Tree House Cafe Ella

We got a room which was not located in the hostel itself, it was more like a staff sleeping room in a different building. this was nowhere written or showed on pictures…

While this place is cute and unique, it does lack a lot and you have to have tough skin. The walls are only made of clay and do not close all the way. So at night you hear all noises like they are in your room. It seemed at check-out they didn’t really knew who we were or in which room, so we could have easily left with paying like half the bill. Everything is a bit open to interpretation

Booked via the website, but on arrival was told that they were fully booked. When I asked for a refund of my booking fee they gave me an insufficient amount. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.

the staff is super nice and polite and the location is fine, however very average facilities, not very clean and smell of trash coming from the restaurant next to the hostel which is really overpowering. Additionally, we had booked in advance a 4 bedroom mixed dorm to be together but once we arrived they told us 2 of the beds had been given away, so we had to split. Unfortunately we did not have pleasant roommates and I spent one night sleepless. Not ideal.

It was a nice stay for 3 nights, but There was no one to contact, and apart from cleanliness, nothing was taken care of. Construction work was going on all day, and there were noisy animals in the roof, which is open.

well-located hostel with a nice view. rooms are nice too, bathrooms okay. unfortunately, the staff barely speaks english. i wouldn't recommend the restaurant/breakfast

Such a cute place! But the smell from the garbage dump down the road was really off putting. Glad I was only there for 1 night. The food was overpriced and underwhelming, but the bar/restaurant rooftop is really pretty at sunset/sunrise. Hot shower was good!!

This is a super chill hostel. When I went there there wasn't anything organised and there wasn't much social vibe, but the areas for hanging out or relaxing are really really good so if you want a place to relax at the end of the day this is good. It's a little difficult to find the guy running the place as it's just him and he is often running around doing jobs, so maybe a contact number on a sign would be helpful to assist with checking in because it's a bit confusing when you arrive.

Very cute place. Very well situated in the center of the city. I really appreciated the decorations. it is a really pretty place and original. it is such an experience to stay at this place. the owners are really nice and patients. I really recommend to go in Thai hostel for your stay in Ella.

I have spent only one night in the hostel as stop in Ella. Even if it has been very short I have to say only one thing; W O W !!! I am very glad for chosing this structure for the night. The name of the hostel is not only metaphorical, the place is indeed between the tree branches up the hill the hill, from that you can really enjoy the beatiful view between the main road and the horizont. Staying in this place is an experience. It is only few min from the main road for the night life.

Loved this hostel. The owner is so so nice and helpful and makes amazing breakfast every morning. The beds are super comfy and have nice fluffy blankets which are so cozy. No AC in the dorms but not needed because it gets a bit chilly in the evenings. Perfect location. Facilities are nothing special but do the job.

nice hostel near the railstation. the hostelhost was so friendly and helpfull. the rooms are very clean. no AC in my rooms I stayed, but was not too hot in the night

The tree house is so cute, the hosts are very nice and they serve a big breakfast.

I like the vibe and the view of this accommodation. The owners are so nice and help u with anything. Breakfast was great and delicious as well.

Sehr cooles Hostel mit chilligen Vibe. Viele Möglichkeiten zum chillen. Super Ausblick von allen 3 Decks über Ella. Einzige Nachteil das es direkt an der Hauptstraße liegt. Ohrenstöpsel sollte man zum schlafen haben, da die Zimmer oben nicht komplett geschlossen sind. Und vielleicht einen Pulli zum schlafen. Inhaber sehr lieb und zuvorkommen. Ausreichendes Frühstück jeden Morgen.

Great stay at the tree house cafe. Rooms were proper and clean with musquito nets. Location is good as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful when needed.

this is a really lovely hostel in a perfect location just off the main road. all the staff are very warm and helpful making the atmosphere especially great. the set up of the common areas is really nice with lots of comfortable places to sit and enjoy the view and meet others.

The hostel owners are so friendly and helpful! The place seems to attract really friendly and chatty backpackers with a lovely restaurant to hang out and meet people. Also a great place to chill with the hammocks over looking the tea plantations. There’s some great local restaurants in the location too!

Really lovely hostel! One min walk from the main road of Ella, and partially overlooking the railway. The hostel itself is so cozy and the owners are so kind and welcoming. The beds were really comfy too. All round good vibes 💞

Cute Hostel with a lovely common area. Could be a bit cleaner. While we were there, there was a construction site and it was noisy during the day. There were no other guests besides us, so I can't comment on the social activities. Breakfast was delicious and sufficient.

I have stayed twice at this hostel as I loved the vibe here so much, and the staff are so friendly. In a great location in the main town area. Dorm rooms are simple but cosy. There is a restaurant just upstairs where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Love it here.
