Hostel Rio

Unfortunately I had a terrible experience at this accommodation. The space feels like a former office, filled with random furniture, and the pictures online didn't match reality at all. The heating system didn’t work, making it uncomfortably cold. The bathrooms lacked doors, making it impossible to shower comfortably. Plus, there were no lockers nor doors' locking systems. I pre-paid for three nights but left immediately, and they didn’t even consider a partial refund. I would not recommend.

There is no hostel with a better location than this, at the same time they had no lockers (march 26) and the restrooms were quite dirty. The staff was nice though

Great location and staff! Hostel is basically brand new and still being established though. Its very bare-bones with tools and construction equipment and tools lying around and areas not finished or open yet. Super close to the good parts of town though. Has potential but id give it a few more months to get set up.

The guys running the hostel were super welcoming and made me feel comfortable, even letting me do laundry. The vibe was cool, but at €25 a night my expectations were higher. The room needed organizing and the women’s bathroom could have been cleaner, with no shelves or hooks to put belongings. Overall, great people and atmosphere, but the facilities need improvement for the price.

The owners were really nice and chill. They give tips and helped us with the bus. The apartment is small but very cozy. however, the walls are very thin and the dishes weren't clean.

Sweet-hearts. As someone neurodivergent, it is small and you are welcomed with listening to your needs. There is a small kitchen area and people share. Hostel Rio budget travelling and safe. One issue with my words being recorded but I have spoken with the guys, who are more like friends now, about being more selective and I would still go back just to see people who I know will remember me. Met some interesting people. Very central. I love the city and people I met were generous too!

This was maybe one of the sweetest hostels I have stayed in. The owners Adi and Ken are the kindest people, they are always happy to help! Such good hospitality and incredible atmosphere, this hostel had a ‘home’ feeling, as if you were staying at a friends house! Definitely reccomend to even solo female travellers! Perfect location, thanks Adi and Ken for their hospitality! The bathroom and toilet are separated for men and women. Free laundry and drying machine!

Was such a nice hostel to stay in. It was clean, in a very good location and the owners were very helpful. The vibe was chill!

Really nice hostel with great people and chill vibes. Feels like you are staying at a friend's house. Common area has a tv that can watch just about anything, including live football matches. The hostel also has a washing machine and dryer that you can use for free. Owners Adi and Ken were super nice and hospitable as well.

I had a great time with adi and Ken. They did there job well! Highly recommend others to stay here.

⚠️ WARNING: This hostel did NOT charge or register the required tourist tax during my stay. I was later fined 50 BAM at the Bosnia and Herzegovina–Serbia border due to no record of payment. Serious inconvenience and stress. Make sure you get written proof the tourist tax is properly registered before you leave.

Stayed here recently and had such a great experience. The atmosphere was super friendly from the moment I arrived. Great mix of social and relaxing Had all the facilities I needed, and on leaving I was given a lift to the airport. Super kind hosts 🙌 I’d definitely recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a welcoming place with a great energy. Would happily stay again!

Top, ambiance et gérants super cools

Exactly what I was looking for — clean, quiet, and comfortable. Bed was proper, shower was hot, no issues at all. Staff were friendly without being overbearing and pointed me toward a few spots that were genuinely worth it. The location does a lot of the heavy lifting too, Baščaršija right there and easy access to everything. Met a few cool people passing through which made it even better. No hesitation recommending this one. 👌

I felt like home here I can truly recommend this place for stay stuff is 10/10 ***** Adi & Ken keep going I had amazing time here thanks for all! I would definitely return here with couple of 🍻 cheers
