I booked a single room with shared bathroom. The room was so small and extremely warm. There was no place to hang your clothes inside the room. The room was super simple in general. Also, the shared bathroom was quite far away and the shower really need some love and care. The shared facilities was alright and so were the staff. But my room and bathroom was for sure below the standard I would expect for that mount of money.
This is the dirtiest hostel room I’ve ever stayed in my life. Maybe other rooms were better but at least the shared room I stayed in was dirty as in not being cleaned in over a year kind of dirty. Old dust, stains, grime, and hair all over the floors, bed side shelf and especially the bathroom. It was a mission to clean myself in a room that’s already dirty. I definitely wouldn’t stay again. The best thing is the location.
Not worth the price at all imo, but Santa Teresa is pretty expensive in general. The best part was the direct access to the beach from backend of hostel.
The hostel is fine but my room smelled from a towel that was very dirty and had been left there for days. You have to give a deposit for a towel. The bathroom felt very unclean.
Location of Zeneidas is brilliant - close to the end of Santa Elena where it’s all happening for travellers - lots of great food places close by, mini supermarkets and the main beach Playa Carmen on your doorstep. The shared area is also lovely. We stayed in the van which was awesome however the main downfall for us was there were LOTS of mosquitoes as it’s very close to the beach. Would considering bringing a mosquito net to sleep in if you’ve booked the van as we left with tons of bite...
The hostel itself was alright but I feel I was lied to about one thing in particular. Online it said there was AC, and someone had told me they had AC in their room. My room however, did not. And I did not get any sleep as a result because it is HOT in Santa Teresa. I ended up checking out early and moving to another hostel. I’d say they should either put AC in all of the rooms or don’t advertise it as having AC online.
Pros: comfortable beds, nice common areas, on the beach, helpful staff, lots of kitchen and refrigerator space. Cons: Kika's plays loud music next door most nights until 11pm or later, missing basic amenities in rooms(both private and dorms) like hooks on the wall and shelf for top bunk, AC would turn off in the middle of the night, swinging wooden doors that went to the bathrooms were very squeaky and would often be slammed which wasn't helpful for sleeping when you're in the adjacent dorm.
Linens were dirty, poor excuse for pillows and blankets and some of the beds are right next to the air conditioning unit making sleeping impossible because its freezing and you have air constantly blowing on you. Oh and good luck if you get stuck with the top bunk...

The location is superb. Although it was near the rainy season, the rooms get super hot and it becomes nearly impossible to fall asleep. I ended up grabbing a fan from the register and kept it in my room throughout my stay. The staff wasn't very friendly.

The power being out on my last night made travel the next day really difficult but other than that the experience was wonderful. The hostel itself was worth the money but a lot of the add ons were very pricey

Very nice place! Huge community area and hostel offers including private beach access
Place defimitely needs some renovation! Some light not working, shower not working. Everything is run down. Staff is very nice. Can't recommend the privates, they are much smaller, have no AC, ants and there is nowhere to hang your clothes. Still a great place, just don't go if you don't like the camping-on-the-beach experience
Absolutely loved and great location! Right across from SOMOS but chill vibes

Fun fun fun
Amazing times! Tolle Location und super auch zum socializing!
great location, good for surfing, good price but rooms pretty basic !
Excelente hostel me encantó y sin duda volvería
Really nice hostel, big kitchen and everyone cooks together like a family. Directly on the beach it was so perfect!! I came back a second trip and I would come back again!! 🫶
Definitely one of the, if not the best hostel in Santa Teresa. As soon as you arrive, it's almost got Summer Camp vibes, it's social, with nice hanging out areas and the location right on the beach is unbeatable as is the daily yoga. The rooms were clean and the A/C was controllable in the dorm which was lovely if you're not feeling well/want to nap on the afternoon or turn it off when it's too cold at night. Only thing is the smell of wet dog almost in the entire hostel. I had a lovely stay!
Zeneidas is a lovely surfer hostel right by the beach with a mix of different accommodation options. You will also encounter families, a surf crowd as well as a yoga people. They rent surf boards, you can take lessons and there is also a yoga shala. The kitchen area is large enough for everyone.
