+ The location is good and staff at the reception were very nice and helpful.
- The rooms were not clean, the facilities were poor, some the A/c was not working (so the reception staff kindly changed the room) then the doors of the new room did not close. Maintenance was called in to sort it out. The swimming pool was not clean as nearby construction dust was all on the water and the gym was being painted and full of paint smell.

- construction works are on process, swimming pool not available, gym not available, no propper instructions, kettle broken coffee machine broken, no iron room verry small coubord without hangers

- I called to the hotel to check room available at night time since I wanted to find a good room. But the receptionist told me that the hotel fully booked even though I was explaining rooms are showing in booking. Com. I made the reservation and went to the hotel . Then she said , yes we have higher categories. It’s not professional at all. At the arrival there were 4 to 5 staffs around and nobody came to assist with luggage until I reach to the front seat with my own ( You can check your CCTV) . I paid LKR 40,000/- and the room I received was horrible. Dirty bedsheets , full of dust , washroom was dirty , no water provided . Then provided another room better than the previous one but it’s not worth for money which I paid. I have shown lots of places were full of dust to the staffs . I stayed in the same premises way back in 2017 or 2018 and it’s a disaster now .
- The bathroom was very old and not clean. The food was not tasty and there was no variety. They did not provide an iron or even basic items like toothpaste. Overall, it was not worth the money.

- ## Disappointing Stay at Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo - Avoid Until Major Improvements This review is for Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo, where we recently stayed from **November 7th, 2024 to November 8th, 2024**. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of the luxurious 4-star hotel advertised online. **False Advertising and Room Downgrade:** Upon arrival, we were **not informed** that the Panorama Suite we booked wouldn't be available. Instead, they placed us in a significantly downgraded room with a price difference they refused to acknowledge. The hotel's pictures on Booking.com are wildly misleading compared to the actual state of the property. **After inquiring**, they told us we received a different room because the Panorama Suite wasn't suitable for a child due to heat (an excuse that doesn't hold water). **Poor Maintenance and Hygiene:** The entire hotel, including our room, lacked proper maintenance. Cobwebs hung in the dimly lit bathroom, and dust covered most surfaces. The experience was further marred by a potential roach sighting in the night. Bath towels were old and worn out, and **no hand/face towels or room slippers were provided**. **Advertised amenities were missing** as well. They did not provide a baby cot, and their version of a "sofa bed" was far from comfortable (picture attached). The extra bed had dusty and rusted metal legs, and the TV from the living area was missing entirely. We were hesitant to even open the curtains for fear of more dust falling into the room. [You can upload a picture of the "sofa bed" here if you have one] **Unhelpful Staff and Unsanitary Breakfast:** The staff were unhelpful in addressing our concerns about the downgraded room. They offered no apologies or solutions, only excuses. The breakfast buffet was another low point. The food was unappetizing, with flies hovering over everything.

They refused, and unfortunately I was forced to leave because of the time of the plane. I lost $500 لقد سرقوا المال من غرفتي شخص ما سرق المال من غرفتي عندما قلت لموظفي الاستقبال استمروا في المماطلة طلبت منهم فحص كاميرات المراقبة القريبة من غرفتي، لكنهم رفضوا ظللت أنتظر طوال اليوم الرد منهم حاولت الاتصال بالشرطة لكنهم لم يحضروا وأخيراً أبلغني المسؤول الأمني، واسمه يوسف قام بفحص الكاميرات فقلت له إنني لم أصدقه وأن من حقي أن أفحص الكاميرا وقت مغادرتي. رفضوا، وللأسف اضطررت للمغادرة بسبب موعد الطائرة. لقد خسرت 500 دولار

- This was the worst hotel I had stayed in Sri Lanka. Please avoid this hotel as you are able to find much better hotels for the same price around Colombo. The hotel is old and the rooms are dirty with flies in them. The bathrooms have black mould . Air conditioning does not work properly and I was moved to a different room and the air conditioning was not working on that either. I booked the hotel for two days but I had checked out after one night due to the Condition. The customer service was very poor and the management did not care about my complaint. Breakfast had limited choices and not something you would expect for the price you pay. The breakfast was meant to be starting at 0700 and was not ready until 0730. AVOID this hotel for disappointment and bad image for Sri Lankan tourism.

+ Gute Lage, sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet, sehr nette Mitarbeiter!
- Große Wohnung mit Küche sogar, aber warum gibt es in der Küche keine Geschirr, kein Besteck und keine Töpfe oder Pfannen, dass man sich Essen zubereiten könnte? Das ist unlogisch! Der Abfluss der Dusche war sehr dreckig und leider voller fremder Haare! Wenn das Personal die Himmer reinigten, hatten sie zwar die alten Handtücher mitgenommen, aber jeine neuen hingelegt! Häufig hatten wir beim zurückkehren vom Ausflug nur ein Handtuch zur Verfügung und mussten uns selber Handtücher besorgen! Das Bett war leider sehr wackelig und hat stark gequitscht!
