The Coffee Garden Hostel

The staff was really unfriendly. I arrived and nobody was at the reception so I asked around and I found a girl. She said she is working there but not at this moment but except for her nobody else was there. So she was angry about her coworker, annoyed that I wanted to check in and I received all that like it was is my fault.

Run down.

Didn’t get sheets or towels (went to look for the laundry room ourselves cause there was no staff after 8. They also put us in a 8 dorm instead of 6 dorm that we booked. No staff there to talk to about this, also not the next morning (left at noon) and it’s not like the pictures. Breakfast was good but coffee machine didn’t work only espresso. The breakfast area looked cute but they need to improve a lot.

Overall pretty nice hostel but probably got bedbugs here….

You get what you pay for. We were in a 6 person room and only had 4 small lockers for personal items, plus we had no key to lock the door into the room only the main front door of the property. Man at reception was lovely and very helpful with things to do/ questions. Kitchen and common areas very clean as well as the beds but toilets not the cleanest. Beds were really comfortable and air-con was pretty good

I would stay here again. The mosquitoes were crazy but not their fault. I loved the feel of this place and it’s in a great walkable location

I liked the place. It's super chill, the beds are comfortable (with curtains), serves great breakast (included) and probably the best coffee I've had on this trip (unfortunately, not included. However, there were some problems with both bathrooms. In both, the showers didn't drain, resulting in an unhygienic situation and flooded rooms. Also, the fans (which you need to sleep) were extremely dusty. The hostel deserves a 9/10 easily if thesanitary facilities were to be thoroughly updated.

It’s a decent hostel but some minor additions and it could be fantastic - a few more pots and saucepans in the kitchen would be nice, and some extra seating in the courtyard. Wifi is really strong, the showers are cold but not freezing, so tolerable. Close to a supermarket and an ATM which doesn’t charge fees. A pair of digital nomads walked around the hostel like they owned the place and kept using our ensuite rather than their own, quite pathetic really. It’s new and constantly improving...

Pretty hostel, but seemed to not be the same as advertised. The owner was lovely but still figuring out how to run the hostel. Very friendly nontheless and the place has a lot of potential!

This hostel has only recently reopened, so there are still some small construction works going on. The café is not open at the moment. the owner truly does everything possible to make your stay as comfortable as it can be. He is very helpful and gives great tips on where to go, how to get there, and when the buses are running. You really feel welcomed and taken care of despite the ongoing work. As a nice bonus, the shower even has warm water! Overall, a good stay with a lot of potential!

This was a wonderful place to stay in Santa Ana! I was here during low season so was just one of a few staying here, but it was a great spot for a week to explore Santa Ana and the surrounding areas. Harold was also extremely helpful with everything related to my stay! I would highly recommend this spot in Santa Ana

Our stay put us here in the off-season, so it was just us and maybe one or two other people. However our stay was fantastic, the owner is so lovely and there is a great kitchen with a market and supermarket just down the street. Santa Ana doesnt have much to do but it is easy to do walking tours and the volcano hike from this hostel. I highly recommend!

The Coffee Garden Hostel is a lovely place in Santa Ana, I would recommend booking elsewhere if you want that soical feel during low season, but high season is mean to be very social and popular. The owner is lovely and he even drove us to El Tunco, so he really took care of us during our stay.

This honestly looks nothing like the pictures, it’s far more run down in person! The bathroom was disgusting, grime everywhere and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in forever. Very few places to chill. Not enough lockers in the room for the number of beds. No key to the room, only the front door. A bit of a walk to the square but not a terrible location. Man at reception was friendly and gave me a free coffee one morning. Not the worst but there has to be better hostels in Santa Ana.

Great atmosphere, super friendly host, and the food and coffee were incredible. Everything felt really welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

super cute hostel, very clean and really nice staff. The kitchen is one of the cleanest I‘ve seen in hostels so far and they even have a ninja air fryer. All the dorms have AC which is great. The breakfast is so good as well, all in all loved it here!

Harold y Clari fueron muy atentos, nos ayudaron con información muy útil para trasladarnos y conocer los alrederores. El desayuno es riquísimo y el dormi compartido en el que nos quedamos contaba con aire acondicionado, ideal para las noches de calor de Santa Ana :) Gracias por todo!

A nice hostel, it was clean, had good beds and the staff was nice and helpful. The breakfast was very nice. We had to go up early during our stay and therefore we missed the ordinary breakfast time, but the staff were very helpful and helped us get our breakfast before leaving despite this. Since there weren’t any taxis available when we had to leave for our next destination the owner helped us out and drove us to El tunco which we really appreciated. We really enjoyed our stay here✨

We absolutely loved our stay, the staff were lovely and the breakfast included was great. The hostel has a lovely feel to it and is only a short 3 or 4 minute walk from the main square.
