Zostel Hampi (Gangavathi)

Overall, I think the hostel is quite good. But! Statements like, for example, "Indians are better customers because they spend more money than foreigners..." tarnish my positive impression. The laundry service is a 1 out of 10. My clothes were very sticky and completely faded afterward. The scooter and taxi service outside the hostel is great.

The location is nice, but 20 km away from Hampi. The front desk lady was very friendly. We paid extra for A/C dorms, which was not working most of the time. They don‘t accept international credit cards and there is no ATM close by, so bring lots of cash. A notice in advance would have been very helpful. It might be different in high season, but the hostel doesn‘t seem to be very social. The bathrooms were not cleaned very well, especially the public toilets were disgusting.

Hard and expensive to get to. I recommend only staying here if you’ll be here a while. No ATM and they don’t take international cards so make sure you have tons of cash on you because you’ll need it for transport/tours/and the restaurant because that’s the only way you’ll eat. Clean, safe, and a nice secluded spot in the middle of nowhere to meet other people. But it feels a bit “trapped on purpose” in order to get as much money from you as possible since they are your only option ...

Nettes Hostel, aber sehr remote. Die Lage abseits macht das Essen im angegliederten Restaurant fast zu einem Muss, dieses ist aber leider ziemlich überteuert.. Ansonsten super Hostel, dorm preise sind allerdings etwas überzogen

the people who worked there were amazing, i really liked the volunteers. Apart from that i did not like the energy the hostel and the owner gave us. They were very pushy and demanding. Apart from that the bathrooms, especially the public ones were dirty. For beingso expexpensive it is not great.

Very beautiful hostel with a nice atmosphere. Many dogs and a nice place to meet others. The property remote, situated far from other restaurants and bars, beware. You will also need to take a long taxi ride or cross a river via ferry to reach the UNESCO heritage side of Hampi. If you are visiting Hampi for this reason, I recommend staying on the other side of the river. I recommend renting a scooter prior to arrival so you can explore the nearby area. One staff member in particular was hostile ...

Pros: * Friendly Staff * Perfect vibe management * Impressive pets * Fun co-travelers Cons: * Expensive commute (2-way charges due to remote area) * AC circulation and room facilities should be improved * Safety concerns at night, again due to location

Nice place but far from the main city and attractions, more than 1 hour which they charge you like 1000 rupees to get there. There is no hot water. There is no kitchen to cook or microwave; only a restaurant that charges you. It would be good to add shelves to the beds to support cell phones and things and it would be ideal to add curtains, lots of mosquitoes. Good atmosphere and they organize activities to go out in groups.

Loved the stay and hospitality. The zostel is far away from the main road which makes it very clam place to be. There are amazing sunset and sunrise point near the property you must visit. The food is great. The only drawback was there were more families in the campus compared to solo and group travellers.

Die Unterkunft ist 40min von Hampi entfernt. Aber die Umgebung ist sehr schön und ruhig.

Probably the best hostel I’ve stayed at in India. Bed was super comfortable (can do with a curtain though). The location is out of the way but the atmosphere is amazing. I can seriously chill at the restaurant/common area all day. The food and drinks were exceptional! The staff were awesome. There’s also a hike for sunset at the back of the property and don’t forget about the rice fields around it. 10/10!

Great Hostel if you want to get out of the hustle. It's a big hostel and feels very commercial.

One of the best property Zostel has. The people are nice. Dogs, cats, bird and the peacock is the best. The location is middle of nowhere, which gives you peach away from the crowds. Transportation is available via tuktuk. Rental scooters are available. Food is delicious. I stayed at dorm which are specious and clean

I solo travelled to this hostel snd really recommend it. I initially was concerned as it is around 40 min from Hampi which is the ootherootherother side of the river. However because it is 40 mins away in a rural location the hostel and its surroundings are so chill and peaceful which is nice after a busy day exploring. There are rickshaws and bike rental literally outside the hostel who will give you a tour of hampi or bike rental 500 INR/day.Food is great here and served all day.

Excellent location - the location is 20kms from hampi but in a perfect seluded spot, you'll easily get autos if your travelling via public transport to hampi. Plenty of pets, wonderful breeze, right beneath a hill of boulders, wonderful cafe! 10/10 definitely!

Der Aufenthalt im Zostel hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Personal ist super nett und hilfsbereit. Es ist zwar etwas abgelegen, aber es gibt die Möglichkeit Roller zu mieten und Tuk Tuks für einen fairen Preis. Sehr schön in der Natur gelegen, mit Kletter/Boulder Möglichkeiten. Absolut empfehlenswert

Remote and peaceful. Cool Activities to join eg. star gazing, short sunset hike, sunset swim in the nearby river, animal watching and so on. The mud bungalows are absolutely fabulous.

Awesome place

A hostel in the middle of nowhere, which is exactly what you want when you're in Hampi. Beautiful locale right next to the rocky outcrops and rice fields. I love the peace and quiet. The hostel has a great restaurant and motorbikes for rent. The staff are very cool and arrange lots of nice trips for the guests, for free as well. Overall a really great stay in a beautiful hostel.
