Dirty!!!!

A man entered in the middle of night in our 6 bed female dorm. We informed the staff and they didnt do anything, they only said: oh that is weird. Also the kitchen is all the time filthy, barely any space to put your stuff and not enough cups or plates.

Very old and not very clean. Remoted location, far from everythings

Room was ok and calm (6 bed-dorm). Bar/restaurant were convenient since there nowhere else to eat around (at least less than 10-15min drive). Prepare for bugs. Bathroom was disgusting, mold everywhere from ceiling to floor to shower... Cover of the toilet didn't even stay up??? Breakfast was good though. Fish&chips at the restaurant was far from special, but chicken stir fry was really good. You HAVE to book your place to eat at the restaurant also.

great hostel on a gorgeous island! the atmosphere was great, great music, delicious food, really nice and friendly staff, clean room and bathroom, I recommend and would gladly come back!

really good the night we were there was session night and a group were actually talking so loudly over the musicians one musician had to let a growl . ssad cos loads of outside space for them to talk. great atmosphere other than that and no music or crowds heard in bedroom. walls a little thin in my bedroom in main house so could here other room chatting but nothing rowdy. it really is a great spot.

The hostel is nice, the breakfast is included and the staff is helpful. However, the bathroom was very dirty.

The staff was most welcoming and helpful even before coming there. I came by bus and was told to just let the driver know and he would let me off even though it wasn't an official stop - worked perfectly. The 4 persons female dorm was cozy and clean, the common areas in the house were also very welcoming to hand out by the fireplace. The pub was affordable and a good place to spend time. The breakfast was amazing. Fruit, bagels, eggs etc. I absolutely loved my stay there and will be back!!

I love the Valley House & stay here frequently. The staff, the restaurant, the bar, the music, the comfortable accommodation, it's all good, couldn't be better in fact. It's also incredibly affordable ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from me.

Parfait!!

Wonderful time at the Valley House ! Very friendly staff, excellent food, music sessions almost every evenning at the pub! Buses (line 450) available to Westport or Keel (Dooniger bus stop at the crossroad near the Hostel, there's no sign though...). A 5 days retreat on wild and peaceful Achill Island 🍀! I will come back for sure ❤!

Good, cheap accomodation on an otherwise busy/booked out everywhere else weekend! Bit far out from everything so would be hard without a car, but the bathroom was spotless, bed was comfy and breakfast was good!

Had a great night staying in the hostel , met so many local people, good music over in the pub , yeah its a sound hostel .

Wonderful little spot!

Fantastic spot. To have a pub on site is a brilliant feature. We were a large group and it saved us from having to herd cats from venue to venue over the weekend. Besides the dining area in the communal kitchen there is a large dinning room where breakfast of served. The host kindly let us use this room for a birthday celebration one of the nights, it worked out a treat and just added to the whole experience of the place.

Fabulous stay, staff so helpful and cheerful, restaurant food excellent, bar has great atmosphere its the best pint of Guinness I’ve had in a long time :) really great hostel highly recommend it I’ll be back! Plus almost forgot the bed was really comfortable,

Absolutely lovely place. Goods: staff were friendly and helpful, pub was lively, beds were surprisingly comfortable, rooms were beach themed, location remote and peaceful, restaurant and breakfast had gluten free options, everything was clean. Not so goods: beds were short (I'm 5 ft 6 and I barely fit), some things need help like the bedroom door and toilet seat, kitchen was fine but limited supplies (only one bowl that I found). No laundry but had bath towels. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Incredible place! Went as a solo traveller and the staff were kind, so ready to answer questions, and have my back! I stayed for three nights but wish I could’ve stayed forever. The property is gorgeous, it’s peaceful, and you’re close to keem beach and achill head which is a must see. The trad nights are so lovely and the bar is a great place to sit. Pat and Alice were lovely and have done a great job at creating a beautiful atmosphere.

Really comfortable and clean spot with great vibes! I loved how peaceful it was and the staff was great!
