Snooze Station by Sydney Galle

The staff was very nice and helpful. We had the private room and it was okay. Very small and loud because of the street and noise from the places around.

A little bit overpriced for the services. No bed curtains, some broken elements in the bathroom. But super close to the train station, it’s good for one night!

Location is in town center close to bus stop and railway station and also to the fort. Hostel is very clean. Staff is nice and helpful. Only thing was, that there was music blasting from the store next door until late evening, which you could hear from the room. The hostel also didn’t seem too social. There is a small common area though. The restaurant/cafe downstairs is convenient but kind of overpriced for the quality.

New, clean and close to Galle Fort (5 min walk). I saw no other traveller at the hostel, so not that social. Loud music playing from the building next to it.

Great hostel and great location. The shower was warm and with great pressure. Went during low season so there was no real social vibe to the hostel, maybe it’s different during high season. Room was clean, staff was nice. Good value for money for a 1 night stay to explore the city of Galle

The hostel had recently started operating when I stayed with them. I was the only person at the hostel (which was pretty weird but also had the entire dorm and bathrooms to myself) but didn't feel unsafe at all. This place is right next to the main road but has own security and is nested inside a larger hotel/restaurant so it's kind of hidden. The location itself is great for getting to Galle Fort but can be somewhat loud at night. The beds and bathrooms were nice and had a well functioning AC. ...

Great location for the fort/bus/train station. Rooms were clean and super comfy and was the best shower ive had in Sri Lanka! However room door wouldnt shut properly and no lockers. Also not really social as no real common area. Wifi and AC was also good and food/drinks in the was nice. Good for a stop over.

Really amazing historic hostel in the centre of Galle. The bar downstairs is really cool and usually full of a mix between locals and travellers which is cool. Great to hear the hosts taking on feedback to improve things further.

Hostel is in a really good location, especially if you’re looking to go to Galle Fort. Comfortable stay, bathrooms were nice but shared with everyone. Room was spacious. Staff all really friendly. The pub and restaurant area downstairs is cool too.

very nice hostel! next to the bus station in a busy road. the staff is excellent, caring and want you to make feel comfortable! social wise depending who is there. the common space is very limited, but the inhouse cafe is really cute and nice too. would stay there again!

Snooze station is in a great location, next to the bus station and only a short walk to the fort. The staff were really friendly and there’s a restaurant below and a shop nearby and a locked room to store luggage in. It’s not the most social hostel but great for a quick stop over or solo trip.

Clean, very pleasant hostel right next to the bus/train station and a 7 minute walk to the fort. Quiet, cool and calm despite the busy location. Not very social but I think this could be the fact that Galle isn't really a backpacker hub. Also, beware of scammers on the street outside who seem to target tourists leaving this property.

What a nice hostel ! Very clean, staff friendly and very safe place. Central location. You have free coffee and unlimited filtered water. Recommend it at 100% !

I booked a 1 night stay in the female only dorm. Chose because it's very close to the Galle Fort. The room was spacious with good air conditioning and ceiling fan. The en suite was nice and had separate shower room, water closet, and sink for convenience. Also the water was hot for a nice hot shower. Beds comfy and relatively easy to climb to get to the top bunk. Even though in a noisy part of town (next to bus and train station), didn't get a lot of street noise in the room. Such a good hostel, toilet in female down was separate to the shower for ease and it was very clean. Met some lovely people here!

I had a very nice stay at Snooze station. The owner was very nice, gave us a tour and invited us to the run for coffee, which was a very cool experience and a must if you are there on a Sunday morning!!

Great service. We’re allowed to use the showers all day after check out and got fresh towels.

Beste hostel dat ik in tijden heb gezien. De kamers zijn brandschoon en de bedden zijn keurig opgemaakt bij aankomst en liggen goed. Het sanitair is net zo schoon en wordt ook dagelijks schoongemaakt, het water is warm en heeft goede waterdruk. Locatie is top als je met de bus of trein komt, beide stations zijn op minder dan 5 minuten lopen. Binnen heb je geen last van verkeer of geluid van straat. Vanaf het hostel loop je in 10 minuten naar Galle Fort.

Very clean hostel with hot water/ good showers. We stayed in the 4 bed female dorm. There are no privacy curtains around the beds which is a real shame as this could prevent a lot of people booking. It’s not a sociable hostel and we saw no people there during our trip other than the other girl in our room. Outside there are some locals asking people for money but they were not persistent. Worth noting in case you’re a solo traveler as this could make you feel uncomfortable. Would stay again.

Comfortable stay in a private room at Snooze Station, clean room and good shower. Yoshan was very friendly and explained the history of the building, cafe and pub which was interesting. He also got us involved in Run for Coffee - a community run around Galle Fort walls followed by coffee at Barista - a great way of seeing Galle and meeting other people, everyone was very friendly. We found the rest of the time there wasn’t much going on at the hostel. Good coffee at the cafe.

Great service from the staff. Clean and tidy rooms with a great location from the Galle fort. Will come back again

Loved this hostel! Not far from old town. Food was good. Rooms spacious and clean and lovely bathrooms!
