Shkodra Hostel & Day Tours

Would not come back! -Charges 1 euro extra for card transactions even when paying for your bed, scammy! -charges 2 euro a night for luggage storage even when you buy tours from them. -Staff got mad and told a guy he was stealing their business when he offered a free ride to 2 guests in his rental car since they didn’t bought bus tickets from the hostel. -The Vibe from the staff is that they try to make money out of everything. Good beds, social area and other guests were nice, good AC

They have no lockers, and the stairs are dangerously slippery. The floor offers very little grip and poses a serious safety risk. This should be addressed immediately. The staff was polite at first, but I was charged 10% more than the correct amount. When I noticed and raised the issue the next morning, the employee told me she should not b working at that time,which I found quite rude. Several excuses were given to deny the mistake. In the end, I was proven right and the extra charge refunded

ended up leaving early due to dirty bathrooms, odd smells in the room and overall felt like a hindrance by the person who checked me in. would be fine for 1 night but not anymore

Unfortunately Steff we’re very rude and unaccommadating to simple requests - this was very jarring and not something I have previously experienced

Upon arrival staff were lovely and welcoming. Beds were comfy and had privacy curtains, common area nice. However, they forgot to give us the door codes and did not mention late checkout. We had checked out at 10 and were just hanging around the common area (many other hostels had let us do this) and the staff demanded we leave or pay, this was unexpected since we had not been told there was late checkout fees. Others travelling to tirana said the same thing happened to them

when I arrived it was raining and no one open the door, 10am at the end a random person sleeping there opened the door and when I talk with the people in the reception it was like they woke up 1min before or something weird, they weren't able to build one full sentence. the guy couldn't even charge me, I had to pay at the afternoon to someone else. they took me to the room and woke up everyone in there asking if they were leaving o no (before chekout). and at 11 they kicku out, with bad maners

Only stayed one night so I definitely didn’t get to experience everything it had to offer. The hot water wasn’t working while I was there and all of the toilet seats on my floor were broken. Breakfast was alright. Beds were nice.

A great hostel! The curtains were great and the lockers were big enough for all belongings. The communal area was nice and the breakfast was yum (3 euros per day). The staff were also so friendly and helpful. The only thing l disappointing thing was the price of the activities (65 euros for a day tour hike and 40 euros for a night time boat cruise with no alternate cheaper activity). The photos that people sent from them did look beautiful though and that may not be an issue for everyone!

I liked it but the hostel was definitely in a sketchier part of town. I think compared to booking tours through get your guide, I felt the hostel charged more for tours. But the advantage of going on tour with them is meeting people from the hostel. The showers never had hot water and no sink space to get ready in the morning or ever. If you want to sleep in, forget about it, either people are returning at 2 AM very loud of getting up for the tours at 6 AM and loud.

Can’t recommend this hostel enough! The staff, facilities and tours are next level. Armando is an absolute legend and went above and beyond with effort in regard to making us feel comfortable and showing us around. All in all such a great stay, and very much so a family vibe, will be coming for sure.

Loveliest staff! So friendly and welcoming. It feels like you’re part of a family when you stay here. Day trips cost from £50-£65 but were definitely worth it. Tour guides were amazing and atmosphere and vibes were immaculate! Loved staying here, definitely recommend!

This was by far the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The staff and the owners Erjon and Rob went above and beyond to make our hostel experience the best ever. Everyone is super friendly and they will do anything to make you feel welcomed. They even organize delicious “Family dinners” which are made by the staff and volunteer members allowing everyone to get together! The best part is that they organize so many group activities and daily tours which were amazing! I will definitely come back...

My friends and I had the best stay in shkodër and it is 100% because of our experience at this hostel. Every single volunteer and staff member was so kind, helpful, and friendly. The tours that they offer daily are extremely well organized and the guides are very knowledgeable on the trails. this is the friendliest hostel we’ve stayed in and 100% recommend it to all looking to make the most of their time in Albania enjoying the nature! 🙂

This is the best hostel I’ve ever been to. The staff is amazing. The bathrooms, showers and rooms are very clean. So many day trips you can go on and they are all worth your money. It is very social, I’ve never met this many people in one place. It’s like a family away from home. Everyone should book their stay here!!

I had the best stay, both Robert and Erjon were lovely and welcoming. The place was clean and comfortable, but the day trips were the highlight. Would definitely recommend for a wholesome stay!

The hostel was very good and the staff was great. We felt very safe in the hostel. We would have felt better in the city if we had a man traveling with us.

One of my most favourite hostels I’ve ever been to out of over 80+ over 6 different continents. The building is extremely clean at all times, very cool layout especially the outdoor patio area by the cafe / bar. The rooms are so nice, everything you could need and ask for plus more. Every single staff member from reception to housekeeping, is beyond accommodating, super friendly and makes the hostel just such a great atmosphere. I am looking so forward to coming back and joining the tours. 10/...

Some of the best staff I’ve ever encountered during my travels. Everyone was extremely nice and welcoming. The tours offered are amazing and the staff goes above and beyond in order to give their guests the best experience possible. I can’t recommend this hostel enough.

Super schönes und sauberes Hostel im Zentrum. Der Besitzer und die Volunteers sind super chillig und die Day Trips sind es sowas von wert. Es ist einfach, Leute kennenzulernen. Die Betten haben Vorhänge und es gibt ein Café in der Common Area draußen. Kann es nur empfehlen wenn ihr in Shkodra seid und Bock auf neue Menschen, Party und Natur habt :)

Really lovely place. The hostel was very nice and clean as well. Armando and Robert were great. The day tours can add up in price but the Shala River and Komani lake tour is well worth it. I’d definitely recommend a stay here!

one of the best hostels ive stayed at was really debating this or wanderers but it was perfect- really big , really nice facilities, theres so many showers and bathrooms theres a private shower too, a giant makeup room, and comfy beds with curtains. convenient restaurant right there and amazing day trips with great leaders. staff was so great shout out to armando.

This was an incredible hostel!! The staff are so welcoming and the main building social area outside was an absolute highlight.

I really liked my stay at Shkodra hostel, the staff were all super nice and the hostel was really good in general. The tours they offer are also nice and fun, so I would recommend signing up for one!

Words cannot describe how amazing this place is. Bathrooms? So clean and modern. Bedrooms? Super tidy, spacious and comfortable. Courtyard? The BEST hangout spot and place to chill out with a coffee and some food from the cafe. Big props to Emily who works so hard and makes the tastiest food. Big love to Erjon, Robert, Armando, Sophia, Shehab, Fernanda & everyone else who really makes the stay worth it and are all so wonderful 🩷

This hostel is the best hostel ever. The staff are SO funny and friendly, it’s really beautiful inside, comfy beds. If you stay here you are guaranteed the trip of a lifetime. Day tours-10/10, food-10/10, overall-10/10. I cannot recommend this place enough. Lule mali x

Absolute goat of hostels. Feels like I’ve made a new family in Skhodra. I’m just saying Armando really deserves a cookie for all the hard work he puts in volunteering at the hostel, same with Ferni. Make sure you order a white girl latte from Emily they’re delicious. The activities the hostel offers are great - the dinner on the sunset boat cruise is probably the best feast I’ve ever had. I loved my time at this hostel!! It was my first solo trip so I didn’t know what to expect going into it, but everyone here made me feel so welcome. The day trip to the Albanian Alps was incredible, thank you to Rob and Armando for making it so fun. I definitely want to stay here again in future. Looking forward to more of Emily’s cookies too. Thank you guys :)
