really dirty, sketchy guy at the front desk

I had the worst experience at this hostel. When I arrived at the room, the smell was unbearable, and it was dirty. I went to take a shower, but there was no water. The phone to call reception didn’t work, so I had to go down to ask about it, and they told me it was due to maintenance—something they didn’t mention beforehand. The neighborhood is awful, with a strong smell of urine everywhere. I read the reviews before coming, and they were good, but my experience was completely different.

The hostel was in a very shady neighbourhood. Homeless people and used syringes everywhere. The people at the reception were okay until they asked for the outstanding amount in CASH ! This was not at all expected and was not mentioned to us until this point. When we asked for an invoice, they emailed us something in greek letters without any signature or stamp. The room itself was okay for a night. It could have been lit better. AC was just on the verge of dying. Toilet was clean but no towels.

Staff was very kind and helpful. They had a locked storage room for luggage which was convenient. Very unsafe location for a woman traveling alone. Could not walk outside at night.

I just didn’t feel safe in this hostel, it’s in a really unsafe area and I didn’t feel good enough to walk to the station at night for dinner. At first they hadn’t cleaned the room and it was super dirty, went down and waited 20 min for them to clean it. They did clean it and it was clean. It’s a good price but would not stay again. Night was very loud with thin walls and toilets flushing showers running sounded so loud.

This is as bad as a hostel gets, really. Even with the discounted prices, it’s not close to worth it. It is in an absolutely awful neighbourhood, and I did not feel safe staying there. Spend the extra money and stay somewhere else.

In super sketchy neighbourhood with lots of homeless and drug activity. Rooms had bad smell and shower didn’t work well. Didn’t meet any other youth despite a big concert being in town. Pillows were not pillows. If you want a good sleep BRING YOUR OWN!!

I had a great stay at this hostel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the common areas had a nice atmosphere. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which made it easy to work, browse, and stay connected. The location was convenient, close to public transport, restaurants, and main attractions. I also appreciated the well-equipped communal kitchen and the overall relaxed vibe. I would definitely recommend this hostel to other travelers.

Our group rented 2 rooms. The room I stayed in was OK. It was like an 'old school' hostel with bunk beds. It was clean. The other room was sub-par. The mattresses were in poor shape with urine and bed bug stains. They should have been completely covered with a protective mattress pad. The pillows in the room needed to be trashed - or at least be fully covered by zippered pillow cases to hide the blood stains on them. The location felt unsafe. Crackheads offered us pipes less than a block away.

The Staff Including Perry Were Very Helpful, Courteous & Shared All Required Useful Informations. The Breakfast Was Also Good & Recommended. Very cool staff always chatty and helpful, shoutout to Perry for making me feel very welcome. Nice kitchen facilities and rooms are clean, however no locks on storage cupboards yet. A tip for management would be to make the shower head angled down instead of horizontally. Neighbourhood was a little shady but nothing too bad.

Didn’t feel safe at all in that area

We stayed in Greece 2 weeks, traveling across the country, staying at other hotels for 2-3 times the price. This International Youth Hostel was a highlight of the trip, from the moment we called to check in on parking from the US. It absolutely MADE our stay in Greece. The team was personable, helpful, kind. We can't say enough good things about them or the facility.

Buona l'accoglienza con la reception aperta 24h e una grande hall nuova ristrutturata da poco tempo , pulita ed ordinata. room was fine, bed comfortable. bathroom was so tiny I couldn't shower with the curtain closed. hostel is in a dodgy area of Athens, to be honest I felt uncomfortable in the area, especially at night. Had I realised I would have stayed in a nicer location

The area feels unsafe at Night and there are a lot of drug taking people there. The Hostel itself was ok but also not that clean. The AC was too cold. The kitchen that you can use is in the cellar and the one upstairs where the nicer sitting area is, is not for common use.

The rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I had an issue with the toilet and they immediately checked it out and offered to change our room. The hostel itself has a lock on the door and feels safe when you are inside, but the area around is a bit sketchy. It is still a worthy place to stay.

An excellent hostel with exceptionally helpful staff, particularly Patros. Good breakfasts and calm atmosphere. Have booked in already for next trip to Athens.

Staff at this hostel were unbelievably helpful. They managed to help me move rooms when I felt uncomfortable and often checked in on me. The hostel is clean and has good security so I felt safe. The neighbourhood is within walking distance of the town and attractions. It was very good value for money. The neighbourhood is slightly sketchy at times (as a woman) however the hostel itself is very safe

Hi everyone: The hostal is located in a hard neighborhood with some homeless on the surrounding streets but in the evening there is police passing by and moving the homeless. The hostal is in the middle of the two metro stations which means walking several blocks for either one. One of the staff members did not speak English and never smiled. I got stuck on the bathroom restroom and the staff member helping me finally got the screw driver to remove the lock so that I was able to get out. Clean!

Die Unterkunft war relativ kalt ausgestattet und die Mitarbeiter konnten kaum Englisch. Die Zimmer waren jedoch sauber, die Duschköpfe hatten keine Halterung, mann musste also beim Duschen den Duschkopf selbst halten. Der Schlafsaal war einiges kleiner als sie auf den Bildern erschienen und die Luft wird schnell schlecht. Die Unterkunft ist gerade beim Omonia viertel, dort wimmelt es nur so von Drogensüchtigen, welche aber in der Regel nichts machen solange man einen Bogen um sie macht. Die Me...
