YHA Grasmere Butharlyp Howe

Beautifull setting almost in Grasmere centre. Was given a room in an adjacent building with steps down to a very compact sml room below ground level. Facilities were clean. Hand dryer in shared toilet did not work. Outside shower cubicle dangerously wet after use. Car park some distance from main building. Has bike shed but difficult to get key after 11am or before 5pm as desk closed. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast.

Lovely location

really ideal for us as backpackers in grasmere. great kitchen and free washer and dryer which is awesome. also location is great and the property is really pretty. but definitely not a young crowd and the atmosphere is lacking, but you won't find any better in grasmere. also a bit pricey for the basic private room given toilets are shared and the beds are just bunks. but overall we recommend this hostel.

I was sadly disappointed with Grasmere YH. The resources were poor for visitors who were self catering. The later check in was difficult in the dark, the walk up to the YH was poorly lit and the car park was very small. I would not recommend this YH

Great place for all our walks, 2 minutes walk from the centre . lovely and friendly staff. We will be back

Everything was great although I do think 5pm is a very late check in also I think it should state in your booking if you are not staying in the main building.

Stayed four nights in the hostel and have no complaints. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was neat and clean, the location excellent, and set in a beautiful location. Will certainly recommend to friends and very much hope to stay there next time I’m in the Lakes!
