Giving a bad review to balance out the ridiculous positive reviews here. I only stayed in a private room but it’s not worthy of more than a 7 IMO. The bed wasn’t bad, but the room smelled very musty & moldy, we had no ability to control the heat & a/c, and it really gets a low grade in terms of cleanliness with icky corners and quite an old shower and bathroom. In this same price range one can get a far superior hotel in Hanoi. I can’t speak for dorms, but for a private room you can do bet...

Yyou check in in one building then they send you to another building… showers are not good and I couldn’t for whatever reason get/rent a towel…I had to switch to a private room to get a to enjoy my stay here.

One of the worst we have stayed in asia. Hostel is owned by a travel agency, they dont care about the property they just want to sell tours. The bed is terrible 1/10, it is a tiny piece of foam. The cleanliness is 0/10. The beds were damp when we got in and the floor was covered in water/peoples shoes. The lockers were broken, the front door to the room doesnt lock, and there is one sink for 12 people. The internet was terrible, there is 0 social atmosphere, no elevator (6 stories). Dont go here

Sehr harte Matratzen und raue Bettbezüge. Alles sehr alt und wirkt heruntergekommen. Zudem waren die Badezimmer nicht wirklich sauber. Das Personal vor Ort war sehr nett, leider hat mir niemand auf meine Mail geantwortet die ich nach dem Aufenthalt geschrieben hatte.

The guy on the late night shift was very rude and lazy, tried to beat me up early morning and I ran away.

SUCH a bad experience here. We fell for the old bait and switch- arrived at the hostel late at night, excited to explore, but were immediately taken up a block and down an alley to another building that was nothing like these photos. It was cramped and FILTHY, and there was no hot water in the showers. When I asked about it in the morning, I was just told that it was Luxury Backpacker's "partner hotel." It wasn't worth the battle- we just forfeited the rest of our stay and ran away, quickly.

There is nothing "luxury" about this hostel. We booked a private room which looked nothing like the photos and the smell of cigarette smoke (despite it being a non smoking hotel) was overpowering at night. The only positive was the location.

Booked a stay after the Loop. Arrived super early in the AM and was able to check in which was great except instead of checking me into Backpackers they then led me across the street to Cathedral hostel. The bed / room in this hostel was damp and the bathrooms horrible. Also after being shown my room at 2am the same receptionist returned at 6am and then proceeded to open the curtain to my bunk. Nothing happened but very unnerving as a solo female travell

Brilliant location, and all of the staff are so lovely. Booked a private room, and as other reviews mentioned, the AC is so cold and you're not provided with the remote. The bedding was also stained and the mattress incredibly hard. The private room isn't worth the price, much better off getting a hotel instead.

Pas d'espace commun a part le rez de chaussée qui n'en est pas vraiment un, donc rencontrer des personnes est compliqué, les couchettes sont spacieuses et confortables par contre et avec les rideaux on est vraiment tranquille, ça c'est bien , mais le dortoir en lui même est assez sombre et l'espace central est assez étroit , il y a un balcon a chaque chambre pour fumer mais les chaises hautes ne sont pas très confortables, l'endroit est propre en revanche.

Awesome for a few nights stay whilst I was in Hanoi for bureaucracy reasons. The bunk was like having your own room! staff were helpful l and Lina helped print some documents off for me, which I am really grateful for. Will stay again

We booked a private room in the hostel but that turned out to be a room in the hotel, so there was not really an option to meet other travelers. Overall a very noisy hotel with sounds of elevators and warm water equipment. We had room 401 and that turned out to be next to someone that started playing the piano everyday at 6am, very annoying. Lastly, the staff was nice but they booked us a heavily overcharged bus to Ba Be Lake and charged 600k p/p, the actual price turned out to be 220k p/p.

Really good hostel! very comfortable, private and roomy dorms. Very nice staff as well! Definitely come here if you want break from the party hostels.

Linh was the best receptionist I ever meet during my travel to the world! I would love to recommend this amazing hostel 100% and the Ha Giang Loop / Ha Long Bay cruise was full of great activities we have booked with Linh. Nothing special about the room but it was clean, comfy and quiet at night.

Hab ein Privatzimmer gebucht. Dieses war nicht direkt im Hauptgebäude sondern ein Zimmer im „Luxury Hotel“. Das Zimmer war in die Jahre gekommen, nicht super sauber und es gab keine Fernbedienung für die AC. Für eine Nacht in Ordnung, das Zimmer sah aber nicht aus wie auf den Bildern. Gab gratis Wasser und relativ zentrale Lage im Old Quarter.

Great bedroom with comfy bed and fantastic location. In the shared dorms, the bathrooms aren't very nice with the toilet and shower in the same cubicle which doesn't feel the most hygienic or make for a great shower experience. Aside from the bathroom, a good stay in the heart of the city with friendly and helpful staff.

I had a great time at Luxury Backpackers! I stayed in the dorm which was really comfy and everything you needed. The private room was also nice! A little kettle with tea and coffee things, fresh towels and a mini fridge and a desk! I loved it in there The staff here are just lovely. I would like to give a special shoutout to Ling who was beyond welcoming. Always smiling, always lovely, I could not ask for a nicer person to be greeted with. Thank you for such a nice stay! 10/10 - Rosie

Super comfortable and spacious beds with storage. Good location as well
