Trotamundos Oaxaca Hostel

Was a decent walk from centro. Wifi was sporadic and the water was not always hot for showers. Staff were helpful though and it was on a quiet street

Hostel owner seemed very nice and respectful at the beginning of my trip, unfortunately, that changed over time. He asked me several times about my relationship with my fiance, which I let him know right away because I didn't want him to get the wrong idea, but that didn't discourage him from making inappropriate and indecent propositions. If you're a female solo traveler, definitely skip this hostel, he also showed up unannounced and entered my flat with his own keys.

Lugar tranquilo en la segunda planta de una casa en una calle tranquila, caminando encontrarás hacia el centro, lugares agradables para estar comer y beber. Moisés, el operador es una persona agradable y afable, muchas gracias por la atención.

Main owner was great! But volunteer workers did not respect quiet hours- cooking, talking full volume until almost midnight, while actual guests were trying to sleep. My suggestion: post kitchen hours/ lights out very clearly in public spaces so everyone understands exactly when they should not be cooking/ having normal conversation in the dorms.

We had a very warm reception from Moises. He is a lovely host and helped us out so much after we lost our passports. The hostel is tidy, with clean and spacious rooms. Towels provided. Pleasant outdoor balcony. Secure lockers. Comfy beds. Well stocked kitchen. Reliable WiFi. 15min walk to Centro. 10min to Abastos Mercado. Very reasonably priced. We had an amazing stay! The room and the facilities were perfect and the hostel is strategically located within walking distance from the city centre. Also, the Periferico bus station is located nearby, very practical if you're arriving to or leaving by bus. Moises, the owner, is always available in case of need and is very knowledgeable about Oaxaca and its surroundings, we could always ask him whenever we needed help or information. We'll definitely stay here again if we come back!

Nice cheap hostel. The owner is super nice and the volunteers that were there while I stayed were great humans as well. The location is great, just outside the center in a safe neighbourhood thats walkable both in the day and at night.
