The vibe of this place is so OFF! As a single female traveler, I almost changed the place after my arrival. When I checked in, there was no one but the two guys and no possibility to lock my dorm from inside. A weed cloud welcomed me and I was told by the staff that I should wait with the check in until they finish something. Which was not a problem until I realized they are rolling a joint they found more important to smoke in that moment than checking a guest after all day of traveling in.
I honestly don’t understand how this hostel has such high ratings. The place is dirty, bathrooms are dry and hence disgusting, beds uncomfortable, unbearable heat with just a fan, animals everywhere. There’s no friendly vibe, no social activities, and the staff isn’t helpful. For the price, it’s definitely not worth it — I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone
Auberge très bien située. Les installations restent très sommaires. Ce sont des toilettes sèches et dcp l’odeur est très désagréable dans tout l’établissement, il n’y a pas d’eau chaude et la cuisine est très peu équipée.
The facilities remain very basic. it is dry toilets and the smell is very unpleasant throughout the establishment, there is no hot water and the kitchen is very poorly equipped.
Good location and clean sheets, toilets and kitchen, but I wouldn’t stay here again. Rooms were pretty dirty, showers too. Loads of mosquitoes and no mosquito nets, and also no hook to put your own mosquito nets up. No privacy in our dorm room. Just be aware that there’s actually loads of hostels in the town that aren’t on Hostelworld, if I were to go again, I’d just rock up and find a lovely place to stay (there’s plenty). The vibe was pretty weird at this hostel too.
Nice location but the bathrooms were really really rough
Open gate and open door, so anyone can enter. Shared rooms are on the ground floor in front of the common area, so it's difficult to sleep if people hang out there. There are mosquito nets on the bedroom windows, but the doors are always open for ventilation. The shared bedroom smells of humidity. Bedsheets and towels are great! The dry toilet is a nice idea but it is difficult to keep clean and nice to use. The staff is very helpful!
The people made the place once again! The hostel itself it nice but it is very "pretentiously" hippie and quite dirty to be honest. The main complaint for me would be the price since in comparison to other hostels around Mexico where I have stayed before the price does not match what you receive. It is not a bad hostel, but also not my favorite

The main downside to this hostel is the heat in the rooms at night, the upstairs rooms hold so much heat and the fans provided don’t touch the sides which makes it hard to sleep. Positioning of the toilets and sink area isn’t ideal either.
The hostel is nice and welcoming however the cleanliness was lacking as well as security with all the doors being open and lots of mosquitoes. I will say if you do want to stay here it’s important you speak good Spanish because some of staff don’t speak English
It is a very alternative hostel which fits the hippie vibe which we just did not like. It lacks a bit of proffessionalism for our taste, but if you don’t mind that it can be a great hostel to meet likeminded people. Kitchen was great. Toilets were not the greatests. Are camping toilets

I extended my stay here couple times cause I really liked it. The location is really perfect and staff are all so nice and helpful.

It’s a very nice and clean hostel and especially the staff is really friendly. They are warm and welcoming and I got to practice my Spanish with them. The location is great, right next to the beach. Unfortunately the heat was a bit too much for me at night because there’s only fans (one on the ceiling and one extra). Otherwise I would have loved to stay here longer.
One of the best hostels I’ve stayed on my trip so far, the location is ideal, right between the beach and main street. Good ambience too, very easy to meet people. Easy to get to neighbouring villages too. The only issue I had was that the dorms got very warm at night, which sometimes made it difficult to sleep. Highly recommend and I hope to return soon!

Das Hostel besticht durch eine fantastische Lage! Es gibt einen sehr schönen Innenhof mit großem Tisch und Hängematten. Die Zimmer sind recht klein und etwas stickig. Jedes Bett hat einen recht gut funktionierenden Ventilator. Wichtig zu wissen ist, dass die Toiletten nicht wirklich Privatsphäre zulassen (zu nah am Tisch…) . Wen das nicht stört, ist hier genau richtig !
The hostel is bested by a fantastic location! There is a very nice courtyard with a large table and hammocks. The rooms are quite small and a bit sticky. Each bed has a fairly well functioning Fan. The important thing to know is that the Toilets do not really allow privacy (too close to the table...) . If that does not bother you, it is exactly right here !
The property is great, really good location! My only comment is that male staff was way more willing to include female guests in activities than male guests. Besides that, the property it's amazing, showed and bathrooms are clean and comfy. The location is good and got a chance to met some cool people there.
This was one of the best hostels we’ve ever stayed in. The staff were sooo friendly and helpful, and really made us feel at home. The atmosphere here is perfect, very relaxed but with lots of opportunity to socialise if you wish! We hope we’ll be back some day :)
Had the most amazing time here! The staff and location are the best part. Pepo, Irwin and Lauré were so sweet, kind and welcoming. The place is thoroughly cleaned everyday and had a lovely cozy vibe. I’ll come back soon! Xx
It was for sure the best hostel on my Trip!! Only one thing it would be nice to have a Blender in the Kitchen :)
Really special place, only a few steps from the beach. The owners, manager, and volunteers all do an amazing job making the hostel feel like a home and cultivating a community. Would definitely stay here again!
great stay, very comfy. the nights were, with the fans, cool and mosquito free enough. the kitchen was amazing, it was a lot of fun to cook here! great location, great people, great time spend here.
I really liked my stay at Alma Turquesa. It's super close to the beach and had a very social but calm vibe. Everything was clean. Rooms can get a bit hot during the night but you get your own little fan

Super kind & great atmosphere, very relaxed and welcoming. Thank you for the nice stay! Facilities are a basic, that's also part of the vibe. Fans in the rooms, chill common area, spacious kitchen and clean.
