Old Town Hostel Ohrid

Got very bad interaction with the person in charge (maybe a volonteer) through WhatsApp. Very bad communication from the hostel and no help whatsoever. I wrote to ask to book directly with them and I didn’t get a reply for a long time, bed got booked in the meantime and he/she was really rude to me. Loud and noisy cleaning can start anytime from 7:00 AM according to hostess. During my stay, it began at 9:45 AM, and the hostess showed no consideration for guests who were sleeping, resting, or unwell. Another guest mentioned that cleaning started at 9:15 AM on a different day. The Wi-Fi connnection was extremely slow. The kitchen and common areas are closed during lunchtime for cleaning. Would not recommend staying here unless you want to get shouted at or scolded by the owner. We were here with our friends and we saw the owner scold different guests while we were visiting and even heard her curse at different guests like in front of us in the kitchen and outside. It was unprofessional. We were very uncomfortable and we did not extend had to move to another hostel because we didn’t want to be in that environment. Kitchen great/fridge small/top bathroom broken sink area.

Hostel is nice and good value for money; however, I have literally never been anywhere with worse wifi. Barely ever works even in the common room and when it does work it takes a few minutes to load a google search. Have to go to a cafe to call family or work. Atrocious

Nice place, clean. The owner is very friendly. The commune areas are great. They don’t give you towels tough, if you want one you’ll need to pay.

Good location, very friendly staff and clean as well. Unfortunately the bedroom walls don’t keep away outside noise well, which made it hard to sleep when drunk guests were talking loudly in common area well past midnight (staff not enforcing quiet hours?) Wi-fi is also low quality, they have 3 networks, but none can handle more than a few minutes of basic browsing at a time

Wonderful stay! Natasha made me feel at home the whole time with her courtesy and kindness. The hostel is very clean, and it’s easy to meet people there. I absolutely adored it. The only downside for me was that the cleaning in the room started a bit too early for someone who likes to sleep in (like me), but it wasn’t a big issue. I definitely recommend it — one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in!

Best hostel I’ve stayed at in Europe! The staff are amazing, and the rooms/common areas are super spacious and spotless. The hostel had a very friendly vibe, and they organised the most amazing activities (a wine tasting and jeep safari). The beds are really comfy and have individual curtains/lamps/shelves. The location is right in the centre and made exploring so easy. If you are coming to Ohrid you definitely need to stay here!

Natasha is the best host ever! Such a great place for solo travelers, the hostel is small so everyone hangs out together, and it’s the best location to explore old town.

​The hostel is very well-organized, but what makes this place special is the host’s hospitality. She is incredibly attentive and treats everyone like family. I was especially touched by how she looked after me even after my check-out. It’s rare to find such sincere care these days. I will definitely be back!

Franchement, 10/10 sans hésiter. Hostel ultra propre, accueil au top dès l’arrivée, équipements complets et vraiment pratiques, et en plus super bien situé. Mais surtout, une ambiance incroyable — j’ai fait de super rencontres qui ont clairement marqué le séjour. Je recommande à 100 %, j’y retournerais sans réfléchir.

Ahh, I have extremely fond memories of the Old Town Hostel! Ohrid is cooler in summer because of elevation and the large, ancient lake. Lively, with wine and rakia tastings, a wonderful summer festival incorporating musical styles from baroque to jazz, Ohrid is a mix of east, west and the Mediterranean. However , controversy still surrounds whether the best hamburger is from Burger Brothers or Plate as well as if fish soup is a viable breakfast option! My stay in the four bed dorm was comfort...

I honestly think this is the best hostel i’ve ever stayed in!! The accommodation was amazingly clean, the location is perfect, the common area was used every night and it was very social and natasha, the host, was creating a really nice and beautiful atmosphere which made the stay feel really homely!!! I’d loved to come back ❤️

Helpful, hardworking staff made my stay very pleasant. I met kind people here and liked that the hostel was just near the square.

Irgendwas zwischen eine wunderbaren Zeit und einer zweiten Familie. Der ganze Aufenthaltsbereich lädt zu mehr ein als nur etwas Smalltalk. Sehr viele Tours werden Angeboten und ich habe viele Tips zu meiner Reise bekommen, die weit über Ohrid hinaus gehen. Immer schöne Gespräche mit gutem Kaffee. Sicher nicht mein letzter Besuch.

Une des meilleures auberges que j’ai fait. On s’y sent bien, tout est joli et bien décoré. Il y a tout ce qu’il faut au niveau des équipements. Les propriétaires sont très gentils. La terrasse est très agréable. Une auberge sociale où il est facile de rencontrer des gens. Et tout ça très bien placé. Vous pouvez y foncer les yeux fermés
