Stone City Hostel

Awful host who is rude to the guests. I just had a problem with my bookings and he was directly impolite to me.

Was really excited to stay at this hostel because of all the positive reviews, however when we got there they had cancelled our bookings for incorrect nights (despite us ringing to confirm twice) and simply laughed at us when we expressed our disappointment. We found out later from people in town that we were not the first people this had happened to. I think the owner is quite arrogant about having the busiest hostel in the city and doesn't care if he treats a few people badly. In response to ...

Emplacement très difficile d'accès rue pavée,très étroite, impossible de se garer sauf à 300m de cette maison d"hôte plus que hôtel, !! Accueil peu chaleureux et on doit laisser ses chaussures dehors avant d'entrer...non ce n'est pas une mosquée !! Nous avons.s donc fait demi-tour !! A éviter absolument ..sauf si on aime les mauvaises découvertes !!!

Buen hostal. Limpio y buenas habitaciones. No le doy más porque nos separaron en diferentes habitaciones al hacer el check-in, cuando había gente sola en nuestra habitación. Creo que podrían mejorar la gestión. Buena recepción del personal, exceptuando el trato de una de ellas a la hora del desayuno (un poco borde).

Such a great hostel !! Incredible social vibe, the owner is really kind and the volunteers are helpful and friendly! Nice breakfast, with variety and different cakes ! Great location too :) I recommend doing the walking tour with the hostel, super interesting and a great way to understand the history of Gjirokaster + delivered in a way that’s not too overwhelming !!! I would suggest this hostel to everyone

Wonderful hostel. The owners and staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The space is clean and has a cozy chill vibe. Minutes from the bazaar and castle. Highly recommend!

Amazing place to stay and the best hosts!!

Stone City Hostel is why I like to travel solo and staying in hostels. You enter and you feel like you just entered a home, not just an 'accomodation'. Its a beautiful house with an amazing view from the dorms. It's clean, well decorated and has everything you need for your stay. But most importantly it is how everyone who stays there come together to sit around the large table in the kitchen/main area. Game night, cocktails, free walking tours and amazing personnel. Kudos to the owners and team

Lovely hostel in a beautiful city and well located. Really nice feeling in the shared space and overall.

This was the cleanest hostel I've ever seen. The staff created a friendly environment, and the common areas were great for relaxing and/or board games. Also, they have towels and locks for no extra charge. The breakfast was good too, and they pack you a to-go box if you check out of the hostel before breakfast time. 10/10 would stay again.

My favourite place in all of Albania – I keep returning here. The house is charming and beautiful, impeccably clean and wonderfully hospitable. There is a lovely terrace where you can spend hours reading books, the beds are very comfortable, and the breakfast (with homemade cake) is served in a cosy shared living room/kitchen filled with books and board games. The hosts are always ready to give great advice on what to do and what to see, and they are very knowledgeable about Albania and Gjirok...

This is one of my favourite hostels I’ve ever stayed at! It’s a beautiful place with a relaxed, homey vibe that instantly makes you feel comfortable. The family-style breakfasts each morning were a highlight and such a lovely way to connect with other travellers. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming too🤍

Great place to stay, I had a blast here. Walter and his team are so friendly and helpful and the hostel itself is just beautiful. I also went on a tour with them and Walter really showed us some special places.

We stayed here 2 nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. The hostel was most beautifully decorated and we were welcomed by the volunteers that were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We were given local hike recommendations on a pamphlet curated by the hostel owner Walter. Definitely one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. Walt who runs it actually maintains many beautiful trails throughout the area and is very knowledgeful on many lovely hikes. The breakfast is above and beyond. And the staff is very kind.

Great hostel with cool events & tours

Super lovely hostel ! Amazingly clean, with lovely volunteers and staff working there. The city tour with the owner was also super worth it- very detailed.

This hostel is amazing! Walter and the staff are fantastic hosts that make you feel like you're at home. Facilities are excellent and the hostel offers great excursions (we went off-roading up a mountain).
