Highroad Hostel DC

So, they do not let people with dc IDs in the building at all. I was looking forward to a few days. Because of the rating. It is policy the say that people with dc IDs dont get let in.

I am a victim of egregious government abuses. https://x.com/nazivogue/status/1718314123165941901?s=46 This property’s staff participated in a skit for the FBI intended to re-victimize me and discredit me and put me in harm’s way. The staff essentially participated in Nazi activities. I would never stay here again and I encourage you to not support this place. Too many people are mindlessly going along with grave abuses of the FBI contributing to America’s police state.,

Did not enjoy my stay. My bed was on the floor in a cave situation and I got bite by something. No amenities and definitely not worth the price. The generator DC down the street was much better.

not much of a vibe. staff was fine, unmemorable-- there's not a casual hostel atmosphere here, more like a hotel, but without all the hotel perks. no breakfast :( amazing bed/room though! but would have been sad to slide into the bottom bunk (mine was on the very top). overall would return if i want a really good location or some privacy -- not to socialize.

The beds provide a lot of privacy, the bathrooms are complete seperate rooms that you have for yourself once you look them behind you, very clean and a safe area. Kitchen is clean and well equipped. Not very close to the subway but the bus system is perfect. Staff is very helpful and attentive. Free toiletries Cons: in a party area, its incredibly loud until 2am and later during weekend nights. No lift. The blankets are thin fleece blankets, but staff provided more when asked.

They will make you pay for full immediately, be aware. This place has rules plastered everywhere, doesn't exactly make you feel like a paying guest. The showers sucked. The bed was a triple bunk, not a single photo online of a triple bunk even being an option. The neighborhood is great. There's no atmosphere here in the hostel though, which really sucked. Free toiletries are a nice touch but really this wasn't a great experience.

far away from city, staff is very friendly, room is very small and toilet is very very small you are very careful for not being hurt yourself

Hostel didn’t follow its own rules about no guests and observing quiet time. Friday and Saturday nights were very loud, with heavy drinking, in the living room. At 3:00 am there we’re still residents up, talking and laughing in the living room.

Had a couple of nights spare after a work trip. Hostel was easy to find an din a good location for food and nightlife. Hostel was kept clean, staff were friendly and the beds were comfortable. Rooms were very basic but that is all you need in a hostel, plus you had 2 large lockers so no worry about fitting baggage in. Enjoyed my stay, would stay again.

Absolutely no complaints. The staff are 🤩 and you really get a great value.

In general the experience was good, the area is safe and alive. Only complain check in the kitchen what is working and what is not, just one of the 2 inductions was working + the boiler in the kitchen is broken + the hoven is broken, the washing mashine smell bad, tell people to let it open after every use or spray with sanitizer. The restrooms and showers are not in the room but in the main area. They have a nice spot outside to enjoy a meal with your mates.

HighRoad Hostel is truly a gem. Despite being small, the rooms are exceptionally clean and cleverly furnished to maximize the space. I truly have not seen a higher level of cleanliness, not even in luxury hotels. Everything works as it should, if not better than expected; excellent temperature and water pressure with no fluctuations, rainfall shower heads with handheld fixtures, unbelievably comfortable pillows and beds, plush towels. To top it off, toiletries and coffee are free all the time!

Very Nice hostel ! Easy checkin. No burocracy at all. Smiles everywhere. Free coffee during the day. Clean room, big lockers and hot shower. Everything i needed for my 2 days/1 night staying. The hostel is located in a bohemian neighborhood 35 min far from Nationa Mall (by local bus). I recomend and it seems to be the best option in town

My best hostel experience yet. Hot showers, lots of bathrooms, huge lockers, great location close to nightlife and transit options, super friendly staff (LOVED Mai), and a great social vibe. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in DC

Great location, the hostel is not too far from the subway, the area is nice and I felt safe at night. There is an active night life on weekends within walking distance of the hostel. The hostel was quiet when I was staying there and staff were friendly and helpful. I liked that the hostel provided extra soaps/shampoo and toothpaste for guests. I wish there had been some hostel events happening when I was there. I liked the at they offered free coffee!

The place is net- clean - intact- great location- female dorm on the top floor needs to have the plumbing examined in the shower- water pressure in the shower is either very hot or very cold- this was reported to the staff.

Very great, accommodating and peaceful hostel. Good showers, free coffee/tea, closets and lockers. The beds are pod likes. The dorms have bathrooms! It is very peaceful which I appreciated greatly after I came in from work . Business travelers sometimes get passed up by hospitality catering to the needs of nightlife, but I feel this place strikes a decent balance.

We’ve stayed here twice now, absolutely love the vibe and it’s in a great location!

Great hostel! Good amenities like a free washing machine and a kitchen (induction stove which can be a little confusing) and it was clean and I liked how the beds were each sectioned off with lots of curtains. The area is really cool and fun but it’s quite far from the Capitol (although takes less time to walk there than google maps says) and the public transport is really sketchy at night.

Great stay would come be an again the room I was in was a three bed mix on the second floor the amenities were great the rooms were quiet even though it’s close to the party streets. Would go back

HighRoad Hostel DC has a good location with lots of bars and places to meet people. The atmosphere is friendly and social, making it easy to connect with other travelers. With shared rooms, kitchens, and common areas, it’s a great option for budget travelers in Washington, D.C.

Great Hostel, would come again

Great location, super clean and they had toothbrushes/toothpaste/soap/earplugs and even razors if you needed! Close to a bus stop and only 15 min walk to the train. A longer walk but no problem to get to the monument etc. It’s on a busy street so it can be loud outside on the weekend
