Mega View Homestay

Staff were unhelpful and aggressive. I got woken up to get shouted at over the phone by the owner about this review (posted on google earlier after feeling disgruntled with the treatment following a lost item). The staff turned the lights on to bring me the owner on the phone, woke me up 3 times and then left the lights on and door open when he left the room. The owner was neurotic and was throwing the hostel cat around, which was stressful. They also cancelled my trip to avoid this review.

. The hostel, location and staff are really great but they have a serious bed bug problem in the dorms and they are also damp. Staff are trying their best by spraying the mattresses daily but I don't think that should be the solution and blaming new occupants doesn't help. The dorms should be closed when they know the beds are infected.

The hostel smelt really badly of damp and the rooms were dark. Even the sheets on the bed felt damp. There was also so little room for bags and moving around the room

Unfortunately the picture doesn’t match and I ended up in a 6 bed dorm. It was 3 bunk beds that all touch, so you’re literally inches away from a stranger. Oh an no AC. Worst dorm I’ve seen so far.

Has the potential to be a great hostel but receptionist/ owner was nothing but rude and unhelpful. Room smelt like mould and damp and toilet was blocked the whole of my stay.

Staff were lovely and it is definitely a budget hostel. The dorm I was in was tiny! Felt like people were breathing on me. Main reason for the low rating was the cat. I think people should be made aware if there are animals in the property. I am allergic to cats and don’t appreciate finding on in my bed!! Even with the curtains shut haha. No fault of the owners just wish they’d have told me in advance as it’s not very hygienic

Apparently it’s better to stay at a private room, because I didn’t really like my experience at the dorm. As soon as you come in you can feel a strong humid smell, no windows at all, the roof is full of mold, my curtains didn’t gave privacy at all and the breakfast was also so bad. Here you have to pay for drinking water and even for leaving your luggage (first time ever that I get charge for that). Not friendly at all.

Very good location - just in the center! Although there is no view from the rooms as I expected - the dorms are in the basement, but there is a rooftop from where you can enjoy the view. Breakfast is not included but you can buy it cheap at the hostel.

Very nice hostel! Can't beat that price. Nice staff, clean rooms, cozy common areas.

The staff were amazing! The most hospitable owners yet, it made me feel so welcome. The hostel itself is friendly and cozy, very easy to meet people and they run great day trips too, I really enjoyed the 1 day trekking. Location is great and would defo recommend going for breakfast option, it doesn’t disappoint!!!

Nice place good view

Nice Hostel. Wasn’t super social. Did start chatting to some girls in my room and managed to socialise. But the Hostel did not facilitate events for you to get to know other travelers. The man on the front desk was a bit pushy about using him and the Hostel for local trekking, booking Fansipan ect. He got annoyed with me when I explained that my bus dropped me off at 4 am and I had to find a different Hostel with a 24 hour check in. But besides from that, it was a pleasant stay.

War nicht sehr happy mit meinem Aufenthalt. Die Matratze ist sehr hart, es gibt kein Licht am Bett und wir hatten die eine Katze im Zimmer, die durchs Fenster kam und eine tote Eidechse mitbrachte. Für das Frühstück muss man extra zahlen, obwohl hier auf Hostelworld steht, dass es inbegriffen ist. Das Hostel ist nicht wirklich social und hat irgendwie weirde Vibes. Unteranderem durch den Mitarbeiter, der einem Hikingtouren verkaufen will und permanent fragt, was man macht.

Gut gelegene Unterkunft wenn man mit dem Nachtbus ankommt und innerhalb der Stadt bleiben will. Personal ist nett und hilfsbereit, Frühstück war in Ordnung aber die Betten könnten mal erneuert werden, sowie die Vorhänge vor den Betten. Die Bettwäsche war auch nicht mehr besonders schön und wirkte etwas dreckig. Aber es gibt noch ein Bett im Gemeinschaftsraum welches ich nutzen durfte als das Hostel ausgebucht war und ich erst mit dem Bus am nächsten Tag fahren konnte

Lovely host, beautiful room

Fantastic stay everything was neat and tidy. The staff were very nice especially the owner. The owner was full of charm and humour. He has great cafe for his homestay, visible around the building. would recommend tk anyone.

It was in a decent location not too far from the main centre of Sapa down some stairs. The room I was in was very small and there was very little space to move around or for luggage bags. Wasn’t much going on in the place but did manage to meet some nice people!

One word: awesome! Very happy with my stay here. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. I booked one night but needed two, unfortunately it was fully booked the second night, but the staff still found a way to fit me in! Thank you for this!! The place is definitely not a party hostel, but the people are still so social. Definitely a chill place where you can still interact.

Alright hostel. The Funny Room (literally what it’s called) has got to be the weirdest bed arrangement I have ever seen. The rooms also end up being super damp in the morning but I guess that’s what happens when you’re 2,000m above sea level. The breakfast in the morning is neat and the cat that hangs around is pretty humorous.

Actually this is not bad, I do love staying here and close to everything. Nice staff and clean place.

Il y a un long chemin en escaliers , en pente et glissants quand il pleut. Dommage que ce ne soit pas mentionné car l’accès n’est vraiment pas pratique avec une valise. Et à la c’est pire.

Dormroom ohne Fenster und viel zu eng und dunkel da keine Lampen an den Betten sind. an sich nettes Hostel aber habe seltsame Leute dort getroffen und aus irgendeinem Grund mussten zwei Personen in einem Hochbett im Gemeinschaftsraum schlafen der dazu auch noch komplett kalt war wegen einer tür mit riesigem Schlitz die direkt nach draußen führt. frühstück war gut.

The man in charge had very good English & very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area ect They let us check in late & leave our bags on the last day It just had a funny smell & there are cats incase you don’t like that If you had bad mobility this isn’t the hostel for you as there are ALOT of steps

Totalmente recomendable, muy buenas instalaciones aunque el rooftop lo tienen un poco dejado. El desayuno es muy básico pero decente. Hicimos el tour de Sapa con ellos y fue genial, incluso nos dejó ducharnos y cambiarnos al volver aunque ya habíamos hecho el check out. Mil gracias, repetiría sin duda

O staff e extremamente simpático e prestável, ajudou com tudo o que precisei e fez sugestões valiosas. O pequeno almoço é muito bom e definitivamente que compensa. Os quartos são pequenos mas confortáveis. A única desilusão é mesmo a vista, pois apenas é possível observá-la no último piso, onde existe um terraço mas muito mal aproveitado. A localização não é a mais fácil de aceder mas para backpackers jovens funciona bem.
