KACLLA, The Healing Dog Hostel

+ If the problematic aspects are resolved the place has a lot of potential, it has great central location in Miraflores. The breakfast is amazing and I appreciated strong WiFi connection too!

- 1/ Upon arrival the guy at the front desk had zero enthusiasm or interest in us, he just handed us a QR code stating: “Do the check in yourself here.” When you scan it, the QR code takes you to whatsapp chat bot. There is absolutely zero hospitality or personal touch, its not what we were used to after staying at many other backpacking bohemian style hostels. Here it seems that the hostel is managed for business purposes mainly. 2/ We booked a private room n. 11 on the first floor. The room looks cozy, but its very humid and smells like sweat, because the air circulation is very poor. They installed a fan on the wall which makes it less painful, but it’s still disturbing. 3/ The towels that were provided by the hostel were old and stank a lot - please replace them!! 4/ All shared toilets + showers (for both woman & men) are in disastrous state, not clean and they lack privacy, when you go up the stairs to the first floor, you can see people through out holes in multiple parts that serves as a windows - not only in the showers, toilets, but some of the dorms too! The toilets are missing toilet brush, so prepare for a nice surprise left by others, but who can blame guests when you do not have a way how to clean the toilet after use. 5/ The hostel has peruvian dog that was rescued. He is growling and barking at the guests through out day and night. He jumps on the furniture and the guests. One night we tried to go out for dinner and the dog jumped on the couch in the common area started to growl and bark at us aggressively - there was no one to help us. We were so afraid that we immediately returned to our room and texted the owners. To our surprise they responded: “Rao only barks, its not a big deal. You can come he is under the table now.

- They overcharged me. 2$ breakfast they changed 6$. I didn't realize until checking the bank record. When I picked up my bag, the staff followed me into the restroom. I didn't know the reason until finding out their overcharging activities - someone steals from others treats anyone else as a thief.

- El staff definitivamente no tienen maneras para tratar a los huéspedes desde que yo llegué había mucha bulla me hicieron esperar yo había enviado un mensaje pidiendo por favor que me dieran una cama baja ya que tengo problemas en el lumbar creo que no lo leyeron cuando llegué, le dije que por favor me tomaran en cuenta para ello y me dijeron que no sabían porque eso depende de cómo lleguen las reservas pero yo había llegado muchas horas antes del checking, entonces por eso es que estaba pidiendo que por favor me tomen en cuenta y me separen una cama pero no lo hicieron me llevaron a otro alojamiento que estaba como que unas cuatro o cinco casas en el cual me dijeron OK aquí está tu cama y era arriba le dije que no porque tenía el problema de lumbar y que no podía subir la escalera, entonces le pedí que mejor me devolviese el dinero porque yo iba a haber otro alojamiento porque yo había pedido la cama baja, él empecé a increparme y a decirme a ver muéstrame en dónde has escrito. Yo tuve que abrir mi teléfono y enseñarle el mensaje donde yo les pedía la noche anterior que por favor me tomaran en cuenta. Y él recién ahí me creyó y regresamos al hotel principal entonces me dijo que iba a ver una cama abajo, pero ya la atención era mala él fue grosero al pedirme que yo muestre las pruebas de que le había pedido una cama abajo increpándome a ver muéstrame dónde has escrito yo no he visto nada cosas así lo cual me parece pésimo porque yo soy un cliente y me deberían de tratar mejor las personas que también eran encargadas ahí de muy maltrato no saben atender a un turista pueden estar muy ocupados, pero hay formas de atender y ellas serán muy hostiles, al menos las dos que me tocaron para guardar o sacar mis cosas me hacían esperar que terminen de atender a todos para que vayan a abrir el depósito y al momento de alojarme, pues las camas sonaban horrible. No pude dormir y hacían mucha bulla toda la mañana. El mismo staff no sé discutían por cosas.

