Germaican-Hostel

This is a great hostel to chill at, well out of town in the jungle. Run by a lovely German couple, it has a great, chill vibe. It’s got stunning views out to sea from the hill top but its remoteness is both its strength and weakness. Without a lift, you’re very cut off from the town. So stock up before you do go, and definitely don’t try to walk up the hill!

Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt im Germaican-Hostel. Der Gastgeber ist super freundlich. Das Hostel selber ist sauber und es gibt jeden Tag ein Frühstück mit frischen Obst etc. Das Hostel hat eine unglaublich schöne Aussicht und die Stimmung im Hostel ist sehr angenehm. In der Region gibt es viele Sehenswürdigkeiten wie die Blue Lagon oder den Nonsuch-Wasserfall. Alles in allem 10/10 ✌🏼

This place is awesome the owners are such cool people, we spent so much time time on the great big patio, the owner can help you with all kinds of information, bring some food with you because it’s a little far from town, the view is worth everything!

Incredible Hostel! Marian is an amazing guy and the location in the jungle up on the hill is unbelievable. Can’t get enough of this view. Also great breakfast, incredible nature everywhere around the hostel and Port Antonio. Felt like home. A bit off the track so best text him before arrival

Génial!! ☀️💛 ne surtout pas hésiter à y aller! Suite à plusieurs commentaires, la route est ce qu’elle est , mais cela en vaut vraiment la peine !! Et il n’y a pas de chose parfaite dans ce monde :) ça donne simplement du piment 🌶️ en plus au séjour !!! Je recommande totalement ! Le lieu, les personnes, la nature autour!!! Merci merci merci !

Das Hostel ist mega. Mitten im Wald auf dem Berg gelegen ist es total ruhig und hat eine krasse Aussicht. Marian und seine Familie kümmern sich total lieb und Marian fährt die Leute sogar runter ins Dorf. Der Schlafsaal war auch sehr gemütlich, hatte genug Platz und alles war sehr sauber.

The Germaican is the most beautiful hostel I have ever been to. It felt like a home, as it is a big house and Marian and Anna go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome. This beautiful house on the hill has an amazing view with a great terrace where you can chill and socialize. I enjoyed the location and since Marian gives lifts to Stoney Hill, all locations in Port Antonio (beaches etc.) were easy to reach. Incl. breakfast was super delicious with pancakes and fresh fruits.

Suuuper gemütliches und wunderschönes Hostel in den Bergen. Supertolle Natur und Marian ist soooo lieb. Hatten eine tolle Zeit!

Also ich war in vielen Hostels, und dieses ist wirklich sehr sehr gut. Marian ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Lebt schon lange auf der Insel und kennt sich sehr gut aus. Morgens gibt es Frühstück und die pancakes sind ein Traum! Die Aussicht ist ein Traum. Sauber! Ich habe coole Leute getroffen. Also wenn man nach Porti will dann Safe in dieses Hostel! Jeden den ich kennengelernt habe hat dort verlängert und blieb länger. Einfach cooles Hostel!

We had the BEST experience staying at Germaican Hostel! The location is absolutely perfect, with stunning views that make it hard to leave. The vibe is super chill and welcoming, making it the ideal spot to relax and connect with others. The breakfast was delicious and a great way to start each day. I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a beautiful, peaceful, and unforgettable place.

Really good stay in this Hostel and in Portland, the view from the Hostel is incredible even if that means that you are a bit far from the city of Port Antonio (but Marian the owber gives you a rideata point where you can catch a taxi). The breakfast is included and it s great, a lot of things to do in the region (blue lagoon, many beaches, falls...)

Super tolles Hostel. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und konnten die Zeit sehr geniessen. Marian ist ein super Host. Kann das Hostel nur weiterempfehlen.

Es uno de los mejores hostales en los que me he quedado como viajera. El personal es muy amable, el lugar está limpio y te ayudan en todo lo que necesites. Las vistas son increíbles. Una experiencia increíble. Lo recomiendo muchísimo

Wunderschönes Hostel, klasse Frühstück & ganz liebe Leute!! Absolut empfehlenswert

Tolles Hostel leicht abgelegen von der Stadt in einer Dschungelidylle gelegen. Es gibt nach Wunsch morgens und abends ein Shuttleservice um von der Taxistation zum Hostel zu gelangen. Von den Hostelinhabern gibt es Geheimtipps und Hilfe bei der Ausflugsplanung. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker mit verschiedenen tropischen Früchten, Pancakes, Toast, Kaffee und Tee. Aufjedenfall ist es eine Topunterkunft um abseits der Touristenströme unterwegs zu sein.

Yes, this is an awesome place! And Anna and Marian are lovely people, who are doing a great job. 100% recommended.

Couldn’t have booked a better hostel in Port Antonio! 🤍 The view from the hostel is breathtaking. Everything was very clean, Marian and Anna are amazing, so kind and welcoming. 🥰 The breakfast they offer is, not gonna lie, the best hostel breakfast I’ve ever had. Marian will drive you for free once in the morning halfway in the direction to the city center and pick you up in the evening. Marian also does tattoos and now I have a very special souvenir from my stay in port Antoni...

Hatte eine geniale Zeit hier :) Klar, das Hostel ist ein bisschen außerhalb, aber genau das macht es so schön! Der Ausblick ist einfach fantastisch und der Weg in die Stadt ist dank Marian, der die Gäste morgens nach Stony Hill fährt und abends wieder abholt, echt unkompliziert. Würde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen und hab die Zeit dort wirklich genossen. (Das Frühstück ist mega!)
