This is like the main option for the one night stop for the slow boat, it fits the purpose, but I wouldn’t stay there for any other reason! There’s no official/secure check in, you just arrive and walk in and pick a bed. There’s no water machine or locker. It’s a good simple bunk bed situation inside with AC. The breakfast in the morning is good.
This hostel is pretty bare bones but is fine for one night, especially when there aren’t any other hostels in town. There’s only 2 or 3 showers for up to 20+ people and the bathrooms are pretty gross. The hostel itself is about a 15-20 minute walk from the pier and there’s not much to do in town except grab dinner. The beds were clean though and they offer a Tuk Tuk to and from the pier.

- Camerata da 20 persone e due bagni. L’acqua della doccia non scaricava bene, quindi nel pavimento del bagno si è creata una specie di piscina di un paio di cm di altezza. La struttura di per sé è mediocre, le scale per raggiungere la camera sconnesse e altissime, senza corrimano. Letti duri.

Pakbeng is a strange place but worth it
Alles was ein guets Hostel braucht. Pick-up und Drop-off vom slow boat.

+ In die Unterkunft gehen eigentlich alle Leute vom Slow Boat d.h. man lernt Leute kennen und alle schlafen zusammen. In einem großen Raum ist wie so ein Klassenfahrt Feeling was ich sehr süß fand, dass der Raum war auch völlig okay die Betten sauber die duschen waren auch sauber und die Unterkunft bietet auch sehr gutes Frühstück an und man kann sehr gute Sandwiches für den nächsten Tag auf dem Slow Boat mitnehmen.
- dadurch, dass alle zur selben Zeit ankommen, kann es sein, dass man bei den duschen etwas anstehen muss, weil es nicht so viele gibt und das Hostel ist jetzt halt nicht Mega Special und Fancy aber es geht für den Preis vollkommen klar

Great place to stay for a night on the slow boat trip, they pick you up from the boat and you can order lunch to takeaway the next day

- Advertised as room with curtains, top bunks didn’t have which was disappointing when u pay the same price. Very steep stairs down to the place.
