Su Taichung Hostel

Great facilities, but no people (in Jan). Not the most social, but very nice rooms and shared space. Good WiFi. The free breakfast had mouldy bread so decided not to go for it 😅 staff came across a bit rude. No early check-in available.

Self check-in was broken upon arrival. I would’ve been screwed if not for another guest that spoke Chinese and called staff. Bed was paper thin. Laundry was a nice amenity (with fee), but I ran the dryer cycle three times and still had sopping wet clothes. Luggage storage is for a fee. Mount for the shower head was broken and the handle had sharp metal peeled back. Curtains separating bathrooms were covered in mold. It’s cheap, but personally I wish I had splurged on Star Parklane hostel.

great location and clean spaces. nice common area with a little kitchen area and cheap laundry as well. there was only on sight staff like half the time but check in/out could be done yourself. not social at all though, hardly any other travelers when I was there

Hostel was completely dead. Room was super moist and smelly. Walls in room and bathroom are dirty. Only little water coming out of the tap. Wasn’t allowed to checkin early 20 minutes even the whole building was empty. Staff at reception only spoke Chinese and pointing at stuff. Wouldn’t recommend to stay here.

hostel is fine, close to the station but not to much else. Not social but that's the nature of hostels in Taiwan for now.

Really comfortable and great for the price

Sinnvoll, wenn man in Taichung „strandet“, weil man mit dem Busverkehr durcheinandergekommen ist bzw. die Abfahrtshaltestelle zum Sonne-Mond-See nicht findet (nicht auf GoogleMaps verlassen, am Bahnhof in der Information fragen!). Im Hostel alles sauber, wie immer wohldurchdacht, allerdings wenig Atmosphäre. Aber na ja, hab super geschlafen, Frühstück gab’s auch (die Marmelade scheint was taiwanisch-synthetisches zu sein, nicht mein Fall, schon das zweite Mal 😁) Ich empfehle das Host...

the hostel was really nice and had extra comforts. the breakfast was a bit disappointing but it was included in the price, can't complain! the room was great!

Safe and secure. Didn’t feel much of a vibe as I only saw one other person around in three nights (except for a few children walking around), but maybe I wasn’t around at the right times

I was pleasantly surprised by this hostel, expecting a lot worse based on the reviews. Clean and modern. Free breakfast was basically stale bread and the hostel was absolutely dead, barely saw anyone else there.

The best hostel I’ve stayed in during my 8 months of traveling. The hanging out area is impressive, there are free snacks, the toilets/showers are clean and modern, the rooms are great and they have ac. The only negative side is that the breakfast could be better.

Nice place for the price but be aware that the dryers do not function, despite taking coins and spinning.

Was A Alright Gaff!

Amazing hostel! It's very clean and modern. Good security as all doors need to be opened with a code. Cheap self-service laundry available. Breakfast is included. Lockers, towel, and toiletries provided. Curtains, light, and outlet for every bed. There is AC. Good location within walking distance of the train station. Only bad thing is I saw a dead cockroach on the floor next to the laundry room.

Love it! I arrive super late on the first day, but because it’s self service machine so I get to check in at any time. Breakfast was complimentary not much to choose but enough, very good coffee. They provide free towel, toothbrush set, and even a set of earplugs! Great value for money, would definitely come back again!!!!

Room was not very clean. There was someone clearly smoking in the washrooms. They overcharged me by having me pay the full price even though I had already paid the deposit.
