- They gave my booked budget double room to another guest and offered me a dorm bed instead! It was an extremely frustrating experience. The person at the reception didn't even bother to say 'sorry' for the mistake. When I refused to stay in the dorm, he took my phone and canceled my booking before I could even realize what was happening. His behavior was highly offensive and unacceptable.
+ There was nothing to like about.
- The rooms were smaller than in the photo, bathrooms and bedsheets were unclean, the host/owner was very rude, our door knob wasn't working and he scolded me upon complaining about it, the rooms were extremely cold and dusty, the property was in an off location, the owner was extremely offensive and dominating...... Me and my friend felt extremely unsafe and wanted to checkout as soon as possible but he tried to overcharge us...... We didn't even had our breakfast next morning because we felt very insecured there, I don't recommend anyone to visit this property

- booking上写8点入住,我们五点到联系老板,老板不回复,并质问我为什么不打给他。他的工作就是和客户沟通,他不但不觉得抱歉还倒反天罡,怨我们不联系他。并且还和旁边的白人蛐蛐我们,充我们大吼真是丢亚洲人的脸。他的笑容很虚伪,看的人很不适。

- Noise from the night club next door. One room smelled very bad and had a bathroom with an open window to the hallway. Poor sound proofing. Not a place you'd want to spend any time in.

- First of all, I booked this hotel almost 3 months ahead of my journey and I even contacted with the hotel day before my staying (5th November) to inform them about my expected time of arrival. However, when I reached there after 8 long hours of travelling from Pokhara to Kathmandu, the man at the reception told us that their room is not vacant so they have arranged substitute place for us to stay and informed us that our breakfast will be at another hotel ( Al Madina). After saying this he told a boy to carry our luggage to another hotel. After reaching the second hotel I was blank. This hotel name is Thamel Homes and it is locaed right in front of the road that used to enter My second home. There were 2 beds, furnitures were broken, there was no toiletries or towel in the washroom. Very old room, poor maintenance. I couldn’t make myself like it. I couldn’t find the hotel in booking.com. Seeing me so uncomfortable, my husband told me to cancel booking with My Second Home and so we cancelled the booking and shifted to M Hotel Thamel. I am very disappointed with their behavior even the lady in the reception of Thamel Homes misbehaved with us. She tried to intimidate us although we didn’t go to that hotel but My Second Home shifted us there. I read so many good reviews about My Second Home at booking.com that I thought it will be a very good deal. I knew that with this much rent it won't offer me the facilities that I received at Hotel Himalaya villa Nagarkot but I never expected of being cheated. I will say that this hotel broke my trust. After a day long journey while my body and mind needed some relaxation, due to there betrayal and misbehave, I had to look for another stay. This is not easy for a foreigner.

+ Niemand ist je zu Wohlstand gekommen, in dem er andere über den Tisch zieht. Das nur so am Rande. Ich werde selbstredend diese Dynamik und Energie im Land nicht ändern - allerdings werde ich auch nicht akzeptieren, dass ich als bezahlender Gast in einem guesthouse abgewertet werde. Und das ist mein Hauptpunkt! Ich habe die Unaufrichtigkeit des Chefs von Anbeginn an gespürt, weshalb ich mich auch distanziert habe - was er auch gemerkt hat und was ihn verunsichert hat. In diesem guesthouse hatte ich das Gefühl, dass der Gast KEINE Wertschätzung hat! Und lasst uns hier mal Wahrheit sprechen, liebe traveleres - denn ich bin nicht die einzige, der das aufgefallen ist! Es ist ein klares Gelangweiltsein spürbar - von allen - und eine utopische Annahme, dass der "Rubel" hier sowieso automatisch fließt. Überschätzt euch mal nicht! Zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt habt ihr noch den Vorteil der guten Bewertung auf booking.com - aber das kann sich sehr schnell ändern, denn ich komme mit Sicherheit NICHT mehr. Und ich habe auch von anderen gehört, dass sie sehr enttäuscht, ja sogar geschockt waren mit der gemachten Erfahrung an diesem Ort. Und ich hoffe aufrichtig, dass sie ihre Erfahrungen hier teilen! Denn die sind wichtig! Der Chef ist sehr unauthentisch. Er redet sehr übertrieben, auffallend laut und scheinbar lustig. Alles inszeniert. Alles fake. Denn darunter spürt man eben dieses Gelangweiltsein und vor allem die fehlende Wertschätzung den Gästen gegenüber - weshalb man sich auch nicht wirklich wohlfühlt. Zumindest ich nicht, denn ich kann Energien nicht leugnen! Ich werde hier nicht auf die einzelnen Geschichten/Erfahrungen mit ihm eingehen, die ich beobachtet habe, bzw. mir andere Gäste erzählt haben - die wirklich "krass" sind. Aber mich erstaunt diese hohe Bewertung auf booking.

