The Rock Samui

Pleasant hostel with cute little beach! I especially enjoyed the rooftop area, the hammock on the beach and the laundry facilities (free!). The location is great if you want to stay bit outside of the hustle but still have restaurants etc in the walking distance. Dorms were alright and quite spacious. Everything felt quite clean. I think it's notable that you can not swim on the hostels beach since it's so rocky.

very chill place. if you need time to relax it's perfect. you have your own resort with pool and beach and at least in April there were barely any other guests there. the hostel rooms are nothing special altough they have a washing mashine. breakfast is not included and the street in front is busy and loud. but the private beach is worth it all.

Heerlijk verblijf gehad en een geweldig zwembad en privéstrand. Enige minpuntje is dat de kamers gelegen zijn aan de drukke baan waardoor je in de ochtend vroeg wakker wordt. Ook zou het handig zijn dat de kamer elke dag word schoongemaakt en eventueel dagelijks verse handdoeken.

Really nice stay if you want a chilled upmarket hostel experience. Infinity pool, private beach and use of kayaks, all great. It is a mix between hotel and hostel so be prepared for potential family/children knocking about. Very clean and polite/helpful staff. Dorm rooms are excellent; I was in a 6 bed with one other lad so it felt like a private room. You can rent scooters direct from the hostel too. Overall a good stay but don’t expect much atmosphere.

Hostel ohne Aktivitäten. Mir war als Solo- Reisende sehr langweilig. Es hatte kaum andere Leute. Die Lage war ein bisschen abgelegen. Die Unterkunft war jedoch sehr schön. Fand es sehr cool dass es eine “Küche” hatte mit Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle und Toaster. Das Zimmer war gross und es hate nich eine Chill-Area im Zimmer. Ich konnte gut den Pool geniessen und den Privaten Stand.

Beautiful Resort with budget friendly hostel option. Perfect if you wanna take some time off your busy traveling time and enjoy the private beach with free kayaking.

I would have liked to swim in the pool, butcthey sayd it was for prived quest, well it does not say that in the hostelworld page.

Super nice if you want to relax and get out of the noise of Chaweng beach. Staff are super nice and great amenities so was great for me but it is out of the way so don’t go there if you want to party every night then it’s not for you.

I loved this hostel!! was so sad I was only here one night. it was the cleanest hostel I've stayed in on my entire trip, the staff were excellent, the hostel is lovely in itself and the room was super big and comfortable. they let me use their washing machine for free. felt really safe! would highly recommend.

Had the most amazing stay here. The first hostel I had ever been in and the receptionist was incredible. He immediately gave me my welcome drink on arrival (most places forget) helped me with scooter hire, recommendations with prices so I don’t get ripped off and he even did my washing for me. Couldn’t have asked for a better service. I would definitely recommend even tho it is a 20/30 minute walk from Lamai beach. You can also grab very cheap or rent a scooter from the hostel

Loved our stay at The Rock. We had a private room for a few nights and it was clean, welcoming and super comfortable. The bed was SO comfortable and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The beach / pool area is so peaceful and relaxing and we loved how the hotel’s located just outside the local town. Our favourite stop of our whole trip, not to be missed!

Really great place located a bit from the busy streets. Kind and helpful staff, ho really make sure you have a good stay. One of the staff in the reception named Chauw helped us change a booking so my friend could have one of my nights which was awesome, so special thanks to her. Otherwise you get help booking trips from the hostel and you can borrow kayaks from the private beach.

Amazing hostel. Was only here for one night but would have extended if I could! Free brekky, welcome drink, nice beach and free washing facilities. Staff helped me carry my bag and even sent a text to reception when you want help to carry your bags back down

Love this place. Literally a hostel dorm on a beautiful, relaxing resort. Incredible staff and clean, if you want a quieter night away from the hustle and bustle of areas like Chaweng then this is the place for you. Less than 10 minutes away from the night market and plenty of restaurants and bars further up the road.

Incredible value and the best hostel I’ve stayed at while travelling. The fact that it’s a hotel means you get the best of both worlds with amenities, attentive & very helpful staff, free light breakfast and free washing/drying facilities. Location is a bit out of the way but it’s only a short drive/walk to Lamai which I much preferred to the hectic and overcrowded Cheweng anyway. Will definitely be on my list to come back to if I return to Samui.

Outstanding hostel! Everything was perfect and better than most!

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und schön angelegt. Mit einem Taxi ist Sie gut zu erreichen, zu Fuß macht es kein Sinn. Leider waren wir bis auf 2/3 andere Menschen die einzigen Gäste, was die nicht existierende Stimmung zur Folge hatte. Wenn man diese 2 Punkte aber außen vor lässt war das Hostel top

We really loved this place. It has a lot of facilities ( free washing machine, free kayak, yoga mats, free snacks, free towels, beautiful pool, etc.) and the staff is absolutely lovely and helpful! Although it is a bit far away from the main places and it is a really quiet hostel. So, don’t expect to meet people there.

A beautiful hostel/hotel which has a pool and private beach to use, a fantastic coffee shop on site, and staff who can’t do enough to please! The dorm room was clean, large and had fantastic AC, curtains and charging ports. The location was a bit out of the way, but I liked that as I was here for a quiet few days. The staff also helped me book some excursions and made everything effortless. I can’t recommend staying here enough if you’re looking for hotel facilities in a quieter location.

Quiet hostel right on the beach in Lamai. So few people here that it is essentially a private beach, hostel provides kayaks, super friendly and helpful staff for anything you need, very quality and quiet dorms. About a 5-10 minute grab bike ride from main stretch of Lamai, this place is really secluded, quiet and peaceful if that is what you're looking for. There's an infinity pool, private beach, pool room with couches, lounge chairs, hammock, cafe, restaurant... really nice.

Bestes Hostel in dem ich auf meiner 3 monatigen Reise war. Resort mit Mehrbettzimmer würde es eher treffen! Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, sauber und komfortabel. Der Außenbereich ist der Hammer, wunderschöner Pool Bereich mit Lounge und süßes Restaurant im Haus mit leckerem Café und tollen traditionellen Thailändischen Speisen. Perfekt um ein paar Tage runter zu komme, das verlassen des Hauses ist nicht notwendig wenn nicht gewollt.
