IT HAS INCREDIBLE POTENTIAL TO PROVIDE PROVISION FOR THE ORIGINAL VISION TO CATER TO FISHERMAN WHO WORK ON THE WHARF BUT THE REPETITION OF THE FIRE ALARMS GOING OFF ALL THE TIME IS VERY ANNOYING! MANAGEMENT CATERS TO FOREIGNERS WHO CAN NOT COOK BUT PAY IN EUROS WHICH APPEALS TO MANAGEMENT WHO MAXIMIZE THEIR PROFIT AT THE EXPENSE OF HEAVENLY HEALTHY HOSPITALITY HEALING HUMANITARIANS WHO LOVE TO GO FISHING AND ENJOY ENTHUSIASTIC ENERGETIC SUNSET CRUISES AND SAILING ON THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY & PRAY!

Low light: - extremely dirty - disgusting smell in the bathroom - old furniture/no plugs to charge stuff in the rooms - slow wifi (barely working) - no bed linen/sheets etc provided Never again!!!!!

Being a senior and on a budget the hostel seemed like a good choice. I have used many in my days traveling as a young man and occasionally with my wife in the recent past. The staff has done a good job. I believe the price for the private room without en-suite was way to high for what you get but I understand that has to do with location and the demand and prices that the hotels and inns get. My mate from Australia and I enjoyed our stay in San Fransisco. The location was ideal. Parking a plus

Beaucoup de choses à dire sur cet hostel. Tout d'abord le positif: la localisation et le prix effectivement imbattable dans une ville aussi chère que San Francisco. Ensuite tout le reste est une catastrophe: les lits sont peu confortable, il n'y a aucune intimité (même pas le moindre rideau). Le bâtiment est très vieillot. La propreté est relative. Et enfin élément très important à préciser: le lieux sert aussi selon toute vraisemblance de lieux d'accueil pour sans abris. On ne se se...

Not blaming the staff - they did what they could. However, we reserved a 4 bed room, we were 4 travelers when we arrived there was someone in the room, they didn't really want to get out as it was late at night, we were given a different room with more beds in it and were told no one would join that night, however no one felt safe knowing what had happened. The sheets smelled bad, some had satins in them, we decided to not even shower because the bathrooms weren't kept very well....

Das Hostel ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen.Keine Steckdosen, keine kleinen Lampen an den Betten.Das Personal ist sehr unfreundlich.Ich hatte ein 4 Bettzimmer für 3 Nächte bezahlt, kam aber einen Tag später.Man hat mich absichtlich in der Lobby bis 15 Uhr sitzen lassen. Auch auf Nachfrage, ob ich vielleicht etwas früher ins Zimmer darf, hieß es vielleicht 10 Minuten.Meine spätere Zimmergenossin sagte aber das Bett stand den ganzen Tag leer. Hat wenig mit Dienstleistungen zu tun.

I would definitely not recommend this place, not only did I not feel safe here the entire facilities had a terrible smell and felt really dirty. I had two nights planned here and you couldn’t pay me to stay a second night, they went ahead and charged the second night even though I didn’t stay, which that’s OK I prefer health and safety over saving a few bucks… Jonathan

Amazing location. Our private room was super cozy - teeny, but adequate with a great view of the bay and Alcatraz.

Great bang for your buck and an amazing location if you plan to explore fisherman’s wharf or walk along the beach to Golden Gate! You’re also very close to Safeway, the bus and running trails. The path through the park is very dark and quiet walking home at night. Crowd at the hostel was much older with people in their 40s-80s. Also there was a middle school group running around. Everyone was very friendly and I wonder if there’s more young people once the California colleges get out

My stay at the HI San Francisco Fisherman Wharf went a bit downhill than my last visit. 1. No more breakfast. 2. Don't like the attitude of one staff when handling the luggage storage during check out. Other hostels I experienced has very way better handling that situation. Next time when I come to San Francisco, I may reconsider finding another hostel suck as the Green Tortoise Hostel. At least they got breakfast.....and a sauna.

I absolutely loved my stay here. The location in unbeatable, the place is incredibly cozy and nice, and the staff is amazing. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay again. (Internet was okay-ish, but not fast enough for my Zoom calls. I also liked more the 8 girls bedroom than the 6-bed one, it was more spacious)

Loved it here! Close to all things I planned while in San Francisco. Lots of radiator noise, which I wasn't familiar with- but I should have just asked and the could have fixed the noise. I'd definitely stay here again

Really nice and calm location, free parking in case that you are driving (rare finding in the US), friendly service and great installations, and also 1$ the washing and drying machine! Such a good deal! The only drawback if I had to say something is the commodity of the bed. Highly recommeded!!

The private room in the other building was very noisy at night. If you’re up for staying up until 3am…it’s not ideal. You can hear people come and go and they slam the doors pretty hard, and you can hear people go to the bathroom. Overall not the best…

Wow! This was my first hostel stay in the US and I was so impressed. The staff was SO nice and helpful. Also, the views were unreal. The hostel felt very safe, with lots of amenities. Prepare for some steep hills if you stay here - but that is just San Fran. I stayed for Renegade Craft and was a little nervous having my entire inventory on me, however everyone in my room was trustworthy and I could store valuables in the lockbox under the bed. Bring an eyemask if you want to sleep before 11pm!

ma chambre était assez petite, donc les lits n’étaient pas très espacés et cela donnait une impression d’être les uns sur les autres, sans aucune intimité. De plus, 1 seule prise dans toute la chambre pour 5 lits… Également, la douche n’était pas très pratique, avec aucune étagère pour poser ses affaires et un simple rideau pour fermer, encore une fois aucune intimité

Alot of people try to dog on hostels & staff: but where else can you stay in the most premium locations, wocialize and cook with the best, for pennies on the dollar and often get better service than a four star hotel?

I’ve stayed at other HI USA hostels, and this one has the same vibe I really love. That said, the cleanliness and facilities could be improved. I would still consider staying here again on a future visit to San Francisco.

Amazing hostel and location. I've stayed in San Fran many times and wish I knew about this place sooner. Great facilities, and amazing view of the golden gate bridge from the top of the hill.

My first ever hostel (18f) and it was good! After you get a feel for the location everything feels pretty conveniently close. Wish the charging situation in rooms was better but other than that I really enjoyed it and the views from there were gorg. Super walkable, will def stay here again if I come back to SF

Least private hostel I've ever stayed in, didn't bother me very much, but something to take note of if that's important to you!
