It’s located in the most dangerous area in town. I met people who had been robbed at knifepoint on the streets outside, others who had been threatened. There’s a sewage treatment plant at the bottom that you can constantly smell from the pool. They messed up my booking - saying it’s Hostelworld’s fault - despite customer service saying it’s their fault. I wasn’t offered any alternative to stay either and the woman at reception was rude and unhelpful. Do not stay here.
There's nothing special about this hostel for the price of it. Nowhere comfy to sit by the pool. Short walk across the river to the main town but cannot get back this way at night, they offer shuttles but times are unreliable.
Les dortoirs sont très petits il n’y a pas de place pour circuler ni pour ranger nos sacs, on se marche clairement dessus. Il n’y a pas de prise pour tous les lits et et la plupart des prises dans les pièces communes sont prises au vu du manque général. L’auberge manque clairement d’équipement et est bien trop chère au vu de la qualité proposée qui est médiocre. Heureusement le personnel est très gentil est aidant et la navette gratuite pour se rendre en ville est très pratiqu...
The dormitories are very small there is no room to move or to store our bags, we walk on them clearly. There is no socket for all the beds and most sockets in the common rooms are taken in view of the general shortage. The hostel clearly lacks equipment and is far too expensive in view of the quality offered which is mediocre. Fortunately the staff is very kind and helpful and the free shuttle to the city is very convenient
Sweet hostel if you’re looking to party.
No idea why so highly rated. No kitchen, bad showers, uncomfortable bed, need a shuttle/taxi back at night or you’ll get robbed on the walk home. Much better options in town
I think this hostel is pretty overpriced for the location of the hostel / what you get but the vibes here are good! All the volunteers are so kind & super helpful. The family dinners hosted, movie nights and of course Sunday Funday activities are particularly great ! Aircon at night is a major bonus :)
Also…das Personal war sehr sehr nett. Es gibt jeden Tag Angebote, wie einen Shuttle zum Strand, quesadilla Nacht etc. Allerdings war es nicht besonders sauber, in unserem Dorm waren sehr viele Ameisen, die Bettlaken waren fleckig und generell war die Ausstattung sehr Basic, nichts zum Sachen abstellen etc. Die AC hat nachts so sehr geballert dass es echt kalt war. Der Pool ist ganz cool, aber keine Möglichkeit, sich dort aufzuhalten. Lage ok, nah am Strand aber etwas sketchy.
Also...the staff was very very nice. there are daily offers, like a shuttle to the beach, quesadilla Nacht etc. However it was not particularly clean, in our dorm there were very many ants, the bed sheets were fleckish and in general the equipment was very basic, nothing to put things away etc. The AC hat at night is so very geallert dass es echt kalt war. the pool is quite cool, but no possibility to stay there. location ok, nah am Strand but somewhat sketchy
Nice hostel but nothing special. Everything seemed a bit run down and the facilites could be a lot better. Staff not the most helpful and location is a bit far out. No plug sockets by the beds is annoying.
Für die Zimmerausstattung finde ich den Preis zu hoch. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
I think the price is too high for the room furnishings, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Would not recommend a stay here - location is super inconvenient and the place was not clean.

Me experience here was second to none. From the amazing people, vibes of the city, close by beaches and restaurants it’s really all you need. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly while the events planned were entertains and created a lot of bonding experience between everyone there during my stay. I’ll definitely be back. Security were kind of d**** when I asked about a beer though lol hence the 9.7 not 10
Fantastic atmosphere, surf trips were great, you’re signing up for the convenience and the social side of surfing I think. However, there were only like 4 decent boards, the rest were falling apart. Also you only go to 2 different beaches. Still recommend staying though, met a lot of people, had a fun week.

