Sukia Hostel

+ The cabin was nice. The bed was comfortable, there was a small private patio with a garden view which was very enjoyable.

- The hospitality and the kitchen. Communication with the host was not smooth, trips were not arranged, requested breakfast was not there when we needed it. The kitchen was really dirty. Our last night coincided with a kareoke night, which we were not informed about. Music volume was horrendous, literal rammstein blasting through our cabin.

+ De locatie is mooi in de natuur. Rustig gelegen.

- Douches waren koud. Er is geen receptie. Ik kwam aan bij het hostel een meisje op de bank te chillen. Ik dacht dat ze hostelgast was. Ze zei verder niets. Later bleek dat zij bij het hostel werkte. Dat ik daar een half uur aan het wachten was om in te checken, deerde haar kennelijk niet. Toen ik haar vroeg of ik ergens kon inchecken, stond ze eindelijk op. Verder was ze tijdens het verblijf ook erg ongeïnteresseerd. Er werkte wel een aardige Spaanse jongen, maar hij was niet zo goed op de hoogte van het reilen en zeilen. De gemeenschappelijke keuken was smoezelig, en zonder goed keukengerei. De goederen uit de restaurantkeuken -even smoezelig- mochten niet gebruikt worden. Ook de koelkasten waren ronduit smerig. Tussentijds werden de prullenbakken in de wc niet verschoond, en werd de handzeeppomp niet gevuld. Al met al een smoezelige bedoeling.

+ Remote and quiet location. Activities every other evening were enjoyable but disinterestedly run by the manager so we had to keep them going ourselves

- Little chill space, very dirty kitchen with few utensils, manager seemed averse to basic upkeep such as replacing the water dispenser, dorms had little security and the beds were rickety and uncomfortable, most tasks left to 1 or 2 volunteers

- La cuisine était sale potentiellement pas entretenue. Les équipements de cuisine vétustes. Le frigo est vieux, la poignée est brisée. Le four est très vieux. Le prix du lavage est exorbitant, nous avons des doutes sur la pesée qui a été effectuée. 20$ pour un sac de vêtements certes humide.

+ El entorno y las instalaciones.

+ Super friendly management and volunteers. Good quick stop before a fantastic hike organised by Sukia travel.

- Bathrooms needed a little attention.

+ Surrounded by nature, short walk to bars/restaurants

- I would have liked a mosquito net. Although there were no mosquitos, just would have offered peace of mind for a city gal!

+ Sehr Abgeschiedene Lage und er Natur, schöne kleine Hütte zu zweit für einen guten Preis.

- Bett war sehr ungemütlich, Stühle auf dem Balkon oÄ haben gefehlt, Küche sehr dreckig, Weg zum Hostel ist anstrengend.

+ La situación del hostel es espectacular. Es como si durmieras en el Medio de la selva. También hicimos el tour con travel Sukia de dos días en La Sirena y fue estupendo. Nos encantó. Y sobretodo quiero felicitar al guía que nos tocó. Evaristo o Everest para los amigos. Gracias Everest por enseñarnos tanto y transmitir tu amor por tu tierra, Corcovado.

- Tuvimos algún malentendido con el precio. No coincidía con el de booking.

- Small detail - some hot water fur the shower. But no big deal!

+ El hermoso espacio verde alrededor sin dudas. Vi monos, agoutis, lagartijas, sapos, ranas y aves, solo por estar ahí. Tenía un restaurante, pero solo abría en temporada alta al parecer. (La mekor cuchilla que he encontrado en un hostel jaja). Lavaron mi ropa en cuestión de un par hs nomás. Los más simpáticos fueron los voluntarios sin dudas.

- So no te toca en cama con llegada a ventilador buena podrias pasar calor de noche. No vi casi otro personal aparte de los voluntarios y limpieza. No me molestó tanto porque ya sabía que quería hacer desde antes de llegar.

+ The location is a yes and no - amazing place away from town and into the jungle. I saw iguanas and birds. Since it is located up on the hill it is on the way to an amazing hike towards a river. Lea, the volunteer, was sweet and helpful and answered all my weird questions. She gives a great vibe to the hostel! My room was really clean, the terrace as well, inviting to walk bear foot. A good place to stay before and after jungle tours, keeping most of the luggage safe with them.

- Location, as amazing as it is near the forest, hostel is up the hill and this may not bother an average hiker, but I'm quite a bit lame and lazy when needed to carry my heavy luggage up there especially if it's during the heat. There are taxis that will take you there but they are not exactly cheap.
