Waikiki Beachside Hostel

I tried to extend my stay for one night and the front desk was very unhelpful, she told me to do it on Hostelworld and walked away. I rebooked it on Hostelworld but apparently I booked it on the wrong room. If the front desk would have told me which one to choose I would have chose the right one. Anyways I got charged for two stays instead of one and I am ineligible for a refund because of their cancellation policy. She even told me I would get a refund. What happened?

Very expensive party hostel. Kitchen very basic. Dorms have weird layouts and not very comfortable.

I’m not incredibly experienced in hostels, however I have stayed at 7 in the last couple of years. This was by far the worst one yet. The only bed left in the room was a top bunk where the only ladder is covered by a desk lol. I was expected to climb on the desk to get to the top bunk which is crazy weird to me that’s their standard. Honestly it’s better to spring for a hotel! This place was kind of icky though it’s a prime spot in Waikiki, no parking though!

Not very clean, hectic energy, weird people lingering to see which room you went inside. Near tourist attractions that are LOUD until late. No AC, windows don’t close, some rooms don’t have doors. Checkin staff didn’t make eye contact with me more than once and wrote the wrong room on my card which meant going up several flights of stairs with baggage 2x. Other staff were nice but the energy is industrial parking lot unfortunately.

I would not recommended staying there. It’s not a good hostel overall, like the dorm are small, no curtain and it’s hot like no AC and super lound. We ask for a refund and never got it even though the manager said we were gonna receive it because we didn’t stay the night because of our flights got changed.

Worst hostel we have ever been in and we have seen a lot of hostels in different countries. We had a junkie in the room and the drugs were scattered on the table. Everything smelled of them. Beds were really dirty. Air conditioning right in your face in bed. We wanted to leave straight away. You should go to the Seaside Hostel instead, it is much better and only a few streets away and more central! No lockers. The evening staff were in such a bad mood, but the man in the morning was super nice.

Horrible place with old beds. The aircon is louder than a diesel generator and there is no windows towards the street which is very loud as well. Room was not very clean at all. Rather a place where working people stay because it’s cheap but not really travellers.

The evening staff likes to put a sign on the door that says “ be back at XX time” then they don’t return. I waited well over an hour and witnessed others struggle with this throughout my stay.

First experience with hostel. Facilities were clean, met my needs. Enjoyed open air lounge. Was walking distance close to beach, shopping, sights. Very good bus service to anywhere. Everyone very friendly and helpful—both staff and other guests. I really enjoyed meeting people from all over the world.

I would definitely recommend Waikiki Beachside Hostel. I stayed there twice in different years and I had a great experience.

Great location. Staff are amazing. Rooms are basic. Extra room hangers on the walls would be an added bonus. No where to hang anything except bathroom or off your bunk, at least in the room I was in. Pancake breakfast and coffee in the morning is great.

Best hostel I have ever stayed at and have stayed at lots! I went for 6 nights ended up staying 10 so three diff reservations added one night then the next day added two more! did it on their web site and every time got the same room and amazing staff its safe, great location and so easy to connect and there breakfast pancakes are amazing....Dave Lautermilch

Ashley was the best! Friendly, welcoming and she also has a great attitude. I had some mix ups during my stay and she handled it with grace when she didn’t need to at all. When you check in, you’ll know who she is 🙂 Great big smile and big sister energy.

hostel très bien situé, les espaces communs sont agréables, juste que notre chambre quand on est arrivé était pas nettoyé plein de verre à coter de nos lits, la salle de bain pas au top de la propreté. mais le rapport qualité prix est très bien pour quelque jours

An amazing option in a great location for this price. Personally oriented staff, great vibe of hospitality and kindness. A lot of activities. Fun and tasty🥞. For any age 🙂

Great value for money. A two minute walk from the beach, right next to an ABC store, and a bus stop. Clean facilities, lovely gym and common area. Staff was helpful. Would stay again.

Great stay at Waikiki Beachside Hostel. The location is excellent, just steps from Waikiki Beach, with easy access to food, tours, and public transportation. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere made it easy to meet other travelers. Rooms were simple but clean, and the common areas were lively without feeling chaotic. Solid option for anyone looking for an affordable, social place to stay in Honolulu.

Lucy was fantastic with helping me book my room. Everyone was super nice and the pancake breakfast hit the spot!! Very friendly staff and are always willing to help!!

Great location and super nice staff. Bathrooms were pretty dirty and needed a bit of touch up but other than that i had a great stay

No curtains for the beds, not very clean, , beds not comfy, old hostel, but great location and staff.

Loved loved this place best place hostel have ever stayed. Loved the free pancakes and coffee. I am going back for sure.

Okay for a one-night stay, but not for an extended trip. Staff are mostly kind, though one (Ash) was rude. The bed was plastic-wrapped and uncomfortable. Worst of all, the 2 bed room layout was a walkthrough for another 2 extra guests
