- No nos permitieron el ingreso al hotel, habiendo pagado un transporte super costoso desde Barranquilla, y luego de Minca al hotel, porque no reciben menores de edad. Que clase de hotel no permite el ingreso de familias?. Me parece super irrespetuoso, que no avisaran antes, y super descortés que no asumirán el pago de nuestro transporte, dado que solo nos desplazamos desde otra ciudad para pasar tiempo en ese hotel. No recomiendo este tipo de practicas que van en contra de las personas, y el respecto que todos nos merecemos.
- I came to Minca two years ago, having fallen in love with this destination. So I decided to come back this year to celebrate Christmas at Masaya, which I had heard about, but I was simply VERY disappointed by the service offered, and I weigh my words. Already to get there, we are warned of the distance but not of the danger of the road which consists of a dizzying slope on a motorbike on dirt, becoming mud in rainy weather as in my case. But hey, I tell myself that it is part of the adventure. Then imagine my disappointment when I arrive and the hostel is full for Christmas, with prices higher than the rest of the year, but I am told (not by the reception) that the swimming pool has not been working since the day before. Guests have waited all day to enjoy it without success, because the staff told them that it would not take long to sort it out. In the evening, the special menu at 100,000 COP was almost imposed and only the pizzas on the menu were possible as a second choice, which I find a shame for backpackers like me with a small budget. The party atmosphere was nice but it's a shame that the food was served half cold for this price, and that they had to be reminded repeatedly about the glass of white wine that accompanied the vegetarian menu but which few staff seemed to be aware of. Then all the activities or almost all the activities offered like yoga are paid despite the exorbitant price of the dormitory. Speaking of the dormitory, it seemed dirty and smelled musty/moldy with all the damp things hanging in the 4 corners of the room. In short, not great for this price of dormitory. Meals including breakfast take at least half an hour to be served and you have to be patient every time you are hungry. To top it all off, while I had a 13-hour bus ride and had booked my taxi early in the morning, I was told at check-out that I had to wait due to an internet problem to pay my bill.
+ I highly NOT recommend this place, it was the worst of all the accommodations we tried in Colombia. It is very misleading that this place is mainly an Hostel (although not clear during the booking), so despite paying a very premium price for a double room we received a terrible treatment and the services quality of the lowest grade hostel (e.g. asked to clean yourself plates used for breakfast, room not cleaned, long waits to find anyone at the reception desk, people screaming and running around). If that is not enough, we also did not have warm water the first night and they seem to really not care as we had to remind them to fix it for 3 times the next days).
+ Staff from the bar and restaurant were very friendly and lovely.
- The drivers are terrible and take every penny they can. We had transportation booked at 10 but there was another couple going to the airport at 9. So I went to the front desk to change our transportation and this was okay for them. The morning we left, we shared the 4x4 with another couple. They had to go to the airport and we to minca. But the driver has to drive through Minca anyway so it seemed like a good idea to share the transport. But apparently the receptionist at the time forgot to remove our former transport reservation from 10am. They tried to blame us (?!). Then the driver got in the car and said we had to pay 100,000 extra. But he HAD TO drive through Minca. It's not like he had to drop us off at a different route. As they say in latin america: son unos picaros y son unos sinvergüenzas (!!!). For riding the same route he asked 280.000. Dont come here. There are better places. Excursions are very expensive. Birdwatching is 120.000. In other places its 70.000. Save your money.
+ The view was nice from the pool. The staff were friendly
- The rooms need a lot more insulation. There were bugs everywhere in my private room - on my pillows, within the lights. The bathroom had dead bugs so I’m assuming they do not clean thoroughly. I had to check out early and head to another property.

+ Het eten in het restaurant is heel behoorlijk. De ligging is mooi, maar moeilijk bereikbaar.
- Het resort is een hostel en geen hotel. We hadden prachtige foto’s gezien op booking.com. Het kamertje dat we kregen was klein en kaal. Twee oude handdoekjes kregen we meer niet. De vier sterren klopt absoluut niet. Misschien voor de backpackers, die hier verblijven. Alles is viezig. Van de bevlekte ligkussens vol hondenharen aan ‘t zwembad tot de oude smerige yogamatjes, die gebruikt worden. Als je boven de vijfentwintig bent, heb je hier niets te zoeken. Wij betaalden €143 voor één nacht. Veel te duur voor wat het resort biedt.
- De locatie is op het terrein van Victoria, de koffie plantage. Hierdoor moet je voor strikte tijden binnen zijn, rond 6 uur. Dit vond ik nogal irritant en beperkt je nogal.
+ Las vistas y la piscina.
- El lugar estaba lleno de cucarachas. Vimos varias en el bar y en la habitación. De hecho en la habitación eran gigantes. Entiendo que haya bichos porque está en mitad de la naturaleza, pero de ahí a que haya cucarachas en la habitación… es falta absoluta de higiene.
The location and overall layout of the hostel is great, and is what you're paying for. Cristian also ran a great waterfall hike and was incredible. Unfortunately, other than that, almost all other activities were cancelled over both days we were there, with staff acting like we were asking for a favour when inquiring about pre-scheduled events, which is the main thing to do as there isn't much of a party vibe, and you're pretty isolated. Deals found on booking/hostel world also aren't honoured.

