The Hosteller Kodaikanal

1. Wi-Fi is HORRIBLE. Come only if you are NOT working 2. There is no Swiggy or Zomato delivery! The kitchen at Hosteller is VERY expensive 3. The Mountain View is beautiful 4. Hostel is very clean 5. Location is VERY far from main town. Taxi costs 800 6. Check-in is extremely stressful

Great stay

The stay was great and i enjoyed my stay.

The place is cheaper than a hotel and provides clean washrooms with hot water. That's basically everything good about it. Dorm was super cramped. Basically no real common space to hang out. Don't expect a social atmosphere. Food in the cafe was pretty bad and. Is served in disposable dishes. Loud music blaring all evening in courtyard and cafe.

The ladies dormitory is actually on ground floor and theres only one female dormitory so it sorta feels restricted & missing out on views since the patio outside it obstructs the road and mountains. Also, hosteller does allow smoking freely and the female dorm being on ground floor just beside the patio and garden, non smokers would get disturbed quite a bit. The common areas are just across building and has very limited seating space.

stayed there for a week. the hostel was amazing. staff is very friendly. amazing facilities too.. maybe too much facilities. the door otp system is unnecessary. having to go their webpage to see the otp everytime to open the door is really irritating. I hope they fix it soon. got locked out and had to ask for help a lot of times because I forgot my phone inside or got switched off.

Rooms are really spacious and clean, staff is also super helpful

It was a good stay, but since it’s new the community is still growing, very clean premises and friendly staff, it’s approx 7km from city center but is closer to Whistlers cafe so that’s a plus point there!