- Staff was extremely rude and aggressive. No hot water or water pressure. Overcharged by 30% of Booking fee. When ai asked about it the manager told me it was Booking and then they bring outt this extremely aggressive trained guard dog who growls. The dog attacked me twice. I left a day early

- Personnel mal aimable, odeur forte d’urine de chien, d’ailleurs le chien a uriner non loin de la porte de la chambre. le personnel ne prend pas le temps d’expliquer le lieux : nous ignorons qu’il y avait une cuisine partagé ni une laverie. de plus le chien aboie sur les personnes de manière assez agressive

+ Un petit déjeuner tellement ridiculement simple et petit que je n’ai même pas été nourri. En plus, ce n’était pas bon. La fille à l’accueil est une vraie sangsue : elle te demande de l’argent pour tout. Pour laisser les bagages, pour les “extras” du petit déjeuner, pour du savon… même la serviette, elle voulait me la charger, puis elle m’a dit « c’est gratuit pour toi ». Quelle horrible personne. Elle n’a pas voulu que je laisse mes bagages après mon départ pour aller faire leur tour, sinon elle voulait me facturer. J’ai donc dû partir faire le tour avec mes bagages. C’est inacceptable. La chambre est petite et insalubre, les salles de bain sont vieilles et mal entretenues. Aucun respect de l’intimité : depuis les marches, les passants peuvent voir dans les douches. Les coussins de la réception sentent la pisse du chien de l’auberge. Il n’y a presque pas de place pour manger et on doit attendre pour s’asseoir. Pas d’aires communes non plus, à part la réception qui sent la pisse et un petit salon. C’est extrêmement cher pour un endroit aussi déplorable. Plus jamais.

- Very unfriendly and bad prepared staff. Just 2 showers for over 20 people. Breakfast is hilarious.

- The dog was not friendly. The host was a jerk, that blamed us for him not reading the message requests we sent out. And the check in process was long and terrible. The space wasn't very comfortable

+ The atmosphere and the staff were all amazing. Wonderful place to stay in Miraflores.

+ Really liked the location, less central meant easier to walk around. I appreciated the top down scrub down every day by the cleaning staff. Certainly very affordable.

- The bunk rooms are hot, humid, and smell of sweat. The wifi was dropping on me every 5-10 minutes, which made keeping up with my clients (I'm a writer) and Zoom calls with my publishers impossible.

- Me hospedaron en otra sede, un sitio nada agradable, no tiene ventilador cerré la ventana un momento porque se oía mucho ruido de la calle carros pasando pitando gente hablando muy duro tuve que volver a abrir por el calor la ventana. Entraban a la habitación huéspedes a la madrugada cerraban duro las puertas y sumado con el ruido externo no pude dormir. el camarote encima del mi cama sonaba cada vez que la persona se movía, la verdad no fue nada agradable mi estancia, aparte que la habitación o las personas que la ocupaban tenían mal olor. Por tal motivo decidi viajar antes aunque lo programado era un par de dias mas, pero con esos inconvenientes fue mas que suficiente una noche. La sede a la que lo envían a uno no es nada agradable parece un cuartel es deprimente. Lo único que salvaría del hospedaje es la ubicación es estupenda.

+ El alojamiento tiene una excelente ubicación, tiene todo lo necesario para poder disfrutar así sea una noche, la Sra. Juana es un amor de persona, dispuesta a ayudarte en todo. Los baños muy limpios , las camas cómodas. Te ayudan con el traslado y te envían información para que tengas cuidado con las estafas. Sin duda alguna , cuando vuelva a Lima , volveré a quedarme aquí.

- Lo malo del alojamiento en si no es absolutamente nada , lo malo son la gente de Israel 🇮🇱, gente muy irrespetuosa, desagradable, sin empatía y sin valores, se creen dueños de todo. Así que, no crean las valoraciones negativas de ellos , lo más seguro fue porque les llamaron la atención por algo que NO debían hacer, y en venganza me he dado cuenta que ellos valoran mal.

- Tal vez que el desayuno se limita a panes y una bebida. Pero por 5 soles más puedes agregar fruta con granola lo cual no es nada costoso

+ Chill vibe, 24h front desk, clean dorms with curtains :)

- The secondary building is way less cosy than the main one. I was alocated one night in each and honestly I prefered staying in the main building. Keep in mind that you can only pay your stay in cash (soles). Other than that, everything was very nice :)

+ It’s a quaint little place with an adorable dog, in a really well-connected area.

- You are technically sharing bathrooms with other shared rooms too, in a communal area. For example, we were in a 4-bed shared room and shared the bathroom with over 16 others(?) It was decent but it would have been helpful to know so before.
