Palo Verde House

Booked an ensuite room but got no ensuite. When we asked we were told we should take what we got or we could leave. We paid in cash and were not given any partial refund. The guy was rude and dismissive. Credit to him, he did change my towel which looked like someone had shat on it. I had a shower in a semi clean bathroom with cold water. My friend was less lucky as he got no water and was told he could shower in the pool water. Great.

Fantastic price per night! The room itself was comfy and it had fans and mosquito nets. There’s even a pool outside. However the shower don’t work when I tried to use it

Crazy good value for the price. Comfortable bed and clean bathrooms. Showers arent optimal and there was no soap, but otherwise everything was good. Staff was very friendly!!

Je recommande de ouf ! Un peu excentrée mais y a l’amazone pas loin et la rue qui le longe est vraiment un chouette endroit où se balader, faire la fête Marcel est vraiment trop sympa et en plus y a une piscine + déjeuner inclu Vraiment je recommande

The hostel in it self was basic, rooms were really hot and noisy, but works alright. Breakfast was tiny, but nice with kitchen. However we do not recommend booking tours through them. The owner will promise you a great tour for a good price, but the guides have no idea what you have been promised. So you have to be really clear and a bit pushy to get your tours worth, and still miss out on some of the highlights like monkey island

Very welcoming, provides free breakfast and is quick to accommodate your needs! If I’m ever back in Iquitos I will definitely be back here :)

Hostel itself looks fine. It looked better on the photos than in real life, but good enough. One remark regarding the security; we got a private room that we could lock from the outside, but a doorhandle was missing, leaving a hole in the door and no possibility to lock from the inside, making it feel quite insecure, especially durinh the night. The person that received us at the reception knew a few words in our native language which was a nice gesture at first, but throughout our stay, he kept...

Overall the property is nice and the staff is friendly. There are limited bathrooms and showers with one of the showers just in a utility room. it was also very hot in the dorm.

Bit busy bc of the school period ending and the kids where swimming there but that was an nice vibe. Very nice people

Mein Aufenthalt war super, ich hatte nur 3 Nächte, vor und nach einer Amazonastour, ich habe mich wohl gefühlt. Das Privatzimmer und auch das 4er Zimmer waren mit Ventilatoren und Badezimmer ausgestattet, Frühstück war zeitlich nur sehr begrenzt und nicht riesig, aber gut, jedoch nicht jeden Tag vegetarisch.

This is the only hostel I have ever went to that I left early. The rooms were sooo hot even with a fan blowing it was unbearable. Also a miscommunication with the staff left us stranded at the boat terminal. The door to our room had a hole in it making it feel unsafe. The bathroom felt dirty and didn’t even have hand soap in it. The staff we talked to was very nice however I would not return.

Ich bin ingesamt eine Woche hier und fühle mich sehr wohl. Es gab anfangs Probleme mit meiner Buchung, aber das Personal war sehr bemüht, das Problem zu beheben und ab der zweiten Nacht hatte ich dann ein wunderschönes großes Einzelzimmer. Es ist alles sehr familiär, ich darf die Waschmaschine sowie die Küche nutzen und es mir damit sehr bequem machen. Bei allen Kleinigkeiten bekomme ich gute Tipps und was es für mich nochmal um einiges leichter macht: das Personal spricht super Englisch!

This is the perfect spot to bookend your trip into the Amazon. Good location, great breakfast, great pool, nice private room and walkable to the main square in Iquitos. Marcel and the team couldn’t have been more helpful and even gave us a room upgrade when we arrived back from the rainforest which was much needed! Definitely recommend 👍🏻

Lovely hostel and great value for money. The pool is so big and probably the cleanest one i’ve seen in a hostel. Very well equipped kitchen and the free breakfast is a great bonus! We loved the staff here, they are so kind and very helpful with anything you need.

The staff was totally friendly since the beginning, we felt like home,everything was nice. They offer tours if you want to experience the Amazonas. It’s very clean and the kitchen has everything you need.