This hostel was amazing! The surroundings are beautiful, the food is fantastic and the staff is really sweet and helpful. It’s a good mix between being able to relax but at the same time there are plenty of opportunities to be social. There are good activities in the evening, and the hostel offers tours as well. The atmosphere is great here!
+ Somos una pareja española que se alojó en el hotel 2 noches. Le doy un 10 en todo y eso es difícil en Colombia. Es un hotel en mitad de la sierra de difícil acceso ( hay que llegar en 4x4 o moto y son bastante caros) El personal agradable y ofrecen tours por la zona y actividades como yoga. Las habitaciones grandes y bonitas con cama y almohadas cómodas. El restaurante ofrece comidas y bebidas. El desayuno bueno. Creo que es el mejor hotel en el que me he hospedado en Colombia…

+ We really enjoyed our stay in Minca! I stayed in a private room with 3 friends, it was equipped with everything we needed and we also had a private bathroom. The true highlight of the stay was the hike in the jungle with Christian 🤩 we walked for around 4 hours but it was very chill, we stopped to get in the water in a waterfall and a river. Christian was also explaining landscapes, animals and whatever topic we were bringing up. Definitely recommended!
- Small remark: one of the single beds was very close to the ceiling
Staff were super welcoming and made sure there were interactive activities most nights which was nice! The view from the private room was absolutely stunning
+ Beautiful facility with an incredible view, pretty remote. Took 2 tours, one was the waterfall hike with Christian. Christian was such a thoughtful and informative tour guide. The hike was beautiful, and he did a wonderful job of sharing knowledge about the nature and history of the area, as well as encouraging us to enjoy the waterfalls and hike to its fullest! 10/10 tour guide. Our second activity was morning bird watching with Lorenzo. Lorenzo is a wealth of bird knowledge, and will even have the biggest bird skeptic excited about pigeons by the end! He worked hard to ensure we saw a toucan! Highly recommend booking both these activities with Christian and Lorenzo- really made our stay!

+ Uitzicht, warme douch, eten
- De weg erheen is de hel om daarna bij de heme uit te komen. Lol
+ Tiene una vista increíble y buenos desayunos. Además, está ubicada dentro de una propiedad privada extensa, así que hay mucha sensación de seguridad. Es una comunidad organizada con excelentes guías para tener las mejores experiencias recorriendo los alrededores del lugar y demás.
- Tal vez para mejorar incluir más opciones en el menú del restaurante, pues este sitio, al estar alejado del casco urbano, no permite optar por otros lugares para comer.. Por otro lado, el bar y psicina cierran temprano:(
Really beautiful location, dorms were clean. The 4x4 from Minca costs 140k COP flat fee so a bit pricey if travelling solo :)

We had the most amazing time here- all the staff were so lovely, hike was amazing, and the evening activities were so much fun! Thank you Luis for showing us the sacred side of the jungle and for Ma Jo for her reggaeton lesson! The ride in is a bit bumpy but definitely part of the experience, but we cannot recommend this hostel enough! Definitely a highlight!

+ Tuve una experiencia increíble en Masaya Casas Viejas. Es un lugar perfecto para desconectarse del ruido de la ciudad y reconectar con la naturaleza. El entorno es simplemente espectacular: montañas, aire puro y una tranquilidad que realmente se siente. Las instalaciones son muy cómodas y están pensadas para relajarse. Sin duda es un sitio que recomendaría y volvería.

+ Situation et la piscine
+ Staff were fantastic, particularly Luis in the restaurant, Christian’s tour and Maria’s salsa class. Room was very comfy. Lots of activities, great pool area.
- It is quite remote which was great for us but just mentioning as might be less suitable for those wanting to use Minca town
