Flinders St. Hostel - International Female Only

Die Küche und das Badezimmer waren okay, aber die zimmer waren super unordentlich und alle Bewohner waren unfreundlich und haben nicht wirklich mit einem gesprochen. Es gab wenig reisende in dem Hostel sondern mehr Leute die auf lange Zeit dort bleiben und man hat sich die ganze zeit sehr einsam gefühlt. Würde ich niemanden empfehlen

Überall ist es dreckig, das Bad, die Dusche, die Küche. Alle lassen im Bad die Sachen stehen und es ist sehr unordentlich. Die Betten waren ok.

This hotel has no on-site staff, so if you forget your phone or password, there’s no immediate help. Only two bathrooms—so expect to wait for showers or the toilet. You also can’t choose your bunk , even if other beds are open. The hotel is located on the third floor, accessible by a steep staircase. The luggage lockers are too small for a laptop. All doors use keypad locks, sometimes take a few tries to unlock. Very clean, but soundproofing could be better.

For the people that has a lot of luggage there is a lot of very steep and narrow stairs up to the dorms. My room door didn’t work so we had to sleep with the door open all night wich made more sounds. There is only 2 showers and 2 toilets for all the guests so I had to wait 40 min for the shower. Otherwise the kitchen is clean and bed and balcony is nice. Although so expensive for being a hostel without staff and for that experience.

Beds were super nice and big, kitchen too. However there is only full time people staying here and everyone has their stuff everywhere because they essentially live there. Not very comfortable for short term stays therefore. Was fine for the night good location

The hostel is really clean and close to the harbour but the vibe was really off. No staff there and all the common rooms under cctv and really not a chill vibe at all.

A hostel where everything is managed remotely. Not too bad, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. Fine if you're just passing through.

This hostel was nice but very quiet. There is no reception or lift and the hostel is on the top floor so be prepared to haul your massive backpack or suitcase up 3 flights of stairs. The hostel was clean, the rooms were very nice and the beds were bigger than a normal single bed which was lovely. Not the most social hostel in the world but everyone i met while i was there was lovely. It’s about a 10-15 min walk to the ferry terminal/ greyhound bus stop.

I never saw the staff. It is a self check in which worked without any issues. The area is quite sketchy. The house is old and you have to get up a lot of stairs to get to your room.

No atmosphere for solo travellers, basically full of long term people working in Townsville. No staff for check in, had to call as they’d made an error with my bed number. Slightly inconvenient and awkward but was sorted quickly. Very small, only 3 rooms. Beautiful view of marina and perfect location. Didn’t stay long enough to get to know other people here so that impacts my rating for its atmosphere.

It was really nice being in a hostel with just women, but I never once saw a person that was working there. But all in all amazing hostel would definitely come back.

The hostel was really secure and safe, there’s not heaps to do in Townsville (i visited to see Magnetic island) but it’s 10 min walk to the greyhound stop/ferry terminal. Room was comfortable and met some lovely girls but I was the only one not staying long term for work - so there was stuff literally everywhere in the dorm with not a lot of space for my bag. There is lockers for a smaller bag though

Overall, great hostel and location. Everyone was friendly but staff didnt interact and i didnt meet any staff - luckily i didnt need them for anything. It was tidy and clean other than the floors which were dirty and hairs everywhere. I walked on the floor and feet were dirty from it straight away so always wore shoes.

Hostel location, set up and cleanliness was all fine. The self check in process could have been a little clearer and was not clearly outlined in the booking, however staff replied quickly to the email to solve this. The major downside to the hostel is the long term residence who seem to treat it as more of a house than a hostel with stuff everywhere and rude comments about making any noise at reasonable times before quiet hours. Would recommended for a quiet few days as the balcony was lovely.

Good hostel to stay in for a stopover. Not super social but wasn't needed. No staff work here, you have to remember a door code that locks everyone out for 15 minutes if you get it wrong 5 times so can be annoying but generally very nice, clean hostel and lovely balcony. Great kitchen facilities and good bathrooms too.

Comfy bed, good security, nice shower cubicles and bathroom/washing facilities. Although washer is very expensive! The other guests weren’t very quiet at night, but other than that it was ok. Nice balcony area, big kitchen, nice that it’s women only. No reception, only saw one guy who worked there and seemed to pop in every now and then. Lots of stairs to climb to the hostel, and can’t check in before 2pm.

Das Hostel ist Zentral gelegen und die Fähren gut erreichbar. Küche, Badezimmer und die anderen Räume waren meistens sauber. Es kommt halt auf die Bewohner an. Ob sie nachdem Kochen sauber machen Kritikpunkt: Zimmer sehr klein. Es gibt kaum die Möglichkeit richtig an das Gepäck zu kommen. Die Betten sind wackelig, es gibt keine Vorhänge. Sobald man oben schläft wird man direkt von der Klimaanlage und vom Deckenventilator angepustet. Ich würde hier nicht nochmal übernachten.

Lovely location, very clean, comfortable bed, nice atmosphere. Would recommend for solo female traveller.

Great facilities, convenient and perfect location for greyhound bus and ferry. Met some lovely girls on my short visit. Staff were also very helpful and lovely. Very clean!

nice quiet and very small hostel, the beds were really comfy and a nice balcony to go sit out on, good for a chilled out couple of nights and very secure. Only 2 things to be aware of, 1 which cant be helped and the hostel does let you know is that the hostel itself is up '2' floors which is 4 flights of stairs, getting luggage up takes some heft, 2. atleast when i stayed there was no staff aroundfor urgent questions, if you email there is a decent reply time but i would have liked a person :)

Hostel was clean and there was everything I needed. The location itself wasn't ne nicest but it was really easy to move around from there. It's good if you're looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay but the atmosphere was no social at all.