Très chouette auberge avec piscine. L’emplacement n’est pas des plus central mais en 10 min de marche vous êtes dans le centre. Le restaurant de l’auberge est bon. L’ambiance est bonne grâce aux activités organisées quotidiennement. Le dortoir de 4 est vraiment niquel, la salle de bain aussi. Il n’y a pas de rideaux aux lits c’est dommage mais sinon c’était vraiment top!
Nice hostel with swimming pool. The location is not the most central but in 10 minutes walk you are in the center. The hostel restaurant is good. The atmosphere is good thanks to the activities organized daily. The dormitory of 4 is really niquel, the bathroom too. There are no curtains to the beds it's a shame but otherwise it was really top!
Great hostel! I had an amazing time. The activities were so nicely planned out. The vibes and people were great. Highly recommend. Special shout out to Laure and Silver for showing us a great time. 💕💕
Die Räume sind sehr klein und die Betten rostig und alt, teilweise mit scharfen Kanten. Zudem wurden bei Check-out 10 USD mehr verlangt, als es sein sollte, was ich raus gefunden habe, indem ich mir die Rechnung nochmal angucken wollte. Ich halte es für unwahrscheinlich, dass es sich um ein Versehen gehandelt hat.
The rooms are very small and the beds are rusty and alt, partly with sharp edges. also at check-out they were charged 10 USD more than it should be, which I found out when I wanted to look at the bill again. i think it is unlikely that it was a versehen.
It’s really nice place to stay, really nice people. I met some lovely people. The vibe is really nice. The food is incredible and there is always something new everyday. There is a variety of things on the menu. They offer the shuttle service around town multiple times a day. They offer surf days to different beach. I loved my time here and would come back here 100%.
Overall a really nice hostel. What bothered me a little bit was that there was no kitchen that you can use (but is was written in the description of the hostel so it wasn't a surprise). After two days we met some nice people even though I had the feeling that it took longer than in some other hostels (maybe depends on when you are staying there). They had shuttles for 5$ to a different beach every day which was really nice. A surflesson was also not that expensive, nice pool
Overall pretty clean but soooo many ants in my room. I’d easily say there were a couple hundred. Pool was nice. Ended up forgetting something at the hostel and found that staff were really hard to get in contact with and not very helpful. Location is further out but it’s a short walk to town and they offer free shuttles in the evenings.
The staff and atmosphere were amazing! Made lots of friends and had so much fun both at the hostel and at the events they planned.
Great hostel! Nice facilities including the pool table and pool. The shuttle to and from the surf beaches is great and it makes it ao convenient to come here to surf. The hostel is quite social, but not too much which was nice. The location is a little bit out of town (10 minutes walking) and they provide shuttles to and from town every hour in the evenings.

Seemed quiet at first but that’s because the hostel organises beach trips every day for everyone. Atmosphere was really good in the afternoons and evenings. slightly out of town but free shuttle was great for getting around and you’re in a good spot to do the Jesus statue hike. No kitchen but affordable nice food, and free coffee in the mornings. Rooms were pretty average but AC + fans were great :)
I loved hola ola! It was such a fantastic hostel to meet other solo travellers, everyday they offer shuttles to different beaches to surf, they have events almost every night and the staff is soooo lovely. I highly recommend for other solo travellers but ps it’s a little bit of a walk to get into the city centre but it’s only like 10 mins
Spent a week here and I never wanted to leave in the end. Was welcomed immediately and felt absolutely at home here. All of the volunteers were incredible and made every new guest feel so comfortable. I highly recommend staying here!!!

The facilities here are a bit basic, and I do wish there were lounge chairs or someplace to lay down, but overall a good stay. It was a bit quiet and empty when I was here, but I managed to make friends, and the volunteers are all good fun as well. The AC at night is nice and cold, and the walk into town isn’t too bad.
A really nice stay - wasn’t sure when I booked as there’s no photos of the rooms. But the 4 bed rooms were spacious and with an en-suite that was clean. Air con at night is much appreciated. Lots of space to chill by the pool or under shade upstairs and the food was great.
