+ Setting is nice. Sadly we were threatened by drunk staff so left
- We booked for two nights at a total of R1560. We arrived back in the evening to quite a loud party taking place (fine, if this is the norm) When we went to enquire how long the party would continue for we were met with a member of staff who was drunk and clearly under the influence of a substance. He was upset that we entered through a gate that housed dogs. Well, upset isn't really an accurate description. He was aggressive, shouting and very rude. He told my partner (from the UK) that 'this is how we do things here in SA' which, as someone originally from SA I found this an odd way to handle a situation but I guess when someone is intoxicated anything goes. His behaviour was so deplorable that we quite frankly did not feel safe and decided to leave. The next dayThe manager offered a refund and a voucher (which I guess we could have used if we ever came out again or passed on to another traveler of ours but quite honestly I wouldn't want any loved ones staying here after the way the aftermath was handled. We were told the staff member in question lived there and they couldn't just kick him out and that he had a week which then moved to the end of the month. I think the saddest thing was the way it was all handled. doged calls, missed requests to send confirmation that refund had taken place or for said voucher to use in future. All in all just a lack of professionalism. I get the vibe of the place is a laid back, yoga and surf retreat but that does not mean human decency and being courteous goes a miss. I was more than happy to accept the refund and leave it as is but the response from the manager. To surmise his response was along the lines of, well, you got your refund, there's going to be bad reviews and there are millions of people in the world, it doesn't bother us if you don't want your voucher there's lots of people who would take it graciously . you've received your refund so from our side we are done.
+ Nature
- The cabin is in a very poor condition. The fan is rusted, the outside shower is dirty, the linen smells. Rip off.
+ I never stay there the management lied to me they never reserve the accomodation. Bad treatment and it was raining i had to arrange another accomodation
- Nothing I will never ever recommend the place to other people. I slept at e khaya la manzi wow what a wonderful place, staff and management remember i never booked with them when i arrived there they gave me accommodation neat rooms
+ I enjoyed their live performances and free pool (snooker), I also enjoyed the Jacuzzi and free coffee
- Their facilities are old, poor tissue paper quality, and many lizards in the rooms , not working fans, our rooms as a group were so separated from each other,I was nearly bitten by their dogs I’ve never been scared for myself. Their Fridges are dirty and sticky, not even a bar fridge in the room, no telephone, no TV ,their bed sheets have stains.it’s a lot
Really dirty, the bed sheets had stains on then and it's really disgusting. Loud music all day and night Too much partying Won't come back. The cafe lady was really nice though and helpful
+ Ceaser and Gareth were amazing hosts. Ceasers cooking is exceptional. The bar and facilities around the bar are great. Was very communal and the first night we meet a lot of new people and had fun.
- The room was very dirty and bug ridden. The facilities with the exception of the bar area are very dilapidated and need some tidying up. We knew it would be rustic but at least make sure your guests are comfortable in their rooms we paid quite a bit for. And the rooms are tidy. The windows had a layer of dirt on them. There was an old hifi compartment thing, when I opened it I smelt death.
+ The kitchen and Games
- Nothing
- There was only bed to sleep . There was nothing else.
+ Food
- Acceptable for a back packer
+ I liked the setup and 2 friendly bar people ...cocktail tender and a sociable Zulu guy.
- Care around the place ...overgrown shrubery....neaten up

+ Loved the vibe and venue. Staff were mostly.friendly and helpful
- The room stairs to the bathroom were steep and had no rails to hold on to,which was difficult for my elderly parents who stayed 1 night of the 2 booked. On booking, I couldn't the actual room, was told.it had guests in, but I was assured that it would be suitable for them. It wasn't, but the manager (Guy?) offered a voucher for a 1 night stay fir early 2026, which I'm happy to accept. All in all, I do like the place.
