Yakety Yak Hostel

We booked a private room but hot water works on solar system and no geyser. How the sunlight is supposed to work it in winters

The hostel is nice but extremely quiet compared to others in the area so not great for meeting people.

Clean hostel centrally located. Not much of a social vibe though. Masala tea was delicious. Staff were helpful but they did misplace my laundry bag but was later returned

Gute Unterkunft, Lage ist mitten in Thamel und dadurch ist es nachts relativ laut. das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Aber das Hostel ist nicht besonders sozial.

Great stuff

Staff are friendly and service-minded, yet a few details kept it from being a fully satisfying stay. The first night I had a hot shower, but on the following nights there was no hot water at all, even during the daytime. The bathroom area also had a strong ammonia smell, likely from poor drainage. Some wall hangers in the shower were loose, and toilet paper was often unavailable. These seem like issues that could be easily fixed with better maintenance. On the positive side, staff were excellent

Loved my stay! Did one of the private rooms - was lovely. Chilled out atmosphere which was suited me perfectly. The food at the on site restaurant is so good and the people who run the restaurant are so lovely. All the staff are. Convenient location. Highly recommend

A very comfortable and chill hostel with a nice restaurant and very friendly staff. The hostel is very good for the cheap price so I would recommend it to travellers

I had a great, relaxing stay here. I rated low for security because the lockers are not big enough and there are no locks on the doors. The food on-site is really good and made by a lovely family (although the communication can be a bit rough with their low level of English and there were some mis-communications with food). I implore the hostel to purchase blackout blinds for travellers without sleeping masks because the lights that come from outside make it like a constant nightclub in the room

Yakety yak was a great hostel to stay at in thamel. We stayed in both the dorms and private rooms and both were great. The people were so friendly and welcoming as well. I’d recommend this place to anyone staying in thamel before trekking.

I loved my stay at Yakety Yak Hostel and would always book it again. It’s a good vibe and the staff is amazing, I felt really welcomed here.

Best hostel there could be. I stayed in a massive and nicely laid out private room that I loved. Staff was awesome, food is perfect and vibe was second to none.

I had a wonderful stay at Yaketi Yak Hostel! The common area/terrace is really nice and cozy and the staff is super friendly and helpful. You can easily book trekkings via this hostel and the staff assisted me very well with the planning of my hiking trip. Would definitely recommend this hostel!

Great place to stay in Kathmandu. Very central. Nice staff. Helped book our bus to Chitwan
