Shiralea Backpackers Resort

This was the most horrible experience I made in Thailand. The location is really far outside, you always have to take a long ride. The room is just completely old and not looking like as on the photos. Even though I got in infection from the water there. They played until 3am in the morning music really loudly. Everything is quite dirty, even the gym is a mess. Don’t go there- the other reviews are a s*** in my opinion.

I would have enjoyed this place more if they didn’t only care about your money. Rude staff and such weird vibes from the volunteers. Something was definitely off with most of the people there. Very much a wanna be hippie sanctuary.

il peggior ostello dove sia mai stata, avevo beccato una giornata di pioggia ed ero arrivata fradicia con un ora di anticipo dal check-in, che ovviamente non mi hanno anticipato e sono dovuta stare in piedi per un ora in area relax perché non c'erano più posti a sedere. il bar è caro da morire e il personale antipatico, ma per finire in bellezza si è allagato il dormitorio per ben 2 volte e il personale non ha fatto assolutamente nulla

Did not like the vibe there , lot of mosquitos & cockroaches not clean at all :(

The place was so dirty, though they did clean the bathrooms daily. It was constantly wet so there were tons of mosquitos everywhere. Food was great. Staff were nice but the manager didn’t know half of what was going on. Disappointed, I booked this place for the pool and yoga, but the pool was down and there was no yoga instructor. I was told that the pool would be fixed within 24 hours but 3 days later and it was still green.

A bit far away from everything, you have to rent a scooter if you want to stay there. A calm environment where a lot of people come for the yoga. The dorm and toilets was very dirty, and the AC did not work properly. Sweet staff though!

Party hostel, not what I was looking for on this side of the island.

Staff were lovely, manager was very accommodating and helped with transfers etc. however, it was very average. Stayed in dorms which were infested with ants, on the bed, in the bathrooms, everywhere. The bed had stains on, and was rock hard, woke up with pains down my side and numbness. The food was the only upside! Incredible food. Quite disappointed. Terrible private room, no water, no furniture at except a bed, ripped fly net, ants everywhere although no food was in the room. Compared to other hostels I’d say that you get less for your money.

Loved staying here! Super vibey, nice yoga, good food, kind staff. The room was a bit cold but I got an extra blanket from the staff! Also laundry service, lots to do. Nice gym and super close to the beach

Love this place. Everyone here is great, staff and guests. It has a very nice Restaurant/bar/Café chill area and the best Pool I’ve ever seen in a hostel (3m deep). It’s right next to a beautiful Beach and the beds are great and private.

The rooms very beyond basic and the mattress was rock hard: but besides this there was a Middle ages man In my room I felt so uncomfortable and he was so loud. Scrunching paper clearly writing something: talking to himself and just staring as I walked in. The rooms need redoing completely. The staff were nice enough and the bar was cool. It is a bit far out from main areas but had a nice beach near.

Shiralea is a great place. The dorms are very comfortable with space to have your things in your bed space, the bar area is comfortable and sociable and the pool is lush. Met some great people here and would definitely go back again :)

It was a great stay. Yes its far but thats intentional. The place is very clean but i wish the shower heads are better. The common area is great and if you want gym yoga and pool combo stay here.

I wished I would have stay longer! Loved the 2 bedroom there. Even with a fan it was not a problem. There are a lot of options to do and a nice environment

It is a nice hostel, but it makes sense to have a scooter if you stay here. You can also book a taxi with the hostel, but they are quite expensive because taxi apps don‘t work. The bathrooms were not so clean, but the rooms were nice and I could sleep very well.

Loved my stay there. Chill atmosphere in a peaceful location on the North of the Island. Its far away from all the parties, but I like a good ride with a scooter. Also good food in the hostel!

It was a beautiful resort, located at the beach. The staff was helpful and we really enjoyed our stay there.

Bis jetzt das beste Hostel, in dem ich jemals war! Preis Leistung ist unglaublich. Sehr nette Leute, tolle Möglichkeiten Sport zu treiben, das Gym ist kostenlos und sie haben auch einen Pool. Leckeres Essen und die Leute dort sind sehr entspannt, kein Party Hostel. In wenigen Minuten ist man unten am Meer. Ich würde wiederkommen!!

Having this great gym onsite is really cool. General vibe is also great, real jungle vibes. Scooterplace right next door but taxi is 400 baht to head down to the pier. Showers were lovely and hot! Thank you :)

facilities are amazing, good gym, great pool, good restaurant, and a good location if you have a bike and like to explore the northen beaches :) it is a 3 min walk from had yao beach and a 5 min drive from salad beach (the most beautiful one) only the room i stayed in had veeery small and hard beds and was cold at night so yeah the facilities are great but when the room is not as good its less worth it

Nice place to relax and have a good time. Close to the beach but far from the center in case you want to do something different. The people who work there are excellent, they were always helped with my inquiries.

The atmosphere here is lovely, super chilled. Facilities are great with a big gym, pool, and chill out area. Dorms have comfy beds and showers are clean however didn’t have hot water. Would recommend!

A nice resort right in the jungle close to several beaches. Very helpful and friendly staff, good food, free tea 🤗 and a swimming pool, gym and sauna. Daily yoga lessons if desired. All in all, great value for money.
