Space Garden Hostel Mirissa

Un hostel cero social.

Had a very weird stay. It all looks closed from outside. No key to any door, so everyone could walk in the rooms. I booked a 4 dorm, but got a 8 dorm. No one in the reception when we had to check out. But a nice location to the city and beach. Not a social place

We were greeted by Sahan with a very tasty smoothie and a beautiful rooftop view. The rooms have big lockers which you can lock with a key as well as with your own padlock. The location is convenient - close to the beach, yet not on the main road, surrounded by shops. Breakfast was not in the hostel, but in a hotel nearby. Sahan was really helpful and provided everything we asked for. Also the dorms were cleaned daily - something that I have not experienced in any other dorm in Sri Lanka!

Very good location in the centre of mirissa. Nice clean beds with curtains for privacy which was really nice. There are lockers to store things in though not the most secure as I’m pretty sure all of the keys opened all of the lockers though I had no problems personally with security/ losing things. We had an early night by choice but from what I heard/ gathered I think there was good opportunity to socialise/ have some drinks with music in the evenings upstairs. Overall good hostel :)

Enjoyed our stay overall. Sahan (owner) was very helpful, accomodating and created a nice environment for the hostel. Rooms were clean though no hot water in the shower. Great location as close to the beach and slightly away from the main road. Would recommend :)

owner is a very entertaining and sweet guy, hostel seemed cool and was a comfortable space but was pretty empty when i was there. If you want to chill in Mirissa only then its a good place, butI had more fun when I moved to Weligama

Nous avons passé un beau séjour au Space Garden. Sahan est un hôte très serviable et à l’écoute, toujours prêt à aider ses invités. Le déjeuner gratuit était vraiment excellent : thé ou café, fruits, oeuf/pain/crêpe/hoppers, ça varie ! Le ménage est fait régulièrement, les chambres sont confortables (rideaux/lockers) et le AC fonctionne bien. Seul bémol nous n’avons pas rencontré beaucoup d’autres backpackers et il n’y a pas d’activités organisées par l’hostel. ...

Nice quiet hostel. good free breakfast. however i think there needs to be a fan aswell in the room as the AC was useless. also i think installing a curtain over the bathroom door would be nice. at times it can be slightly see through. not very private.

Hostel was pretty good. In a very good location if you want to go to Mirissa beach but that’s about it. The beds were okay & we had a storage locker with a key. Staff were friendly but the overall vibe was a bit dead

Nice, clean and ac!! Not very social because the restaurant is the common area. I think once the rooftop is done it will be perf 👌🏽

Loved this place. Very close to the beach, rooms are very spacious with big lockers. Breakfast was a bit different each time and delicious. Staff was welcoming and very helpful. Would stay here again for sure.

The hostel is very nice and comes with breakfast included. The owner very nice and helpful with anything we needed. There is a rooftop Barand pingpong table. But when we were staying there, there was only one other person so not really any party vibes, but the location would be good for that. Great stay in total.

By far and away the best hostel I have ever stayed in. Not only did it have a perfect 3 min walk to the beach, it was clean with comfy beds and aircon. The best part was without doubt the host Sahan who was the kindest & most helpful owner you could imagine! My bank card was retained by an ATM and he immediately got on the phone to the bank and organised me to collect my card the next day when they estimated a 3 day wait. Next time I’m in Sri Lanka I’m coming to Mirissa just for him!

very nice place and sahan is the nicest host i’ve met on my trip. He always says he lives in the paradise and all his guests are his angels. I think that sums up what kind of human he is. Feels like a safe space where you can be who you want to be. Also met very nice people there :)

Wir hatten einen super Aufenthalt im Space Garden. Sahan ist ein sehr freundlicher, lustiger und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen !

Really good and clean hostel super close to the beach and the main road. Lots of things in walking distance. Curtains and lockers provided even a little balcony which was nice. Not a lot going on upstairs but was still a cool vibe

Really enjoyed my stay here & would recommend it to travellers after a more chilled vibe. Not majorly social (no group chat or planned activities) but the hostel owner is very friendly and always happy to help & recommend things. There is a good chill out/bar area which is super comfy. Beds also very comfortable with curtains. They do a very good breakfast in their hotel around the corner too! Loved the location and easy to walk places. Shops are close by. Cool rooftop area too.

The owner is trying to do his best to have a nice stay, he is very kind. The Hostel is very clean. The breakfast is great.

Un hostel cero social.

Perfect location, extremely clean, AC runs ice cold and awesome vibes!! The biggest reason to stay here is the owner, Sahan. He treated us like old friends and was incredibly warm and helpful. He's working his way through renovations and no doubt this'll soon be the coolest hostel in Mirissa! Also...only hostel I've ever been to that gives 2 pillows, can't beat that.

I loved my stay here because of Sahan. He was very helpful with finding what I needed in the area. He was kind and friendly. They are just starting to open back up after Covid so it’s not super busy which was great for me. Sahan and his crew are very busy getting everything up and running. Wifi works great and it’s a neat space. I highly recommend checking it out.

Gutes Hostel mit erstklassiger Lage. Nur wenige Meter vom Strand entfernt und rundherum super viele Möglichkeiten lecker und günstig essen zu gehen. Super war die Klimaanlage und das inkludierte Frühstück. Minuspunkt dafür, dass es auch auf Nachfrage keine Seife im Bad gab. Sorry aber das ist einfach Basic Hygiene gerade nach COVID!!! Es war leider gar nichts los also kein wirklicher Ort um Leute kennenzulernen

Had a very nice stay at Space Garden. The staff is so friendly and always ready to offer help. And you'll even get a welcome drink! The location is perfect and everything was clean - it also had curtains in the dorm!! (big plus) I was alone im the 8-bed-dorm so I can't really say a lot about the atmosphere. The free breakfast was very nice! In the end I was able to leave my luggage there during the day before I had leave.
