Blue Diamond Hostel

+ I chose this option just to rest for a few hours since my car broke down and I had to go to the mechanic. I arrived at this facility thinking I could rest. Okay, they gave me the room. The first thing I noticed was that there was no cleaning. The lack of a fan was the least of my worries. Once I lay down, a few hours later, bugs started crawling out everywhere. I had to get up and leave the hotel because they were all over the bed. I only managed to record and take pictures of what was left in the box once I got them off me. My experience was terrible.

- UNPROFESSIONAL!!! The staff were rude to us on our arrival, and told us that they cancelled our rooms (on our arrival) that we booked. They said they sent us an email about the cancellation at around 3PM at the same day, but the email didn’t arrive to us until we drove around the city for hours in order to find a new place to stay after they cancelled our rooms (around 6:30PM). It was the Khmer New Year, it was hard for us to find a place to stay and they cancelled us without any notice in advance.

- pre paid for a room for two nights. When i arrived (after paying for a taxi etc) they told me they overbooked the hotel. I later learned this is a veryyyy common occurrence for this hostel. They never cancelled my booking on this website so im still waiting for a refund.... and booking.com is ignoring my requests for help

+ La piscine et l'environnement verdoyant

- Pas de clim dans les chambres. Juste ventilo qui brasse lair chaud. Matelas et oreillers durs comme de la pierre. Draps douteux. Quand nous prenions notre douche, de l'évacuation, sortait du papier WC usagé... salle de bain et wc sales. Le tapis de bain, n'en parlons pas. Baie vitrée cassée. Laundry qui a abîmé nos vêtements. 3eme étage où nous n'avons aucune aide pour porter nos valises. Portes qui claquent sans cesse. Ça ressemble à une auberge de jeunesse. 3 nuits les pires de tout nos voyages. Réception sans sourire ... heureusement les hommes qui servent au bar relèvent le niveau des autres employés. Dommage qu'il n'y ait que des points négatifs car cet hotel pourrait avoir un bon potentiel. Nous n'y reviendrons pas, ça c'est sur

- A notre arrivée on nous a demandé de payer la chambre alors que nous avions payé sur Booking. A notre départ lors du paiement des consommations sur place on nous a encore demandé de payer notre chambre. De plus nous avons subi une fête de village qui a duré toute la nuit avec un bruit impossible pour dormir. Pour terminer j’ai oublié mes AirPods dans ma chambre j’ai voulu le signaler à l’hôtel pour qu’il les gardent de côté en sachant que j’avais la localisation de mes AirPods activé qui montrait bien qu’ils étaient dans la chambre.

- I am currently in communication with booking.com to complain about this property as the images do not match the actual rooms! I booked the double room, when I checked into the room I thought.... I didn't book this room? This room is a gross, I'd never stay somwhere this bad! There wasn't even a bed, it's planks of wood screwed together! A make shift 'desk' area that's just scrap wood screwed to a wall with a curtain rail as clothes rail! The 'headboard' was a metal pipe with wood shoved on top! NOT the room in the photo! The bathroom was yellow with filth ! Fan disgusting snd dusty! I asked to be moved rooms to... I dunno... the one I actually booked? But they said no! Sadly I HAD to stay the night as no other accommodation was avaible and I couldn't get a bus back to siem reip till the next day. I felt dirty staying in the room and woke up full of cold from the dusty room. The 'towels' provided are not towels and CERTAINLY not the pretty displays they are in the photos. I hate feeling lied to and hate feeling like someone's just money grabbing which they are here. As I say, I'm speaking with booking.com to make sure this place takes photos of the actual room you are staying in and stop lying to paying people! Also good was horrible just to stop off my waste of a visit to this place.

+ Nous avons passé deux mois dans ce logement, en raison d’un stage au cambodge. Dans l’ensemble pour le rapport qualité prix tout est ok. Pour un cours séjour c’est correct. Le service de lingerie est appréciable, en 24h celui ci est effectué.

- En revanche, nous qui avons vécu deux mois là-bas nous avons constatée certaines choses. La communication du personnel entre eux est médiocre. Les informations/messages ne sont pas passés. A plusieurs reprises des effets personnels ont été jetés par les femmes de ménages. Alors que nous les avions informés de ne rien toucher. Nos casques de scooter ont été volé alors que leur parking est dit « sécurisé ».

- Paid for an air con room and it wasn’t strong at all, only positive was there was a fan and air con but could definitely do with improving that system. However they offered to change our room and couldn’t do more to help they were brilliant but the air con was the same in each room we tried.

+ Posto fantastico, la piscina è un plus visto le temperature, il personale sempre attento e mai invadente, finalmente un terrazzo!!!

+ The best value for money place we have stayed at in south East Asia. Beautiful room and a pool for such a cheap price. Honestly can't get any better. T Staff were super friendly and helpful too. They had a delicious pineapple curry on their menu which I haven't been able to find anywhere else. I highly recommend trying it

- Malheureusement la Clim dans la chambre ne fonctionnait pas et l’établissement est assez loin de restaurant à pied mais en tuktuk très proche

+ Cet établissement mérite beaucoup plus de succès ! Le rapport qualité-prix est formidable. La piscine est super : filet de volley, ballons, transats… et des serviettes sont mises à disposition pour la piscine. Le service de restauration est sympa, avec des prix raisonnables, pas plus élevés que dans un restaurant classique. Le personnel est très gentil. Il y a plein de chiens, ce qui rend l’expérience encore plus mignonne. L’établissement est à 10 minutes du centre, mais ça ne nous a pas du tout gênés. Au vu du petit prix, je mettrais même 11/10 !

- Petit point négatif : pas de climatisation dans la chambre. Quand on y est habitué, ça peut manquer. En revanche, il semble y en avoir dans certaines chambres triples. (C’était inscrit dans l’annonce donc pas de surprise)

+ Nice spacious bedrooms and the food of the hostel was good and decently priced! The pool is amazing, really warm water until the late hours of the day

- It didn’t offer nor have a machine for guests to fill their water bottle and have access to mineral water at all times. I think it should be mandatory to have free access to mineral water given that it is water but that’s the only thing, besides that it was an amazing stay!

+ Nice helpful staff, comfortable bed, fan was okay to sleep and there was a mini fridge to keep the food cold :) Pool area big enough and clean toilets by the pool

- Pool water was green haha but refreshing anyway! It is true that there is a lot of dogs … we like dogs but yeah when you come back at night they follow you real close barking, could be annoying.