- Встретили около 5 бравых ребят во главе с одним. Сразу начались «улучшения» комнаты. Я забронировала бюджетную. Меня стали пушить какая она неудобная и какая хорошая другая за 2 долл/ночь сверху. Сначала отказалась, мне ок - у них разница одна на 1 эт, другая на 2м. И вроде мне дали выбор, типа ты ж сама выбрала- но они давят, мне еще нужно было, чтобы они забронировали билет на автобус - ладно , сверх 4 долл (2 ночи) вроде и не много, и уже вечер, спорить не хочется. Дальше у меня встреча, возвращаюсь, мечтая о душе. А горячей воды нет. Ну вернее, она не ледяная, но и теплой не назвать. Иду к ним. Главный с шуточками и типа русскими словечками, рассказывает как все хорошо работает и надо подождать пару минут. Чувак, мне не надо русских слов, дай горячую воду! Они куда-то сходили, мы вместе подождали, они ушли - сказали через пару минут все будет. Через 40 минут хождения туда-сюда, ацких литров зря пролитой воды, я плюнула, сполоснулась чем было. Кровать удобная, но белье несвежее, пятна грязи я увидела уже днем. Комната маленькая — чемодан открыть полностью можно только на кровати. Пыльно ( но это во всем Катманду проблема). Утром спускаюсь на завтрак и за гор.водой. Опять шуточки-прибауточки ,что все хорошо. По моему лицу видимо он понял, что не все, опять куда-то ходил, пока завтрак и о чудо! Горячая вода! Ребята очень назойливые (не надо путать дружелюбие с прессингом). Small talk превращается в допрос и продажу ps предложили вернуть деньги, если удалю отзыв - ну теперь понятно
- Poor service. Poor maintenance. Broken toilet seat. Racist staff. Treats Asians poorly, especially indians. Staff Misbehaves with female guests. Even saw BEDBUGS at the corner of bedsheets. Misleading information uploaded on Booking.com about the property. I had booked AC room but upon checkin I was given a top most room on the 3rd floor with roof made of tin sheet with inoperational AC. There was not even a Fan Available in the rooms. I was traveling with my family and kids. This property does not have elevator as well. Elderly people have to walk all the way up to the 3rd floor. When asked about the AC, owner informed that none of his rooms have AC and it's the mistake of Booking.com. When I tried to cancel my booking due to Poor quality of the rooms, I was asked to pay cancellation charges else I will not be allowed to leave the property. Finally I had to pay cancellation charges, even though it was due to the hotels misinformation displayed in Booking.com and poor maintenance. Cancellation of booking in Booking.com is not customer friendly. While canceling the booking, customer cannot input the reason for cancellation and will be at the mercy of Hotel to avoid cancellation fees.

- The rooms were very small. Top of one bathroom door is open. Other bathroom door can't be shut from the room. There was a large open window in one bathroom which can not be shut from inside. There was neither a mirror nor a cupboard nor TV in the room . Even one cannot drink tea inside the room. There was no service at all. You have to go downstairs for everything literally. No lunch or dinner available here. There was no AC or sofa in our rooms as was shown in the booking.com website.

Very clean and quiet with accommodating and kind staff. Very competitive nightly pricing. Convenient location within walking distance of everything fun to do in Thamel. I have stayed here twice already and will be sure to stay here every time I return to Kathmandu for work.

+ J'avais réservé 2 chambres à 1 grand lit. En arrivant on nous propose 1 chambre à 2 lits - pour une nuit pour changer le lendemain ! Nous n'étions pas du tout d'accord. Nous avions réservé assez longtemps en avance pour ne pas être surpris par ce genre de choses. Finalement on a eu 2 chambres à 2 petits lits avec des draps tachés et troués. L'ensemble était propre. Mon amie n'a pas eu d'eau chaude le lendemain matin. Nous ne sommes pas restés dans cette guesthouse ! L'accueil était tonitruant, un peu trop.
- Le manque d'attention et le n'importe quoi pour se rattraper ! Le manque d'eau chaude dans une des chambres. Le petit déjeuner.
+ The location in the heart of Kathmandu's nightlife, close to many restaurants and bars. The hotel offers decent breakfasts and the staff were available to help with everything you could possibly need. Super comfy bed.
- The budget room was very "budget". It was located on the ground floor directly next to the reception and common areas so can be noisy. The shower needs to be fixed as was leaking water in all directions. Although the hotel facilities includes airport pick up, the host responded on WhatsApp to just get a taxi.
+ Es ist sehr zentral und gut gelegen, man kann alle Besorgungen von hier aus erledigen. Trotzdem ist es extrem ruhig. Der Eigentümer ist sehr hilfreich bei der Organisation von Jeeps, Trekking und co. Außerdem kann man hier noch Geld wechseln. Das Frühstück ist ganz ausgezeichnet. Die Zimmer haben alles, was man braucht.
