Hostal Juárez Puerto Escondido

I booked the private room (which was an equipped van) and I had a terrible time. It had a strange smell, and every night, huge cockroaches would get in from everywhere. The location is good and the staff are very friendly, but the cleanliness of the van and the infestation in the room made it impossible to get any rest.

My stay at this hostel was very disappointing. The toilet often didn’t work, so guests had to use a nearby café. Water pressure in the shower and sinks was very low, and soap and drinking water were not always available. There were many mosquitoes, especially around the kitchen, with no mosquito control. As a result, I contracted dengue fever, as did my roommate. The conditions felt unsafe and unsanitary. I would not recommend this place.

This hostel has bed bugs and we left after one night. They did not offer any support or a refund. They offered to do our laundry for free, but ended up charging us anyways. The floor boards in the dorm room had still water underneath that we could smell and was definitely the breeding ground for the millions of mosquitos swarming this place. Also half of us got sick because we think they were filling the water jugs with sink water.

ABER: der Host war tagelang nicht anwesend, auch die Putzfrau kam unregelmäßig , wir mussten um den Wasser gefill bitten, auch als Stromausfall war, wurde nicht mal nachgefragt, ob wir etwas brauchen. Zum Glück mussten wir diese Nacht nicht bezahlen. Aktivitäten waren am Board, aber es war ja niemand dort. 😂 Ich finde, man könnte viel mehr aus diesem Hostel...

logement insalubre, nous avons remarqué de nombreux manquements aux règles sanitaires élémentaires :Nourriture pour animaux et animaux sur la table à manger, présence de vêtements sales et de nombreuses mouches aux alentours dans les douches communes, saleté des sanitaires communs, détritus au sol, évier des sanitaires présentant des traces de moisissures et de saleté, environnement infesté de moustiques et présence de nuées de mouches dans l'entrepôt du linge.

J’avais réservé pour 3 nuits et je suis restée seulement 1… quand je suis arrivée, personne n’était à la réception, il n’y avait aucun voyageur non plus. J’ai eu l’impression que l’endroit était abandonné. Grosse humidité dans ma chambre car mauvaise aération … Le matelas était creusé au milieu car sans doute trop usé …

As a woman solo traveller I would not recommand to rent the room in the van. I couldn’t close the window and was scared for my security, the room wasn’t nice : a lot of dead mosquitoes everywhere, and the cleaning could be better. The staff is really nice though, position is really good near punta.

Cheaper than other hostels around, but it’s marginal. That, and the kind staff, are the only things it has got going for it. Showers were pretty dirty - I noticed a few bits of tissue paper on the floor in them that weren’t removed for the duration of my stay. I was bitten so much by mosquitos so closed the shutter curtain to my bed, that meant that the (weak) air con couldn’t get in so it became a sauna. I ended up moving hostels and had a far better time.

shower in female only dorm was a trickle and didn’t drain at all - everything could have done with a clean and a proper sheet would have been amazing ! the guys who ran it were lovely though ❣️

it is a very good place to stay but we got scabies while being in PXM, stay safe

Este hostal es, sin duda, una joya junto al mar. Desde el momento en que llegas, te envuelve un ambiente relajado y amigable que hace que te sientas como en casa. I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel in Puerto Escondido. The place has a great vibe and feels relaxed and social at the same time. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always available if you need recommendations for beaches, food, or activities around town. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the common areas made it easy to meet other travelers. Es genial la atencion de los encargados, ademas tiene una excelente ubicacion al estar a 2 cuadras de la playa, claro que volveria a quedarme. Todo es super aambiente. Gracias🫶🏻

Tuve una estadía muy buena en Hostal Juárez. El personal es súper amable y siempre están pendientes de ayudarte con lo que necesites. Las áreas comunes son al aire libre y tiene un ambiente relajado para descansar o trabajar. Me gustó mucho la ubicación porque puedes llegar caminando a la playa, a cafés y a tiendas. Volvería sin problema! 💙

Espectacular estancia en Hostal Juarez. Ubicación perfecta muy cerca de la playa donde van todos los surfistas. Personal de 10! muy amables, atentos y amigables que te ayudan con lo que necesites. Leí algunos comentarios sobre los mosquitos pero la verdad que yo no tube ningún problema con eso. El lugar es muy tranquilo y todo esta muy limpio y ordenado. RECOMENDADO 100% para aquellos que vengan a puerto y no quieran el tipico hostel gigante con demasiada fiesta y ruido.

Excelente ubicación, muy hogareño y el personal súper amable. Las camas muy cómodas y el A/C estaba prendido todas las noches para poder dormir bien. Regresaré pronto gracias a todos

Hostal Juárez PXM es un gran lugar para quedarse, cerca de la playa y con un gran ambiente si viajas solo. El personal es muy amable y está para apoyarte en cualquier situación. Recomiendo mucho este lugar y sin duda me volvería a quedar.

As a result, I contracted dengue fever, as did my roommate. The conditions felt unsafe and unsanitary. I would not recommend this place.

Sehr netter Mitarbeiter. Recht viele Moskitos aber da kann natürlich das Hostel nichts für :D

This place is always filled with wonderful people and comfy beds. Its rainy season so bring spray.

This place is cool. Great place to drink and make friends before going out.

I had the best stay at the hostel! I booked a bed in the girls dorm and I was alone there, the room and the bathroom were super clean, the staff and the volunteers are so cute and friendly. The best is the ubication. Thank you for everything :-)

Super buen hostal con gente muy amable y buen ambiente. La ubicación está perfecta en la Punta muy cerca de la calle principal y la playa. Maya nos recibió en el hostal y nos ayudó a agendar varios viajes, pedir transporte y darnos recomendaciones en Puerto Escondido! Nos quedamos en el cuarto de mujeres y está super limpio y muy cómodo
