the location fools you as the sunset is nice and on the river so you can go swimming BUT the shared dorms are horrific, some may call them simple but once you realise that the shower in the room leaks through onto the floor below ( alongside the GRIME built up on the corners of the bathroom ) you may rethink your choice. Yes it’s cheap but that’s for a reason, I paid to get my washing done here and they stained all of mine and my friends white clothes. Overall A TERRIBLE STAY!!!

Pretty decent if you have 0 expectations for customer service. I can’t count the number of times I stood there waiting to be acknowledged while the girls working continued to talk to each other or text on their phone. Not to mention listening to them complain to one another how tired they are of their job and greeting customers each day. do not book the female dorm w/ en-suite. toilet is unusable and so gross. rats in bathroom. it’s nice being on the river but not worth it.

I don’t usually leave reviews but we were pretty disappointed with this hostel. I looked great on here but when we arrived there were about 100 bugs on the room floor and had a very dirty toilet in the room with no seat or toilet roll. Asked to move rooms and then had to pay extra. Communal bathrooms weren’t as bad but it’s basically just like being outside. The communal area is nice though. Watch out about the other reviews as you get a free top if u leave a good review.

Die Freiwilligen waren super lieb und haben den Aufenthalt für uns wenigstens ein wenig genießbar gemacht. Auch der Aufenthaltsbereich hat uns sehr gefallen :) Der Betreiber war leider nicht so freundlich zu uns. Die Hütte mit Bad und Terrasse war in sehr sehr schlechtem Zustand und unserer Meinung nach zu teuer dafür! Es hat eine Nacht lang geregnet und am nächsten Morgen hat sich rausgestellt, dass die Hütte undicht ist. Viele unserer Klamotten sowie Rucksäcke waren triefend nass…

The social area of this hostel was really cool! However I found the rooms smelt a bit and the bathroom did not feel clean. The shower was next to the toilet and the small bathroom would not drain properly so the toilet floor was always full of water. Good for one or two nights if you don’t mind it not being 100% cleans

I had some serious security concerns with this place. Many people were high on something that is apparently allowed. I made the decision to relocate same day. It’s like renting a shed on the river bank, rooms don’t have aircon during day and no windows. Don’t waste your time and money.

Great staff and atmosphere at the hostel but the rooms were terrible🤣, only fans in my room, so cramped, uncomfortable and rickety beds and sand everywhere, toilets had good showers but were pretty dirty, food was good though

Not exactly what you see in the photos! The rooms are very very basic; bed, mosquito net and a fan! The bathroom is a wet room, and the shower is cold- not to mention you might be showering with some jumping frogs. The toilet has no loo roll and you can only go for wee in the toilets which are in the rooms, so if you need anything else you have to go to the communal toilet/shower block! Had an amazing stay, the hostel is so nice to chill by the river or swim in it. The bungalows are really nice and comfy. And more importantly the staff is absolutely amazing, they made my day everyday, so helpful and always here to make you feel welcome and have a laugh !

By far one of my favourite hostels on my south east Asia trip. Perfect relaxing place with the lake. Staff are incredible. Amazing value for money too

Really great hostel! Great common area for meeting people, swimming or relaxing. Has a really special feeling about it and what makes that is the staff. Sooo lovely and helpful!! Rooms are basic but that doesn’t matter because you won’t spend any time in them anyway- it will all be spent at the restaurant/bar. Highly recommend!!

absolutely loved this hostel, I was recommending it by two different people and Ivan 💯 understand why, it's a fantastic location and the vibe is amazing, very friendly staff , great music, excellent food, the chicken burger is second to none. Do not miss out, if you are heading to Kampot book this place , you won't regret it and you will likely book some extra nights x

Beautiful hostel and even more beautiful staff! A place I felt I could really relax. The staff went the extra mile to help me which I really appreciated. I think you’ll be happy you stayed here

They give you a free shirt for good review.The river is a vibe close to the green cathedral and they have kayaks for hire. The downside the bedrooms aren’t amazing. I was in a 6 bed female dorm. The doors had no locks and there was no where to lock up your valuables. The upper bunks have no curtains however the lower bunks do. Mattresses were ok but they only give you a tiny blanket so can he cold if ac is on high. Toilets and showers were gross and one in the room only half works.

The location of the hostel is absolutely awesome. despite being quite a bit outside the city Center, it’s located beautifully at the river with the opportunity of having great sunsets. It’s a really relaxed place, perfect to slow it down for a couple of days. With a scooter or Tuktuk it’s only a 10min drive to Kampot City. Overall loved my stay here :)

Yellow sun is my favourite hostel so far, The food is really lovely & affordable The drinks are cheap & th cocktails are nice and strong The dorms are small & basic but comfortable, AC and nice The river is very peaceful and sunsets are amazing However what makes yellow sun stand out from the rest is the staff, every staff member is a truly beautiful person, extremely friendly, always happy to help and engaging. It felt like a home from home and I’ll recommend this hostel to anyone

Fell in love with this place almost instantly after arriving, the views was amazing and the vibes were so chill n fun. Not forgetting the staff who were great people, and made us enjoy the place even more.

I absolutely loved this hostel directly at the river. Especially the staff is so kind and you can have fun 24/7 or just chill at the social areas and have a little chat:) met nice people here. Would come back here 🫶

yeah this one was a banger, great backdrop, lovely, friendly, helpful staff (special thanks to Day'Ron), would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Kampot

Amazing hostel, great location and very clean. Beach front so very relaxing and peaceful with lots of hammocks to make use of

fantastic stay. staff and volunteers are super friendly and make you feel at home instantly. the hostel is a bit further away from the centre but right at the river which is great for sunset swims. dorms are pretty outdated and unfortunately without windows. also not the cleanest place, but still a great experience. food at the bar is really good too!

J’ai adoré cet hostel niché dans la jungle avec une vue sublime. Le staff était tellement gentil et accueillant, l’endroit superbe et reposant, je serais bien restée quelques nuits de plus ! Franchement n’hésitez surtout pas à choisir celui-ci, vous ne le regretterez pas ;)
