- The bedbug infestation around the property most people are in denial or move in and out so fast they don't pick up on the sheer volume of this Infestation I am the whistleblower I have a 15 minute audio of me and staff refusing to give me the managers full name "he said it was illegal' to give the managers name all the staff where sheepish and scared to talk like there is a evil boss who has told everyone to keep it hush. Add me in Facebook for my audio with managers my name on Facebook Sam Devine They claim there protocol for bedbug outbreaks after I show them 100s of bites that I need to send a email. I said they need to get a bed bug exterminator to sort it out They will try brush it over and do nothing because it's bad for business There is HVAC running 8 floors and I have seen people on the 7th floor with red walts like mine in there face where there head would meet he pillow I would say the whole hostel is crawling I have a 15 minute audio of the conversation I had with the selfie and evil staff here trying to cover this situation up. I will send this to the health authorities and I wont Stop until I recent a report of proof of bedbug exterminatora on site The way the staff spoke to me I will not let this slide Avoid and I feel sorry for how many bedbugs this hostel has helped spread around MELBOURNE and Australia.

- We didn’t get a private bathroom, mini fridge or balcony as described. Air conditioning didn’t work, it is a hostel not a hotel! Not a place for my teenage daughter. College students mainly, with sexual behaviours in stairwells.

+ Like The location, the concept of a budget hotel cum hostel cum backpacker. The kitchen, maintenance staff were excellent as always.
- A Norwegian reception staff shows her attitude, an Indonesia BBQ man shows his attitude. Except Nikhil, everyone pretends to be confused and charge more, don't listen to customer but think they are hosting a homeless backpacker even though I occuoed a single room. These long term travellers, holiday makers, work and travel persons are employed at the reception while sincere,polite and responsible people are employed in Kitchen and maintenance. it's hard to comprehend the HR policy here. I took single room on a weekly package to start with, but wanted to extend by a few more days, then the Norwegian receptionist, Scottish, French all of them wanted to charge a higher rate for their own frivolous reasons. I consulted their GM, of course belated, he mentioned it could have been done by them after consulting him and working out in the system. A savings visa debit card doesn't have to be charged 3 percentage extra, although a credit card might attract extra as per their rule. Yet, the travelling European receptionists were fond of charging without any logic. The whole atmosphere of a just and reasonable business model of this place is eroding as I could observe over the past years merely due to the frivolous attitude of these working holidays visa holders, And of course, long term stayers of the likes of Indonesia BBQ gentleman. They say no smoking anywhere in the property but this Indonesia BBQ gentle man moves around inside the property like a Jamesbond with a cigarette between his lips ( not lit though). Same is the case with the Norwegian receptionist Vaping outside dining/ kitchen secretly. Meeting Room/ Reading room lost it's sanctity after group alcohol partying began during this trip of mine. If the management wished they can allow anything, but when they promise an alcohol free meeting/ reading it should be maintained that way by clear signages and supervision. The culture of favourism has crept in at the reception.

+ Mooie rooftop, grote keuken en goeie douches.
- Ventilatie maakt en vervelend geluid.
+ Ben was amazing. Everything was clean and the location was perfect.
10s all around, awesome facilities and staff. Slightly more expensive than what I might normally go for but well worth it.

Meilleure Hostel de Melbourne, ambiance, locaux, personnels et rooftop sont top. En plus le petit déjeuner offert le dimanche et barbecue le samedi midi sont juste parfait !!!

I thought it was very comfortable to stay here. The front desk staff and custodians are very friendly and do the best they can to keep everything clean. It's a big hostel, but you can definitely meet other travelers, especially during the events. It's fairly easy to use the kitchen, and I don't think they let the large school groups use it. The groups weren't an issue for me. But I wish they would keep the first floor common room open the whole time to use as a coworking space. The rooftop and h...
