- Avoid this hostel. Very poor management by Marie, she can’t handle people and obviously not a hostel. There was a serious flea infestation in our room (photos available), when we reported it, the situation was handled very poorly by her. Housekeeping threw away our labelled food by mistake, when we asked for the refund, she wouldn’t even care. There’s no common areas to chill after 8pm, which makes the place even worse. Overall, very bad management and an uncomfortable place to stay. So many rules, it’s like a prison not a place to have fun. Would not recommend at all.
+ They make you 20 dollars discount if you put a good review, so don't believe those 10 star reviews.
- The staff was rude and racist. The kitchen never had coffe, most of the people don't follow the rules, but if they are European they will get a warning as the most harsh action. On my last day the assistant manager was shouting and fighting with another guest in the stairs, everything is bizarre

- This property has the most uncaring and money driven management I’ve ever encountered. I had to cancel my travel plans because my friend that I was travelling with got sick, and I’d accidentally double booked, one on another site which I had cancelled and one on Booking.com. When I realised, it was only 1.5 hours past the free cancellation period. I contacted the property straight away, explained everything, and asked for a simple fee waiver. They refused without hesitation. No understanding, no flexibility, nothing. I asked to speak with the manager, who couldn’t even be bothered to come to the phone, just hid behind the staff and let them say “no” on her behalf. Their attitude makes it clear, they don’t care about customers, only about squeezing money out of people any way they can. Keeping a full payment over a 1.5 hour delay is ridiculous and tells you everything you need to know about how they operate. If you want to be treated fairly or with even basic respect, avoid this place entirely. They will happily take your money and give you absolutely nothing back, not even basic human decency.

- TOUT, Nous avons eu une très mauvaise expérience dans cette auberge. La pire auberge que j’ai connue. Expulsés soudainement à 19h, sous la pluie, juste parce que mon copain est rentré chercher un sandwich avec sa batterie de vélo. Aucune explication logique, aucune humanité, aucune compassion. Le personnel est arrogant et agressif, et invente des prétextes absurdes pour mettre les clients dehors. Un endroit minable, dirigé de manière honteuse. À fuir absolument si vous voulez être traités avec respect. Pendant ce temps, il est “interdit de fumer de la drogue”, mais tout le staff passe son temps à fumer tranquillement sur le rooftop. Hypocrisie totale !!!
Nothing ALL, We had a very bad experience in this hostel. The worst hostel I've ever known. Expelled suddenly at 7pm, in the rain, just because my friend went home to get a sandwich with his bike battery. No logical explanation, no humanity, no compassion. + The mismanagement and lack of planning caused my room to be changed. My mobile charger is missing, and my bath towel has been used. I don't feel safe in this situation. Please look into this matter.

+ Marie and her staff are really welcoming and helpful, the rooms and common areas are kept really clean and tidy, comfy beds, great showers and the location is perfect. Thanks for having me 😊
+ The hostel is spacious and clean! The kitchen is a great size and the addition of the air fryers makes such a difference. Bed was super comfy and the rooftop is the perfect size for the amount of guests. All the staff and volunteers are so helpful and friendly, anything I needed they were happy to help with.

Really nice hostel, highly recommend. I stayed 3 months and had a great time. Feels like home with easy social vibe in kitchen, bar and rooftop. Facilities are great: well-equipped kitchen, clean spaces, storage and free WiFi. Rooftop has amazing St Kilda views and chill/work space. Friendly staff and 24/7 reception. Barkly’s Bar next door has cheap happy hour and good food. Would stay again.

Dirty place with poor staff behaviour. If you are brittish or irish come here, you can get away with everything, drinking and making partys in the room while people sleep, being as dirty as you can, not do your dishes etc. If your skin is not very clear I don't recommend this place, they will systematically make your life harder. Plus, they always run out of coffee and tea, the kitchen is small awkward and dirty. there is an ample rooftop which had bag beans so dirty they had to throw them away.

Had to switch rooms bc they’re letting a girl stay there that was a literal tweaker and was throwing around loose threats and implying I’m carrying a gun bc I’m American. After I switched to my new room they informed me they had bed bugs in there and that I needed to switch rooms again. Didn’t feel comfy staying there at that point so asked for a refund for the rest of my stay and they said no, all they could do was pay for my laundry.
