Bed Bugs!!!

I was very disappointed when we arrived. the room did not have a van, AC or a musquito net and was filles with musquitos. we decided to not sleep in the hostal and booked another one. i asked if we could get a discount bc we didnt even make the room dirty and sadly we had to pay 100% for the 3 nights.

Saw two cockroaches walking near my bed and there was unidentifiable stuff in my bed. (Lots of small black dots) Staff was nice but the owner was unfriendly. No family vibe.

I’m not sure why this hostel has such good reviews. It was one of the worst ones I’ve seen. Rooms and beds are really old. The showers are barely functional. We stayed out all day a week wouldn’t have to come back - luckily Antigua is an easy place to do that.

Didnt have the room we booked and they made us pay extra for another room that would better suit our needs. Staff is friendly but the owners, not as much

Be Careful! Someone stole money from my bag in a locked private room while I went out to eat. I talked to the owners who said they would investigate but never heard anything back.

Oscar at the front desk was lovely but the owner is horrible. Don't give him your business. They tried to sneak in a 5% currency surcharge. We refused to pay more than the amount confirmed in the booking email and the owner got angry about it. My friend and I were given a double bed room and not the twin room we had booked. We asked for the room we had booked and the owner told us to take our money back and go somewhere else, then canceled our reso to try to prevent us from leaving a bad review.

For 1 night okay and the lication was good.

OK breakfast and 2 staff are kind, but that's it. Feel like shaking hands with the guy sleeping next to you? The crowded dorm with ancient beds is for you. Unbelievable no-one's mentioned it. Facilities old and badly designed. No atmosphere. Tried to bail after a night but the hard-nosed owner wasn't having a bar of it. No family vibes here! All about $$$. Don't book Acatenango with them either - you're lumped with Barco Tours, a clumsy cowboy operation with a dreadful base camp. Look elsewhere.

Excellent budget hotel, if you like classic house-like stay in Antigua, love the feeling of bein in home, and the staff is quite courteous, totally recommended

Offre un petit déjeuner très bon! Le personnel est vraiment gentil et répond directement à tes questions. Pas compliqué je recommande !

La meilleure chose de mes deux jours ici aura été le petit-déj (et la dame). Sinon, les dortoirs pourraient être ouverts les uns sur les autres, absolument aucun intimité avec rideau etc. Le pire : j'ai demandé s'il y avait une heure maximum pour rentrer après une soirée (alors que c'est expressément noté que non), le monsieur de l'accueil m'a répondu « oui, minuit parce qu'après c'est un peu trop tard ». J'ai dormi chez une amie. J'ai donc payé pour rien cette 2è nuit.

This place was awesome, more on the quiet and relaxing smaller side than party side. If you’re looking for a nice family run place that feels like home stay here!

Great location in the centre of town, the owner was very nice and they let you keep your bags there after check out. The rooms were homely and comfy with a big bathroom. Defo recommend

The owner is very nice & the breakfast looked fine - I didn’t get to eat it because I had to leave early. But you had no place to store your belongings or lock anything. Everyone had access to every room. It was incredibly loud due to traffic. The walls are thin and some hostel guests had friends over after a party which was extremely annoying. I wasn‘t able to sleep at all. Als the hostel isn‘t really made to connect with other people. But it is very cheap compared to other hostels.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, es war sehr gemütlich und das Peronal total nett. Das Frühstück war auch toll. Ich würde wieder kommen.

nice cute property with a good breakfast; the private room was fine but two private rooms share a window which means you can hear everything from next door making it less private😂all in all good for a short stay

Sehr freundliches Personal und super schöner Innenbereich. Auch das Frühstück ist top! Wir haben die Wanderung zum Acatenango auch über das Hostal gebucht. Es war wirklich sehr schön.

Nice and cheap hostel, a bit far from other things, but quiet at night which is nice. If you don’t book your volcano or other tours through them you have to pay 50Q a day to store your bag which felt odd after staying there already. I could see how with the right people it could be social, but it was fully booked and still not social when I went. Nothing fancy, but has breakfast at 730 so could eat before hiking! Their drinking water tasted really bad, need new filters or something.

I had a room with 3 beds for myself with shared toilet & shower. This worked well, although at times you have to wait for using the only sink to brush teeth etc. A shared kitchen can be used & the facilities are basic, but the staff clean all common spaces at least once a day. Breakfast is served very kindly and with some variation. Also the bed was quite comfortable. It can get fairly warm in the room with no fans, but you can chill in the court yard. There are lockers for smaller items.

Really nice hostel, everything is clean, hot showers, nice backyard with some green plants to chill, 2 lovelly cats. The street can be a bit loud, but I think that's everywhere the case in Antigua. Private rooms are very well, especially for that price. Breakfast included! Would come again.

Awesome value as an accommodation in Antigua. Pretty courtyard, and a good place to hangout. Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was dank. Pretty no frills, affordable option. Would stay here again.
