Nalu Nalu Hostal

The room was extremely hot and there was only one plug for my bed - either for the fan or my phone. For the top bunk, the fan was very dangerous as it was attached to the bed and hanging down. If you made the fan too strong it would fall down. The 4 bed dorm was also tiny. Although the staff were nice, I left after one night because the room was too hot to sleep in and very uncomfortable. For the price, the room was not worth it.

The staff and location were good. However, the advertised air conditioning was not actually in the room itself, but in the neighboring bathroom area, which made the room very warm and humid.

A decent hostal in a good location but there's some issues. There is never enough purified water, either their filter doesn't work properly or they need more water filters for how many people are staying here. They also lock the front door overnight and don't open it until 8:30am when an employee finally arrives. This means you can't leave until this employee decides to get here. The dorm rooms are incredibly hot and the fans do nothing unless the door is wide open. The communal kitchen is nice.

Hubo un inconveniente con la reserva que finalmente me la resolvieron pero: el desayuno es sin café, tienes que ir a comprarlo al lado, si quisiera comprar mi desayuno no reservo en un lugar con "desayuno incluído", de todos modos el desayuno podría estar mejor, bastante escaso. El wifi funciona bien, las instalaciones estan bien pero no tienen lugar de guardado de equipaje.

It is a nice place, new-ish. Staff are fine not overly friendly but still friendly enough. This definitely isn't a party hostel, but close enough to the party spots.Mattress was underwhelming considering how new it was haha.

Goede locatie en heel vriendelijk personeel! Martha heeft ons heel goed en snel geholpen met het plannen van activiteiten :) De voorzieningen zijn goed en het personeel staat open voor feedback. De kamer was wel wat klein in een klein maar fijn hostel.

For the price it’s amazing. It’s very sweet and the location is premium. Our dorm had no window, it got really hot during the night and not every bad had a fan. And it was hard to get to the top bed because auf the ladder. But for the cheap price it was a good stay!

I spent 2 nights in a 4 bed dorm with en-suite bathroom. It’s quiet, small and cozy. It has everything a hostel needs. There can be some improvements of the facilities, simple things like more light in the showers and a towel for common use in the bathroom inside the dorm or a hairdryer. But these are all pluses. Everything else was very good and I had a great and safe time in this hostel. Decent breakfast, nice staff but no reception. Which was not a problem for me. I recommend it!

nice small hostel. not very social when I was there. They should empty the toilet bin more often.. it wasn't emptied or cleaned while I was there (3 nights).

Very friendly and helpful staff. Cute little hostel. It’s super easy to meet people and the location is incredible. Breakfast is small but amazing for being free. Room with fan did get stuffy as it’s just used air circulating. Would definitely stay again when in San Juan Del Sur.

This hostel honestly felt like a relief on my travels! Great location, in the middle of San Juan del Sur, super close to great food spots and 2 mins to the beach, however as it’s set back a bit from the street, entering the hostel it feels really peaceful and calm. It was really clean with great facilities and the kitchen was also great. Met lots of nice people and could easily have stayed longer. Breakfast was good, though a bit small but staff was very helpful!

Very nice hostel ! Worth the money, it's in the center and you have a little breakfast which is always a plus, but it's at 9 and it's not very organized. However the place is nice but small.

Mijn verblijf was heerlijk. De eigenares en het personeel dat er werkt zijn zo vriendelijk en lief. De kamers waren wat klein maar hadden alles wat je nodig hebt. De bedden zijn comfortabel en de douche lekker warm. De keuken is goed uitgerust. ‘s Nachts is het stil hoewel je midden in de stad zit! Het enige dat ik zou veranderen is de uren waarop ontbijt wordt geserveerd flexibeler maken. Als ik terugkom naar SJDS blijf ik hier zeker weer overnachten.

Really great spot one block from the beach, close to the bus station, and shuttles leave right at the end of the block, which is super convenient. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s a small, chilled hostel with enough space to hang out, meet people, or just do your own thing. Breakfast is small, simple but good. Only downside is the bunk beds are a bit wobbly. Overall it’s great value. I’ll happily stay here again.

Really relaxed place, quite hidden away and that feels great in such a touristic place. The lady who runs it is super nice! Only thing is that it is not super spacious, but then again you're mostly outside anyway

A small but very family-like and overall amazing hostel where you instantly feel at home! Berta and Erick make the whole stay even better by always being around and incredibly helpful. I can only recommend it 🫶🏼
