Hostel Mundo Joven Catedral

Walked in trying to go to the rooftop bar/restaurant they have that I seen online. Once I arrived, since I don’t work there I asked a worker there was an elevator to get to the rooftop restaurant. And he was insistent that the only restaurant is on the ground level. He had a judgmental tone, the audacity of a lobby janitor to think they’re important lol.

Sadly been here many times no problem. But came with a African American person this one time and security was called due to our suspiciuos presence. Very unplesant racist experience.

After 9 months of travelling, this is hands down one of the worst hostels we have stayed in. The noise is unbelievable. The rooftop bar has nightclub level music, so loud you can’t even sit amongst it and hold a conversation at 6pm. And it only gets worse as the night goes on - the noise doesn’t stop when the music does - people (assuming staff and people not even staying here) are so so so loud leaving the building and cleaning up. This hostel is, in my opinion, very bad — especially the service. A travel companion and I had booked two private rooms. Since I was traveling with a male friend, we wanted two separate private rooms. We booked and paid a deposit for them one day in advance through Hostelworld. Servicio deplorable, nos corrieron del hotel por esperar en la sala para hacer nuestro chek in el personal es muy grosero en recepción y el botones muy mala experiencia no vayan

Fuimos por la tarde, nos pusieron la pulsera. Salimos a cenar y al volver uno de nosotros se había quitado la pulsera. Pues decían que él no pasaba. Mala gestión y mala educación de la mujer portera.

Impossible to stay, the room was too noisy, there is a rooftop bar extremely loud. Don’t except to sleep even stay in the room if you booked here. I canceled my reservation , and no refunds were made. The staff was unfriendly! Avoid here !!!!

They couldn't check in at 2:00, and made me wait until 2:30, saying it was due to unforeseen circumstances and not their fault, without offering any apology. Pros: 1. decent hostel 2. Nice view from terrace 3. Decent breakfast included 4. Helpful staff Cons: 1. Stove in the kichen basically useless, big issue if you are a budget traveller planing to cook at the hostel 2. Dorms facing zocalo very noise, even when windows closed

Me encantó!!! Experiencia 10/10, buen servicio, amabilidad en todo momento, todos super atentos y amables, excelente locación súper céntrica y accesible 🫶✨

Great hostel! Great experience and most of all the staff is very professional and attentive! Definitely recommend this hostel for all of your traveling needs. It's very affordable and located in a prime location with plenty of activities that surround the hostel and also plenty of activities provided by the hostel! Book your free walking tours with Danny! He's very knowledgeable and has a great vibe! Will definitely be coming back here for my next vacation!

Lo único que mejorar es la limpieza de la zona de las regaderas y azulejos tiene mucho moho . Las sábanas y las tazas y todo lo demás es increíble . En recepción son lindos y me encantó que te puede guardar tu maleta sin costo .

Good place for us. We had the only double room I would want in the hostel because it has windows. Main issues were that there was occasionally a bad smell in the room. We think it was drain-related and on one evening lots of noise from an event in the hostel til midnight.

Very convenient location as it's in the historic center. The amenities were nice, but the hostel's rooftop bar and design makes the place very loud especially at night as the bar continues till 2 am and windows don't properly close. I would not recommend for light sleepers or early risers.

Excelente lugar. Muy buenos cuartos. Muy buenas desayuno. Muy buen servicio. Todo muy bien más no espectacular. No tuvimos agua caliente con frecuencia y la calidad de las camas no era la mejor. Pero para el precio no puedes pedir más. Somos 13 y esta es la opinión general. Nos juntamos en el desayuno para escribir esta Review. Muy recomendado.
