Surfing Turtle Lodge

+ The beach

- I've traveled a lot, so I could instantly tell that the surfing Turtle Lodge is owned by an American, or a Canadain, or maybe even both No self respecting local person would allow their hostel to become so decrepit, dirty and over priced like this place. This hostel is designed straight of the ' western owner's handbook'. The cost of a bunk in a dorm isn't the worst price, however the dorm room is falling apart and very dirty, if the places gets cleaned it's not often and not very well. The toilets and showers are just below the stairs to the dorm room so you can smell when someone's on the toilet, and if you want you can actually just look down through the stairs and see in while the shower is being used. The food is awful and extremely over priced and consist mainly of fried chicken and burgers. This is the only place to eat so they take advantage of that, and even say if you have outside food you'll get charged for eating. Here we have another hostel that puts all your expenses on a tab so you don't know how much you're spending till you leave, and on top of that they add a voluntary 7% tip (without asking) so be careful. I suppose that 7% should go to the volunteers since theres more of them than actual guests. I'm not going to get started on the price of all the activities they offer, let's leave that at that. With the profits this place is making, you'd think it would be in better condition, but that money is probably going to the owners 3rd condo up north. The place is that bad we left a day early. We still got charged for the day but the 'volunteer' manager took 20% off. Whatever, it is what it is, Id rater pay the night and leave than stay any longer. Don't waste your time coming here it's not worth it, and the 'turtles' are just another marketing ploy.

+ Nada es un engaño xq te cobran demás te cobran una lancha y no te lo dice

- Te cobran la lancha para llegar al hotel no hay parqueo para dejar el carro y x todoterreno quieren cobrar demás

+ No lo use el cuarto y valía 25 Dolares y me cobraron 31 y les avise un día antes k no lo iba ocupar

- Les dije k lo rentarán por que no lo iba ocupar y era una fecha buenísima pero bueno no lo use y me lo cobraron

+ Son emplacement est incroyable. Petit déjeuner sympa

- Manque d’informations avant notre arrivée. Arrivée après 19.00 impossible de manger sauf des chips. Bungalow cher pour peu de service. Pas de pression à la douche. Personnel réception bof.

+ La situation sur la plage. Le côté isolé.

- La chambre sent le renfermé. Salle de bain pas en tres bon état. Le cuisine du restau est vraiment pas terrible. Attention au moment de payer: ils appliquent les 10% de propina sur tout: conso+chambre! L'endroit est superbe mais pas du tout entretenu: plein de déchêts qui jonchent le sol dans les parties communes, hammacs avec une vieille odeur, table de ping pong delabrée. Tout est a l'avenant...Dommage!

+ La tranquilidad de estancia

- No llegaba el agua a la ducha del baño y las frutas de los frescos tenían muy mal sabor.

+ Das Essen ist sehr lecker. Das Personal super nett

- Es ist schwer hinzukommen (Bootsfahrt, anschließende Kutschfahrt bzw 10 Minuten Fußweg durch Gestrüpp) und dafür sehr einsam, falls man das mag. Der Informationsfluss ist unfassbar schlecht. Es arbeiteten Freiwillige dort, die sich untereinander nicht mit dem Personal abzusprechen scheinen. Keiner gibt konkrete Auskünfte. Wir haben die Unterkunft gebucht, in der Hoffnung Baby Schildkröten zu sehen. Diesbezüglich habe ich vorab 2 Nachrichten geschrieben, ob es Saison ist usw. Als wir dann um 16:40 Uhr ankamen, hieß es, ihr habt leider 95 Baby Schildkröten um genau eine Stunde verpasst!?! Das hat uns richtig geärgert. Eine kurze Info hätte gereicht, dass wir eher anreisen. Einem anderen Paar ging es genauso. Es waren wirklich nicht viele Touristen da und auf meine Fragen vorab wurde immer geantwortet, nur dazu kam keine Info. Wie ärgerlich. Ansonsten ist die Unterkunft sehr in die Jahre gekommen und zu teuer für das was es bietet. Wir waren nach 2 Nächten froh, in eine andere Unterkunft in Las Penitas zu wechseln. Es gibt wirklich vieeeel besseres.

+ Muy bueno, lo único que no me habían dicho que solo eran 2 desayunos por habitación.

- La iluminación, falta iluminación en los pasillos, camino a los baños exteriores

+ La privacidad del lugar lo hace un lugar único

+ Prachtige plek aan het strand (die we vaak helemaal voor onszelf hadden). Leuke route ook om daar te komen (bootje, paard en wagen).

+ Nice staff and good food. The journey to get there was fun

- I think it was and can be a fantastic place again with a bit of investment. However for the usd 40 I paid it was very expensive for the dated room with old bedding and windows that didn't lock. Sorry but I need to be honest

+ Really happy, helpful staff. Incredible beach. Solitude but lots to do.

- Mattress rather hard

+ Sehr schöner Strandabschnitt Absolut traumhafte Sonnenuntergänge

- Strom fällt häufig mal aus .

+ - Lage war toll und Anreise abenteuerlich (Strand vollkommen alleine für sich) - Außenbereich sehr schön - Essen im Restaurant sehr gut und faire Preise für die Lage - Mitarbeiter super nett

- Strand-Bungalow und Liegen schon deutlich in die Jahre gekommen und könnten etwas Liebe vertragen. Der Bungalow hätte auch sauberer sein können, Handtücher waren zB fleckig und zerlöchert.

+ The food was excellent, as was the location & setting. The volunteers were helpful.

- It was a windy cold night and with only a thin sheet provided I was cold and didn't sleep well. There was no yoga available or turtle release tours. I understand these cannot be predicted but it seemed they hadn't happened for quite a while.

+ Es un ambiente acogedor, calmó, muy tranquilo para relajarse y poder compartir en familia

+ Super nettes Personal. Man fühlt sich sehr willkommen und sofort Zuhause. Der Ort ist traumhaft schön. Ein wilder langer menschenleeren Strand. Perfekt zum komplett abschalten. Die Anreise klingt erstmal mühsam ist aber super organisiert weil das Hostel nur durch Boot (3 Minuten Fahrt) und eine 900 Meter Kutschfahrt erreicht werden kann. Tolle Anreise fand ich. Super schönes weitläufige Gelände. Viele abhäng-Möglichkeiten.

- Man kann nur dort essen, da es außer dem Hostel nur noch eine weitere Unterkunft ein Stück weg gibt. Es gibt leider keine Gemeinschafsküche und für einen längeren Aufenthalt zu wenig vegetarische Optionen im Restaurant.
