Ace of Spades Hostel

I visited the hostel in 2022. Place seemed fine, until it was revealed how the owner was a real life monster. He assaulted one of his employees who was a victim of human trafficing and destroyed her passport. She fled the country as a result of the assault.

Das Zimmer war bei Anreise sehr dreckig, sowohl die Oberflächen als auch die Dusche und Toilette, die nicht wirklich geputzt waren. Die Wände waren mit allem möglichen voll geschmiert und man fühlte sich nicht wirklich wohl. Der Raum und auch die Bettwäsche hat gestunken. Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer mit Bad, wo es keine Tür gab. Es gab in dem gesamten Raum nur am Bad ein ca 20*20cm großes Fenster und man hat sich wie in einem Keller gefühlt. Die Klimaanlage kann man nicht selber bedienen. Der ganze Raum und Bettwäsche hat gestunken und es war sehr dreckig. Nicht mal die Toilette war geputzt. Wir haben zwei Nächte gebucht und sind nach einer Nacht in eine andere Unterkunft gewechselt. Das Personal war allerdings nett und hat gute Ausflugtipps gegeben.

Firstly, I had no duvet or anything to sleep with on my bed - just a sheet and a pillow. The bed was filthy with bits of hair and stains. Then, in the morning we checked out just after 11 (checkout at 11 on the website) just to be fined 20 euros. The man said checkout from the ROOM was at 10:30 when that was stated nowhere - so he charged us 10 euros for this. He then charged another 10 euros for checking out just past 11. The hospitality was poor and I’d highly recommend not to stay here.

Bed bugs galore don’t stay.

Very poor hygiene. Flies all in the kitchen over the food and work space. Caught food poisoning because dishes were not clean and the state of the kitchen was horrendous.

Nous nous sommes présentés à l'accueil et nous avons appris que notre réservation a été annulé via le site de réservation que nous avons pris. Le mail d'annulation été dans les spam, comment le voir ? alors que tout les mails de confirmation été dans la messagerie normal. Le gérant nous a laissé sans solution à Bled, un samedi où il y a du monde donc aucune place disponible dans la ville. De plus c'est à nous de faire les démarches pour le remboursement, encore du temps perdu d...

Nous ne recommandons pas cet hébergement. Les services d’une auberge de jeunesse ne sont pas au rendez-vous : prix supplémentaire pour dépôt de sacs, rien de prévu pour étendre le linge et interdiction de faire sécher dans les espaces communs, la cuisine est fermée entre 23h et 7h mais pas ouverte à l’heure annoncée. L’équipe n’est pas présente le matin pour les Check-out. Il est compliqué d’y organiser son voyage.

Very bad, owner offers Weed, realy Bad vibe, DARK Hostel, Strange owner,i told him i dont want to listen to his.stories, He didnt stoped talking, i told him i dont want to know, wanted Just to chill, He was telling me Stories about other people, even I Said I am Not interested, He took extra Money fromy Account after I left charges extra Money after people leave, avoid !!! Hostel Bled next to this is better!

The location is lovely but just stay at bled hostel instead for the same spot. The bathrooms were not clean and I didn’t see them get cleaned in four days. The kitchen was one of the dirtiest I’ve seen in a hostel. They also have no pans only pots. Staff is also not easy to find and the reception desk is not staffed most of the time.

Very good stay here! People to talk to. Good, big and organized kitchen. Good amount of toilets and showers. Would have liked curtains for the beds but not a deal breaker. The reception is hard to find but just call them and they are usually right on the ”terrass” when you get there.

It was close enough to everything. The biggest negative sign was the cleanliness. 2 - 3 rooms share two toilets and two showers, considering this, they should have been cleaned more often as many guests choose to not do so themselves. When we were brought to our room for the first time, both of the other guests had their things spread throughout the room, even put down things on our beds.

It was the best hostel I have stayed in so far. The atmosphere was great, many young people, great location. The only thing that I didn’t like were the squeaky and not so firm beds. 👌

Loved everything and met tons of people my age

amazing hostel. so clean and loads of cool people to meet. had such a fun time staying here. only negatives are that the security felt a bit minimal - the door to the garden was open 24/7 and not many people locked their doors. it was also a bit hard to get hold of the hostel staff sometimes. otherwise everything is class would really recommend

This was genuinely the best hostel I’ve stayed in! Such good vibes, had everything we needed, super social. The owner and volunteer were amazing! We couldn’t have asked for a better time and would recommend this hostel to anybody. Super close to the lake aswell, 10/10 all round 😍 Thank you so so much for having us!!

The hostel was in a perfect location close to the lake and right next to a supermarket. The staff was helpful and the atmosphere overall was really friendly and easygoing. However, our room was not cleaned properly and there was dust everywhere. It was also quite humid so towels and clothes wouldn’t really dry. The bathroom of the private room didn’t have a door which was strange but didn’t bother us too much.

The kitchen ia very good. Social area was good to hang out. Staff was very poaitive and helpfull. The only thing, our room was a bit dusty. Over all i rrcommended it for staying

Great hostel. The staff was super nice and friendly, and it was clean and well-kept. Great location and the beds were so comfortable.

Nice hostel, kitchen open 24h/7, Terrace for have a rest. kind people help to find informations about your journey. Cleaning, little shop near for buying groceries. Laundry near too.

Overall a excellent little hotel in great location, just short walk from the lake and supermarket is just behind the hotel. Staff where friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. Room was room size and hostel kitchen was well equipped. Room and bathrooms could cleaned to higher standards (room was a bit dusty and there quite a lot hair built up in the shower) but certainly better than a number of hotels I have stayed in before! Would stay again.

Great location, good space however room had a bit of a damp smell to it. No window made it difficult to air out. Regardless we had a good stay

Very nice hostel with a homey vibe!! So close to everything and anything u need (grocery, laundry, THE LAKE, etc). Let us check in very late (with notice)!! Lots of showers, sinks, bathrooms etc. Room was nice and spacious with 2 windows. Wish there was curtains but otherwise great! beds were also the comfiest of any hostel i’ve ever slept in.

It was an ok experience,i liked the garden and it was also a safe place.However they need to clean the mattereses better,as well as the KITCHEN.Everyone uses it to cook and there is NO proper cleaning Equipment so the drawers,counters etc are nasty and feel dirty.Also there were no paper towels.They need get a box of cleaners for people to use. great hostel !! vibes were good, staff was lovely. close to the bus stop and very close to grocery store !! only complaint is that the their page says washing machine, but there isn’t one on property. still, there is a laundromat around the corner and the hostel staff exchange my bills for coins. they also have drying racks, so really not bad at all !!
