Zzzip Guesthouse in Hongdae

DO NOT GO HERE! I have traveled to about 15 hostels all over the world and this was by far the worst. The positive reviews are paid for (there's a culture here to pay for reviews with discounts even from reputable stores like NIKE and restraunts). Nothing about the place matches the pictures and reviews. They have a closet like space with zero counters, storage, lockers for belongings--you name it! The common area is also detached and closed during most hours which is unheard-of. Rude Staff

I left in the middle of the night. The hostel owners were passive aggressive against me and I didn’t feel comfortable. Don’t let this ruin your stay. Maybe you’ll have another experience. But I also want to point out that the fact that they only accept cash payments and that a part of the hostel is extended without permit made this place feel more and more sketchy to me. If only I can put zero. Check-in to the hostel on day 1 and kicked out by the owners while I'm away because I spill salt on the floor. I apologized and he insisted I leave the hostel. I was stranded with my luggage nowhere to go in the middle of the night. I broke down, scared and shocked. It was ridiculous to do this to a solo female traveler on day 1. Staff is really nice and helpful, but also a lil too weirdly strict with their hostel rules. Honestly speaking of the value for money, it is a lil over priced.

The hosts are really kind and give lots of suggestions of what to do in Seoul. Overall though, I didn't enjoy my experience - it may have been just bad luck, but the guests there were quite inconsiderate. People came back really late with no effort to be quiet, and I found the guests to be quite unwelcoming and pretentious about solo travel. The hosts are absolutely fantastic. Random drunk guy came into room and slept next to me one night. Seems a lot of western visitors come here to mostly party. Hostel as a whole is on the smaller size, lower population level.

One of the best hostels I ever stayed at. The hosts are amazing, super friendly and always great recommendations for the city. The bed was really comfortable and the rooms super clean. Also the vibe of the hostel was great and very social, and the rooms still quiet at night, would definitively stay here again!

It was an excellent stay! The hosts Gina and Brian were amazing, the rooms were great and location was perfect and it was very sociable. One of the best hostels I have stayed in.

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in! The rooms are super clean and the hostel is really cute. However the real stars are Jina and Bryan, they made the experience so worth it, helped guide us with what to do and everyone at the hostel was so lovely. There were multiple nights where there was at least 15 of us all out together too! Thank you!!

Outrageously good hostel, definitely a contender for one of the best I’ve ever stayed at. So good that I’m going back only one week after my previous stay

Jina and Bryan are awesome. They're really good at setting up a social atmosphere that is still relaxing and pleasant to come back to. One of the best hostel experiences I've had.

erg gezellig hostel. De hosts zijn super vriendelijk en doen erg hun best om de reizigers met elkaar in contact te brengen. Het ligt erg centraal in een leuke wijk waar van alles en nog wat te doen is, uitgaan, shoppen en goede restaurants. Het ontbijt is erg simpel en de gedeelde kamers aan de kleine kant. Voor een leuke Korea ervaring is het echt een aanrader!

Had the best time here. The hosts are super helpful and the rooms are super clean. Always providing us with options of things to do and social areas were a great place to make new friends. Location is top notch as well. Couldn’t recommend more.

Easily the most social and best hosts at a hostel I've ever been to. Good amenities and in a fantastic location. Jina and Bryan are such friendly hosts and give great recommendations for any occasion. It's so wholesome to see repeated visitors come back here because of how good their experience always is. I would definitely recommend this hostel if there is space if you are visiting Seoul!

Zzzip is the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a cozy, comforting home away from home! It’s a spectacular hostel to make friends at, every night there are groups going out for dinner and/or out afterwards, but the hostel quiet hours start at 11pm, so it’s easy to stay in too. The hostel owners are so friendly and give great recommendations. Thank you for a great time in Seoul!

Incredible social hostel, believe the hype. It’s a really special place. The vibes are immaculate, there was always something to do with someone. Other guests are there to hangout. The little common room is really sweet and great to hangout. It’s really close to central Seoul via the underground too.
