Society House Luxury Hostel Pai

Showed up for an all women dorm reservation made weeks in advance, was told upon arrival they were full and had moved me to the mixed dorm. Wasn’t ideal and something to note for women for future. The walls are quite thin so I could also hear all the lovely noises of the bathroom, quite graphic really. Bathrooms a bit of a mess. Security is not existent no keys no cards to get in anywhere. Good location: A short walk from the city, almost got attacked by dogs one night walking back though.

I stayed 2 nights, not coming back. They do not clean often enough, no toilet paper one morning. The doorm had two fans that made a lot of noise during the night, making it hard to sleep. No good social atenas, without disturbing someone that want's to rest/sleep. Staff was neutral. Hostel felt isolated, and walking in the dark was really uncomfortable, even though it's a 7 min walk.

There are no 4-bed room female dorms at this hostel although you can seemingly book them on the website. Instead I was offered a double bed in 16 (!!!) bed dorm. The price is way too expensive for a 16 bed dorm. You can get a private room for that money. Because I was upset I was offered a private room which was very nice of the staff. Staff said they had tried to contact the website to tell them that they have no 4 bed room dorms.

I loved the location, being a bit of the way out of town, up the hill but still definitely walking distance. the set up of the hostel is not for meeting fellow travellers and everyone keeps to themselves but the whole place is so serene, it really does feel like a mix of on the one hand you're staying in a luxury retreat and on the other in a barn next to a farm that does not smell. not ideal to be given thin blankets rather than a proper duvet but don't worry, air con isn't needed at all

Overall it was great, just not that social. But if you are not travelling alone it is a beautiful place to stay!

Well, as the name suggests, it is a luxury hostel, no doubt about that. Very nice atmosphere, almost five star facilities. Only two things are a bit of irritants. First is that there is no air conditioners in the dorms which you would expect for this price. Second is that it is approximately 1.5 KM away from Pai city which is quite a bit of a walk though the hostel offers a free shuttle service (two way) every couple of hours, but still you have to manage your schedule around the shuttle timings

Loved our stay here, staff is friendly and there to help. The beds are comfy and it’s a very nice property. We loved it there! Only the location is a bit far and the road there is quite dark at night.

This is a great place to stay in Pai : cute gardens, lovely living areas, clean and quiet. It isn’t a social hostel but if you are lucky with the batch of backpackers in your room you can create nice connections! I did 🫶🏻 Only bummer is the staff : not helpfull, not nice, and not able to speak english at all. I’m sad to review Society hostel this way because everything else is top notch !

The receptionists were super lovely and people staying there were respectful of one another. The bedding, showers and toilets were not super clean but the environment of the farm was really nice. It’s not the most idilic hostel for socialising as there was not really a social area. This needs improving.

Literally such a perfect spot. 15 min walk outside of downtown pai but you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere once you’re on the property. Stunning views, great walks around. And amazing cows grazing. Make sure to check out Thai Zen, an amazing vegan cafe 5 mins behind the property!

Most peaceful place, beautiful place, kind staff, I will come back to this beautiful hostel one day, I felt like home.

Très bon hostel, j’ai vraiment aimé le cadre dans la nature et comment sont fait les chambres et parties communes. Très bonne ambiance aussi, mais cela doit dépendre des backpackers.

A really nice hostel/holiday complex, not very social, but good outdoor seating options. About a 10-minute walk to the town center.

Ich habe es geliebt. Etwas außerhalb aber genau das Richtige, wenn man Ruhe und Entspannung sucht. Die Mitarbeitenden sind alle super freundlich und es herrscht eine familiäre Atmosphäre :)

Mir hat es sehr gut gefallen. Das Personal war unglaublich nett und zuvorkommend. Bei meiner Ankunft bekam ich einen Fruchtdrink und ein kühles Tuch. Die sanitären Anlagen waren sehr sauber, es war jedoch ein offener Raum und hatte viele Insekten, aber das fand ich nicht weiter schlimm. Im Zimmer gibt es keinen AC, aber das steht auch in der Beschreibung der Unterkunft.

It’s a beautiful place, and so cheap compared to what you get. The beds are so comfy and they have a kitchen for you to cook and store your food. The bathrooms are great with both hot and cold water, they even provide you a towel. The only downside it’s the a/c, there is a/c but it’s not that great I was a bit to hot in the night.

This hostel was the best! It was a 10 minute walk from the city, which made it very calm. The hostel was very spacious and clean with comfy and private beds. The bathroom had separate toilets and showers with plenty of space.

Super chill hostel in een prachtige omgeving. Wel iets verder van het centrum af, maar dat is prima te belopen. Het is niet supersociaal.

Das Hostel ist einfach unbeschreiblich gut, sauber und fantastisch gelegen. Die Mitarbeiter sind toll. Ich hatte ein Rollerproblem und man hat meinen Roller umgehend reparieren lassen, das nenne ich Service. Außerdem sind die Badezimmer sehr sauber und die Bewohner halten sich an die Bettruhe. So gut wie dort, habe ich lange nicht geschlafen. Ich kann das Hostel uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

This was a good place to stay in for one night. I booked it last minute and enjoyed my stay very much. It isn’t social but that was perfect in my situation since I just needed a place to crash. It really didn’t feel like you were sharing the room with 19 other people. However, the walls are thin and there is a gap so if someone is out smoking, the smell gets into the room. Beautiful surroundings and nice to have a walk around the lake! I would recommend this place :)

Wirklich gutes und sauberes Hostel. Liegt etwas abseits der Stadt, aber man erreicht die Stadt in wenigen Minuten. Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Personnel adorable, lieu très beau et paisible. Tout ce qu’on attend d’un hôtel alors pour un hostel on adore !

The place is amazing in every way except that it's not social at all. Toilets are spotless, the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Showers always had hot water. Large beds. It gets cold at night but they provide extra blankets. My only complaint is that there is incense being burned during the day, right next to the wooden house to keep mosquitoes away but it fills the house with that smokey smell and it felt like getting smoked out at time. Sadly no vibe, felt more like staying at a hotel
