Phong Nha Tuan Garden House

This homestay felt more like a business than a welcoming place. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Everything was overpriced; scooters (250k), dinner (120k). The “family dinner” was disappointing, especially if you don’t eat pork -you’ll be eating veggie. They also kept adding people whilst the food was being served. Wir haben uns dort echt nicht wohl gefühlt! Die machen die Betten nur, wenn sie wissen, dass touristen kommen, dh in unserem Dorm waren nur zwei Betten gemacht, was echt nicht für gute hygienestandards spricht. Auch sonst war der Schlafsaal und das Bad nicht wirklich sauber. Das Frühstück inklusive konnten wir nicht essen leider. Wir würden definitiv davon abraten..

Das Hostel hat einen schönen Garten und bietet guten Kaffe und Frühstück an. Es gibt einen Pick-up-Service auch mehr oder weniger mitten in der Nacht. Die Mitarbeitenden sind grundsätzlich sehr nett und hilfsbereit, allerdings wird ein deutlicher Aufschlag auf Preise für Busse genommen, wobei uns der genannte Preis als derzeitiger Standard genannt wurde. Das Bad zum Dorm wurde während unseres Aufenthaltes offenbar nicht geputzt, Müll im Bad nicht geleert. Morgens lief eine große Kakerlak...

Het personeel was niet heel vriendelijk en de accommodatie is niet sociaal of zoals het er op de plaatjes uitziet. Wel zijn de bedden mega fijn, is het een schone kamer en konden wij na het uitchecken nog douchen wat super fijn was. Dus voor een nachtje prima, maar als je een sfeervol hostel wilt is dit niks.

Sadly I was a little disappointed because I expected more after the good reviews. My room smelled like sewage, I think that came from the bathroom next door. The location was a little further away from the rest of the village center (15 minutes by foot), and they tried very hard to sell me some rather expensive tours, also renting motorbikes was a little above average. But many of the staff were very nice and if it's warm enough for the pool, the atmosphere is probably way better.

Dorms were spacious, but beds are very squeaky. Dorms did not lock and staff come in anytime without knocking - especially when the little boy decides to hide away and they’re looking for him. Shower fitting was broken so have to hold the shower by hand - told staff about it but they didn’t seem to think it was an issue. Most staff can’t speak English so it’s hard to communicate if the sons are not around. Breakfast was ok and they gave me a snack for my night bus which was sweet.

It is okay. They forgot to pick me up from the bus stop, I walked alone at 4am. They put someone else in my bed after checking me in. Food was mid. Asked to book on tours multiple times during the day. Tried to make me pay for the room twice. Got me to the bus I booked with them a few minutes before it left. Early check out time of 10:15. Bed was clean and comfy. Not too far from the centre of town. Wouldn’t stay twice.

Good place to stay for a few days. I was supposed to be in a female dorm but they overbooked so I was in mixed. Everyone was super friendly and the staff were very helpful. We did notice that they say you can’t get grabs at some places but that’s not true, you’ll be able to get a grab or call a taxi pretty much anywhere.

I really enjoyed my stay at Garden House, Hung and his family created a very welcoming hostel and provided recommendations and assistance with booking tours throughout my stay. I especially liked the family dinners as it created a nice environment in the evening, thank you!

Unfortunately we were greeted with a cockroach in our room but they switched us to the room next door immediately. The family were so nice and we were able to kill a few hours playing with little Bo.

Amazing place, the best hosts. Clean, organized, wonderful food, renting bikes and motorbikes available.10/10

Okay what an amazing place! This family was so fantastic! Hung not only picked us up and dropped us off from our sleeper bus even though the hours were in the middle of the night. He provided tours to do and helpful tips. The food is AMAZING and the place itself builds such a great community to connect. Before leaving for our bus, this family sent us food as a parting gift. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Hung and his family are kind, welcoming and are always happy to help with anything I needed The room was clean, all the amenities worked perfectly well and the pool was well maintained The atmosphere of the homestay was nice and relaxed, social but not in a party way and the family dinners cooked every night were a great way to meet other backpackers staying in the homestay. Would definitely stay here again!

One of my favourite hostels in Vietnam. Family dinner every night was delicious and made it easy to meet people. Great social but not party atmosphere. Breakfast was nice too and the family were so lovley. I really recommend this hostel.

We loved this place. Hung was really helpful and recommended a fantastic cave tour. The beds were comfy, shower and AC worked great, pool was nice and the food exceptional. Great atmosphere for the family meal. Quite pricey compared to other places we stayed, but worth it. We were even given free pancakes and bananas to take on our journey, which was much appreciated as the ride to Khe Sanh is pretty isolated!

Would definitely recommend staying here! This is a family run homestay, with everyone being so welcoming. The rooms and pool are great, and they offer a family dinner every evening which was delicious and good to meet people. Probably my favourite place I’ve stayed whilst backpacking!

The staff is so welcoming, joyful and chill. Felt super welcome instantly. Great selection of food to order, did the family dinner both nights and met amazing people thanks to it. Felt hard to leave this hostel, as it has been the best one on my Vietnam trip. Highly recommend for the non party crowd!

Loved it here. Family dinners were so fun and great to meet people, social but not a party vibe. Great pool and outside area. The staff are just amazing such a lovely kind and helpful family. Beds were super comfortable compared to a lot i’ve stayed in. Only thing is bathroom could’ve been cleaned more often.

I really enjoyed my stay there! There's a very cool vibe, I loved the family dinners, it's a great way to meet people, and the staff was very good a giving recommendations for activities and booking everything for you. Everyone was so lovely, I highly recommend this hostel!

We had a great time staying at Tuan Garden House! The family dinner was amazing and a great way to meet people. The staff also arranged our bus to leave Phong Nha and gave us free pancakes for our journey! Would definitely recommend

Lovely family-run hostel, with really nice and helpful people! Only spend one night there but would have stayed longer if we could. Our host Hung helped us with booking the cave tour and gave us great advice. After check-out we could still use the shower after we did the cave activities and were also invited to join the family dinner, which was delicious and lovely! Would definitely recommend!

This stay was amazing. Tuan's son did a great job organizing my tour and bus. I loved the family dinners to mingle with other guests and met some ladies I ended up meeting up with later in other locations. The little boy was the star of the show! He was so outgoing, spoke good English, and wanted to hang out with guests. So freakin cute. Accommodations were comfy - I had a private room. I rented a bicycle and even got my laundry done. The family even made us to-go food for our bus!

I LOVED my stay here and highly would recommend it to anyone. The family owners are so kind and caring. From picking me up at the bus stop, hosting nightly family dinners, and giving me a snack for my bus ride out, they went above and beyond at every stay. The bathroom and beds were nice and spacious in the family rooms. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Die Perfekte Unterkunft für unseren Roadtrip durch den Nationalpark. Sauber, Sicher und schön. Der Host ist verdammt Nett! Hat uns geholfen einen Bus zu organisieren als wir von unserem in Da Nang stehengelassen wurden. VIELEN DANK! Bucht über Ihn den Bus -> Ist günstiger ;).
