The ceo of this hostel is going around leaving rude comments on social media. Definitely not professional. Interesting how he can run a hostel for travelers but then post things like this on travelers pages.
I just want to share my weird experience with this hostel manager Tasos/ Sanel or whatever his name. 4 months ago while I was in a solo travel around the Balkans, I decided to do Workaway and, as usual, I sent messages to several hosts available to receive workawayers. My surprise when texting this hostel manager/ owner or whatever, was his prejudiced message about my age. He saidbthat my age wouldn't fit to that volunteer job position. I'm 42 and maybe this guy has the same age... We are in t...
Owner was aggressive and physically confronted me for a perceived insult (still unsure what as I’m normally excessively courteous to others and their property). Scary being in another country and having such an altercation. We obviously left as soon as possible. Very surprised by the positive reviews as this guy is clearly unhinged and deranged
Their policy is they only take instagrammable guests.
I came to ask about volunteering work and the owner just shouted at me from up some stairs telling me he's full and that I should leave. Not the normal response when asking for this kind of mutually beneficial arrangement. Oh and one of the volunteers suggested I look for work in a local shop... not the best advice in mostar when you have only passable Bosnian
Aegist place! They didn't let my friend stay because she was 45
The place is nice enough with a home-y vibe but very dead in the off season. The owner is quite unprofessional and confrontational when dealing with issues. He will yell at you and swear under his breath instead of handling the issue with grace and kindness. He also isn't particularly helpful with suggestions around town. Stay at Hostel David instead the staff is incredibly welcoming even for someone who wasn't staying there :)
Taso’s House was one of my best hostel experiences. Taso is extremely friendly, helpful and fun, as are his staff. It feels more like a home stay than hostel - will absolutely be coming back to stay!
Kind of a weird review. I would love to give both 5 and 1 stars. Taso was super nice to us and there was a great safe place to lock our bikepacking bikes. However, my first impression was him being very rude to the two girls who were volunteering there. It was their first day and from the my perspective there was no reason to be as upset as he was. Be nice to volunteers! They make your business possible!

We had a lovely stay here! The hostel is at a great location close to the old town and to a great bakery. The staff were great and made us feel welcome and at home. The volunteers were super helpful and very knowledgeable of the area. Kitchen is small but has everything you need. Thanks for a lovely stay!
The hostel is a fantastic family ran operation. But the hostel is only the beginning. Taso and his community of friends in Mostar are what make staying at this hostel a truly unique experience. Highly recommend!
I loved staying at Taso's Hostel. I got to meet Taso, his sister and some really friendly people there. Taso and his sister were very helpful and she even went the extra mile to help me catch my bus 😀
I struggle to find the words to explain how great of a hostel this is. The instant hospitality from Taso and Edita is unmatched. They make you feel at home, they are hilarious - I cannot vouch for them enough. Zoe was also a great volunteer. Cannot recommend here enough!!!!
Amazing and friendly staff! Near to Old bridge, within walking distance.
Loved this hostel! Great facilities and comfy beds, and very central to the centre of Mostar. A nice, social vibe to the whole place, while Taso is the best! So hospitable, his day tour is a must do and he even took a few of us to a local football ball game. Will remember my stay here!
Would recommend at any time. Clean facilities, cozy common room, lots of space in the dorm and just good vibes. Make sure to do the tour with Taso, it's awesome.
Can’t recommend Taso’s house enough.. if you’re planning a trip to Mostar It’s the best hostel to be at. Taso does amazing tour himself a with a lovely homemade breakfast, knows the best places to try local food and makes sure you make the most out of your stay he’s amazing guy with great staff Zoe volunteering there made leaving hard and staying easier as well as the other guests.. I planned a 2 night stay and it ended up being 7 nights. Nothing more I can say other than 10/10 experie...
This is by far the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Taso himself gets the 10 stars, as well as the rest of the staff/the facilities. The day trip was so beautiful and felt like a day out with family. Taso went above and beyond to help out my friend and I when we had troubles. If you are in Mostar, you have to stay at Taso’s House!!!!!!
Had such a nice relaxed stay at Tasos, it was outside peak season so was fairly quiet but I still met a greagreat bunch of people. Taso's hospitality and knowledge of everything made it an even better experience. Shout out to Zoe the volunteer who helped every way she could and had a big hand in getting everyone together. Would defo recommend a stay here.
Didn’t stay at Taso’s hostel. But we did have the pleasure of doing a day trip of Hercegovina with Taso! Couldn’t say better things about the tour. Extremely knowledge about the local area and history and answered all questions that we had. Highly recommend his services. Very helpful on local recommendations for food and even booking buses for future locations.
Taso’s House Hostel was a great stay and the highlight of my trip is Bosnia. The hostel is clean, tidy, and social. I enjoyed the Kravica Waterfall day trip with the hostel and exploring Mostar during my stay. Taso is incredibly kind and welcoming and the facilities and clean and accessible. The hostel is reasonably strict on using too much hot water during showers. Good to be aware.
Taso is amazing, great location and facilities. Would love to spend time there again. Recommended!!
amazing hostel, couldnt recommend enough. Taso is extremely welcoming. many thanks for the stay
Taso’s is a great way to see Mostar, primarily because it’s a three minute walk from the Stari Most itself! He also offers tours around Herzegovina which are for sure going to be cheaper than the ones offered on any website (+free breakfast). Very responsive host, answered all my questions and always had a recommendation.
Very nice hostile very friendly owner and also super helpful
One of the best hostel I've been too. I had a really nice stay, felt like home. Very clean, confortable and well located. Taso gave me recommandations for visiting the city, where to eat as a vegetarian and how to inform myself about Mostar's history. As a solo female traveler I felt safe and very well welcomed, I will definitely stay here again if I ever go back to Mostar.
Easily one of my best hostel experiences! I think finding a place to sleep, clean bathrooms and a little kitchen is easy these days, but the difference is made in the people you find when you arrive, and Taso has simply been THE BEST. He’s helped me with everything, talked to me about the country and even make me company as I was solo traveling. I defenetly suggest picking Taso’s House for your stay at Mostar, he really makes you feel at home😊

Taso is a really nice and kindhearted host. He let us check-in at 4 am because our bus arrived early and also made us breakfast after that. The hostel ist very comfortable and cozy and was really clean. Using the washing machine cost us 6€ but they hung it up for us to drying, that was also really nice. All in all was it a really perfect and relaxing hostel experience, I would come there again.
